@Lion7ism We don't know, but we all made things ourself. But through the years but we don't have an exact bill. But You can say this a low budget off roader. :) If you build one these days like this, with roll cage and stuff you would probably need € 7000. But you have a capable rig that will outdrive most of the Defenders and Patrols. ;)
@MrAbyss456 I have the stock 1.3 engine with a Nikki carb, straight pipe with sebring muffler and it has plenty of power. 4.16 gearbox too with 33" tires and I must say it surprises me how well it does. I drive up hills in 2nd low at 7000 rpm If I want. But if they're are really really steep I must shift to 1st. But it does pretty good, especially with the reduced gearing. :-)
@ch1ld0fbodom gerabox and the Nikki carb probably makes the difference. my suzuki hay also 1.3 liter, i'm using OME susp. and 31" tires. i'm planing on putting a snorkel on as well and i'm a bit sceptical on power...we'll see... i can always take it off :D
@MrAbyss456 Yes, it makes a huge difference. My Snorkel is just a hose of 7 cm diametre and I've never had any issues where I lost power, and it's in the back of the 4x4 so it catches no wind. But as you said, you can always take it off. But don't forget to put it on in cases where you might need it. =D
@dmirti1993 Where are you from? I was one of the first in Belgium that owned these tires. They are great, one of the best tires out there. Strong, capable, a but heavy too but extreme bite. Try to search for Silverstone. They are copied but the same quality.
@ch1ld0fbodom best would be if you get ARB and a compressor, if you want start just with 1 lock start with rear then if you manage some money put second one into front. lockers similar to lockright (automatic) are cheaper but if you put one to front then your car will be almost impossible for driving because those automatic lockers doesn't turn off wherever you want them to be turned off and when they are "on" you just cant turn...
so you can start with automatic on the rear, then put ARB (or other working with air pressure) on the front and then put another ARB to the rear, removing automatic one.
and the other thing is that automatic lockers are locked almost always and they
unlock only when you are turning and when they are trying to unlock you can hear noises and they are making heavy pressure on everything is inside the axle.
ow thats bad man.here in malaysia we do lots of modification on our 4wd...espescialy hardcore 4wheeling...theirs 1 suzuki here using a 15b turbo toyota engine..its like 4000cc...with a toyota land cruiser ninja front n rear axel...but its lot of money spend off...so how do u modified ur car...like,when u modified would u tell ur country car department..haha!:)
ow thats great man!i'm 19 too..my dad own's a workshop...before i use suzuki for 4wd....but now i'm using toyota....but maybe soon i'm thinking 2 modified a new suzuki..by da way i'm frm mlaysia..land of 4wd....hehehe...oo maybe u can upgrade ur engine and add up turbo....:)
dude...maybe u can change its axel....use a rocky axel...much more heavyduty....or maybe a lj70 toyota suspension n a toyota 2c turbo....surely u'll fell much more power on ur car....anyway good car dude....
@lolen91 Thank you. Yeah, I'm trying to work out a cheap solution that works good. But I'm only 19 years, still studying so I have a money limit. But I'm having plans for the future. :-)
@ChillinCherokee And btw, you weren't explaining. Only talking like Mr. Smartman who doesn't know anything about 4x4. Lockers are better, I agree but I can keep up. Haven't seen any videos of your cherokee. Channel block to ignorant jerks like you.
@ChillinCherokee Hey dumb fuck. Stay at your real estate, you really fit there and should stop talking shit on my video if you don't know anything about off roading. You're just another dumb american who doesn't know shit about 4x4. You just buy your expensive JEEP with stock lockers and go off roading like a real loser who probably doesn't know you have to drive in 4wd low. My wheels stay on the ground with my flex. I can keep up. So it's a 4x4.
@norcotailwips doesnt look top heavy to me. Only problem is you live in Belgium and you have a 1.3L motor and there is no replacement for displacement. I would just modify it anyway. Drop a 4.0L Jeep. Or based on where you live maybe a VW Turbo-Diesel or something cool like that...
@SCBianchi Yeah, all those rules in Belgium. I'm considering to get a VW turbodiesel engine in my road Samurai. Needs to get me a little bit extra power.. :-)
@ChillinCherokee Lockers are better I agree, but I got enough flex so that makes it alright. I still run the stock axles, with my 33" tires it's too risky. When I get more money to get better axles I will get some ARB Airlockers on it. Probably getting some Nissan patrol axles. These hold up to 38".
@ChillinCherokee I can drive as far with no lockers as someone who has lockers. It's too risky to lock my stock axles running 33" tires. Only in mud I'm not that good but it works for me. As a 19 year old I think I have a pretty cool off roader.
@TheVolvopv I have no experience with carbs. Mine is a Nikki, ran fine from the beginning till now. My other Samurai is an injection, drives better too. :-)
@jeanmdoiron I know but with the stock axles it's too risky running 33" tires. We're trying to fit some Nissan Patrol axles form a 3.3 TD. They can hold up to 38" or so. ;-)
@AlfredoRoldanManzo Custom made, only ordered Fox shocks for the front suspension and added it to a home made customized chassis. In the back we putted 2 springs from our Lexus IS200 on eachother. Used 2 old Rancho 9000 absorbers. Check 0:50 for the suspension in the rear. ;-)
I'll get a car like this one day, but i'd rather a Vitara cos of the top heavy issue, abd the engine has more grunt, even tho Samurai looks better - old land cruiser look.
@MyAssGlobalWarmlol I recommand to buy a Samurai and swap the engine of a Vitara. ;D The 1.3 8v engine does things fine in the terrain but I like the 1.6 16v of the Vitara better. My second Samurai has a 1.3 injection and it drives better than the carb but I'm looking a 1.3 16v twincam engine of a Suzuki Swift Gti. :-) That's like 110 hp and yeah, global warming my ass. No suck thing as global warming. ;D
@ch1ld0fbodom haha, ok. it sounds tricky swappin the engine lol, but yeah one day i'll get some sort of suzuki 4x4, stick some mud tires and a cage around it and go into the jungle and see what it can do. i think it will outmanouvre most other 4x4 cos it's light and short wheelbase. i don't like the other brands of suv, they're freaking boring lol.
I like your opinion. ^^ If you only would drive it off road get a Samurai. The vitara has independent suspension in front and that really sucks. The Samurai is better customisable too. The 1.3 8v engine is working real good off road. If you would use it every I would recommand a Vitara. It drives good on the road and is faster too. But still my heart is with the Samurai. Once you had one you stick to it. :-) Put a winch on it too, a Samurai can break. ;-D
They are best to drive with in sand. But for mud they really suck. But thise AT's were used 10 years ago. Now we got Fedima Sirocco's. :-) They hey a great bite. They only suck at sandy terrain.
I was thinking of buying some ATs to go over lava rock here hawaii but i know ill get a flat. Then again I dont wanna buy mud tires to soft it will just get turned into hamburger.Ideas?
@ch1ld0fbodom Oh Im meaning to say the solidified lava after a volcano erupts.Just picture driving over broken glass cemented into place.Thats what i meant by lava rocks.
Ah, ok. Now I know what you mean. I've never driven there before. Check off road video's from Hawaii. Maybe you can see what kind of tires they mostly use. Maybe try to look for 'blackstar' of 'simex'. Silex is very expensive expensive but very durable. :-)
@markey808 I'm using Marshall A/T tires in my samurai and probably 2/3 of my travels for offroad I go to Pacaya Volcano, an active basaltic volcano and those tires are working good.
I've hit a pole last mont at 40 km/h. There was almost no damage. The Samurai you see in this video is my official off roader. My other one is almost standard. I only have Rhino-rims and an K&N open air filter. I'll upload footage of my little Sammie soon. Check my other videos too. ;-)
My dad bought it for me and I drive under his name. And that means a lower insurance too. They drive like buggies. When it's dry they drive pretty stiff on the road. But when it rained they are pretty dangerous. But you can drift pretty well with them. :-)
My Samurai to drive on the road has a 1.3 injection. It drives harder than a carb. I win against my dad his Nissan Pathfinder in high gears at acceleration. In low gears I can own a Range Rover till 80 km/h or so.. ;-)
can u buy a hard top roof for a soft top suzuki? i realy want to get 1 as my 1st car but the only ones i've seen are rag tops, i like the hard tops with the big read door
All the rest of you shut the fuck up!!! like the song says how he fuking wants too..either way that build is sick and probably better than half the people commenting anyways...I love my sammy good insperation to do this bro..keep it coming!!!!
I think as Samuraiowners we understand eachother. ;-) We know our Samurai is cheap, but they own.. We build it ourself cheap but it has an expensive emotional value for my dad and me, and probably you feel the same like me about it. My dad bought it around my birthdate and the little Sammy grew along with me. Nobody takes away my Sammy! :p
Look at Jeep Wranglers, Land Rover Defenders etc.. Call our Suzuki Samurai's real off roaders. It's a € 20.000 diffirence but our Sammy's still do more! ^_^
I dont know if i'd say the sidekick front suspension "sucks", mind you a cv axel wont take the abuse that a SAS set up will take, but it allows to keep the wheels more firmly planted on the ground through better wheel travel. My kick has 5 inches of lift with a locker in the back, the samurai i go wheeling with cant touch me in most situations
I can speak english well but I don't understand most of the terms you are saying. ;-) We see it as this. We offroad with people from our club that most have Samurais. They all pimped it and let it get built by a company who is specialised for that. We built our own Samurai with our own "special" suspension and it goes much further than others in flex. We don't have locked diffs because of the original axles. But in a mudhole we mostly can't get along with them. =)
If i were you. I would choose a Samurai for off roading. Parts are cheaper and the vitara has independant suspension in front so that sucks. But if you want parts I can give you an adress here in Belgium. The company is called dgtuning. Check it on google. We know these people very well. They are specialised in Suzuki, Land Rover and even build there own rock crawlers. ;-) We always buy our stuff there.
No, Actually we don't feel a thing. A friend of us got a Samurai with 38" and his engine is also a 1.3 and it really drives great. The Samurai only drinks like 18 liters/100km. ;-) Yeah, the 1.6 Vitara engines are real great! I bought a New Samurai and it has a 1.3i engine, runs real good down the street. In the future we will try to put Nissan Patrol Axles under the Samurai, they fit great and you can bogger in the mud all day. ;-)
Verhogen is illegaal.
awee..Boooo! I was trying to comment to previous comments individually.. I didnt know they would all show up together at the top....I fail.. lol. I suck at life haha Im gonna go off myself.
LOLZ!!!! @ 1:25 tilting the camera to make the hill angle look more extreme. Guess you feel the need to do that with a Sammy. Bet you stuff a sock in your pants, too.
Never needed one, never got deeper than 1.5m ;) We will install one when we got some time for that :) We don't like mud only, just doing our thing trough the forest and enjoying our suspension xD
Thnx for the post, i subscribed too for your video's ;)
Nope, we still use aold axles but we're looking for spidertrax.. Expensive too.. 1 thing you can't do with standard axles are ARB-lockers.. You just keep killing your axles with it.. We just bought the best tires and that's it.. xD thnx for the comment
Fedima Sirocco 33".. One bad thing is you can't use them on the streets, i like Fedima more then Simex or Maxxis.. Don't know why xD They have deeper profile too..
how much did this all cost?

I've hit a pole last mont at 40 km/h. There was almost no damage. The Samurai you see in this video is my official off roader. My other one is almost standard. I only have Rhino-rims and an K&N open air filter. I'll upload footage of my little Sammie soon. Check my other videos too. ;-)

nice nice, howz the insurance on them?
i'd love to have 1 as my 1st car and to learn in
mrpiehole 2 years ago
My dad bought it for me and I drive under his name. And that means a lower insurance too. They drive like buggies. When it's dry they drive pretty stiff on the road. But when it rained they are pretty dangerous. But you can drift pretty well with them. :-)
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
are they fast and fun to drive for a 1.3 engine
mrpiehole 2 years ago
My Samurai to drive on the road has a 1.3 injection. It drives harder than a carb. I win against my dad his Nissan Pathfinder in high gears at acceleration. In low gears I can own a Range Rover till 80 km/h or so.. ;-)
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
can u buy a hard top roof for a soft top suzuki? i realy want to get 1 as my 1st car but the only ones i've seen are rag tops, i like the hard tops with the big read door
mrpiehole 2 years ago
Yes, but it will cost. I don't know where to find them.
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
All the rest of you shut the fuck up!!! like the song says how he fuking wants too..either way that build is sick and probably better than half the people commenting anyways...I love my sammy good insperation to do this bro..keep it coming!!!!
VIsubby 2 years ago
I think as Samuraiowners we understand eachother. ;-) We know our Samurai is cheap, but they own.. We build it ourself cheap but it has an expensive emotional value for my dad and me, and probably you feel the same like me about it. My dad bought it around my birthdate and the little Sammy grew along with me. Nobody takes away my Sammy! :p
Look at Jeep Wranglers, Land Rover Defenders etc.. Call our Suzuki Samurai's real off roaders. It's a € 20.000 diffirence but our Sammy's still do more! ^_^
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
i like simple modifection
MRSUZUKI4X4410 2 years ago
We did it all our self. We figured out the suspension very well and built it very simple.. It's how we say: Suzukis are built, not bought. ;-)

If I'm a fag then I drove your dad last night. Didn't liked it so i fucked your mother and let your sister wash my 4x4..
Go fuck yourself if you don't know anything about 4x4 or even don't have one..

Good working zook ,looks like fun.I built an offroad pipe frame samurai that works great to .check out my video.
s00perflab 2 years ago
I dont know if i'd say the sidekick front suspension "sucks", mind you a cv axel wont take the abuse that a SAS set up will take, but it allows to keep the wheels more firmly planted on the ground through better wheel travel. My kick has 5 inches of lift with a locker in the back, the samurai i go wheeling with cant touch me in most situations
JohnJeep7 2 years ago
I can speak english well but I don't understand most of the terms you are saying. ;-) We see it as this. We offroad with people from our club that most have Samurais. They all pimped it and let it get built by a company who is specialised for that. We built our own Samurai with our own "special" suspension and it goes much further than others in flex. We don't have locked diffs because of the original axles. But in a mudhole we mostly can't get along with them. =)
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
Ummmm..should you be going wheelin with a samurai whos been trying to touch' you in any situation? Thats just gay.
tisnyne777 2 years ago
Who said the driver of the Samurai was a dude? Keep your backwoods homosexual fantasy to yourself.
JohnJeep7 2 years ago
Lol,,,c'mon it was a funny comment though u must admit.

Honestly, ya, I did get a good laugh

ive got a vitara 1.6 ive started offroadin it got a body lift but need bigger shocks wheres the best place??
sk8atchelt1 2 years ago
If i were you. I would choose a Samurai for off roading. Parts are cheaper and the vitara has independant suspension in front so that sucks. But if you want parts I can give you an adress here in Belgium. The company is called dgtuning. Check it on google. We know these people very well. They are specialised in Suzuki, Land Rover and even build there own rock crawlers. ;-) We always buy our stuff there.

Grand Vitara rims. 16" I guess. I don't know it exactly..

zookcrew 2 years ago
hey.. surely with the size of the wheels and tyres, the eingine is under powered?? not enough torque??
usually we put 1.6 vitara engines in them.. nice truck though!
mtbolly 2 years ago
No, Actually we don't feel a thing. A friend of us got a Samurai with 38" and his engine is also a 1.3 and it really drives great. The Samurai only drinks like 18 liters/100km. ;-) Yeah, the 1.6 Vitara engines are real great! I bought a New Samurai and it has a 1.3i engine, runs real good down the street. In the future we will try to put Nissan Patrol Axles under the Samurai, they fit great and you can bogger in the mud all day. ;-)
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
christd77 2 years ago

TehThomaz 2 years ago
Verhogen is illegaal. XD
ch1ld0fbodom 2 years ago
Das waar.. In België mag inderdaad NIX.. Echt spijtig! Maarjah wa doen we dr aan ;)
Bedankt vr het antwoord!

LOLZ!!!! @ 1:25 tilting the camera to make the hill angle look more extreme. Guess you feel the need to do that with a Sammy. Bet you stuff a sock in your pants, too.
DRTYFN 3 years ago
The part I was standing on was flat, too bad you are blind to see that. Go drive your mother her yugo.
ch1ld0fbodom 3 years ago
Maybe. But you still tilted the camera to exaggerate the angle.

LiamPearlDrumsInsane 3 years ago
Never needed one, never got deeper than 1.5m ;) We will install one when we got some time for that :) We don't like mud only, just doing our thing trough the forest and enjoying our suspension xD
ch1ld0fbodom 3 years ago

Thanks ;) The song is 'my life my way' from Janez Detd, also an Belgian Artist xD
ch1ld0fbodom 3 years ago
nice... i wouldn't mind doing that to a tracker or other similar compact... i'm loving the comanche thing
JeepXJ8895 3 years ago
Nice ZUKI!
You have reiforced the axles (e.g. halfshafts and cv joints) to run the 33" tires ?
CIAO
cocopolo 3 years ago
Nope, we still use aold axles but we're looking for spidertrax.. Expensive too.. 1 thing you can't do with standard axles are ARB-lockers.. You just keep killing your axles with it.. We just bought the best tires and that's it.. xD thnx for the comment
ch1ld0fbodom 3 years ago
best tires?
kauaiboy89 3 years ago
Fedima Sirocco 33".. One bad thing is you can't use them on the streets, i like Fedima more then Simex or Maxxis.. Don't know why xD They have deeper profile too..
