I played Doom *plenty* when I was 5 and watched my dad play Wolfenstein 3D before that. No harm done- I'm no sociopath (and if fact I'm training to do the opposite: prevent them). At his age, he's just being a hero and beating up the 'bad guys.' There's no concept of death, nor is there any concept of pleasure at doing harm here. Batman & Power Rangers both work under the same concept. It's alright, really. Just don't approve of him acting like he's shooting real people while you're in WalMart.

They were only in 1st grade, all they were talking about was Left 4Dead and who they were going to play as and so on. It's hardly unusual for kids to play cops & robbers (or some variant of it, as with this). Unless the kid ends up with a stingy teacher, I think things will generally be alright, in all honesty. What's more, it could be argued that games like cops & robbers introduce the ideas of good and evil, right and wrong a little more so than parenting lessons do (or in different ways at least), so games of that sort would be perfectly natural, as kids do them of their own accord. Just a thought.

Just a note to Kitsune....The game this "two year old" is emulating is M 17+. That should mean something to gamers who love these types of games. This video could give the

"anti-violent game movement" fuel to protest. I like to be able to play this game without parents ruining it for the rest of us.

Note: Kitsume- Schools have become more stingy about the gun subject. Thanks to gangs. If he roll plays like he is doing in the video, the boy could be in violation.

I can't argue with you there, Ninefingers1010, it could definitely provide fuel to the anti-violent video game movement, albeit weak fuel at that (it's not as though he bludgeoned his parents to death with a shovel or anything, the more popular 'evidence' (contested) which groups against violent video games like to seek out).

You are no doubt also right that the kid will likely be highly discouraged against this in pre-school, although I don't think play like this truly "wrong."

The kid actually seems pretty darn awesome, really. Given this video at least, I'd say his Dad (and Mom, presumably, although we don't see her here) is doing well- the fact that he even filmed this is a sign that he's proud of his son. Ignore that it's a "gun" (like playing cops & robbers ever hurt anyone, lol), the awesome dude likely has little concept of death, and by this alone will not become a serial killer or anything. Lighten up a bit folks- Aidan's having a blast ;)
