  • Look at Eric Clapton he never sold his soul he has fame and money too! what has selling your soul got to do with playing a guitar ?

  • How do we have know this guy knows what he's talking about? I'm sure the local blacks in the area have been conning visitors for years.

  • @washboardblues Then don't go there, simple.

  • Amazing Video

  • Mr.Hoover nice man that's keeping Black History alive he have a store and musuem & Tours in (Baptist town)Greenwood Ms.I attended Robert Johnson 100th Birthday celebration in May on Mother's Day 2011.My Great Aunt stayed on the same street Young St were robert Johnson died.Filmmakers was there @ the celebration.I'm from Louisiana.

  • My mom is convinced that our family is somehow related to Robert Johnson.

  • Its strange you bring a different race to your country and treat them as inferiors what does that say about you? i am glad its 2011 yo!

  • I heard that the devil never promised him money, he promised him a supernatural prowess with the guitar, also, whiskey and women. So I hope he had plenty of both!

  • Robert has amazed me from the first listening. Haunted and fearless his hoo doo lives forever. Much appreciation to the makers of this clip. R.J -rest in peace my man.

  • Isn't that Corey Harris at 0:37 to 0:41 ?

  • Isn't that Corey Harris at 0:37 to 0:41 ?

  • great video.

  • so nobody really knows where RJ is really buried at

  • Here's a drink to you Robert Johnson... wherever you are. RIP. Che

  • I was at this spot in 1988, before the tombstone was placed there. Some locals pointed it out to me. I've been a fan of Johnson's music for decades and over the years I met several people who knew him, saw the other alleged gravesites and I think this one is the most likely to be the true one. Thank you so much for posting this. I'll visit your page right now & see what Ms Rosie Estridge has to say about it!

  • great video! thanks for posting it! robert johnson rip

  • Well robert if the affter life is as crule as the life of the living ill have a drink for ya ill see ya in hell

  • the guy talking in the video is COUNTRYYYYYY lol hes pretty awesome

  • @wmarcus1203 It's not COUNTRYYYYYY....it's the South. There is a difference. ;)

  • wow. it would be nice to know more about him

  • Arsenic poisoning is a real bitch. The King of the 27 club who's soul may have gone to the crossroad but his name will be loarded as the birth of the blues.

  • I find this interesting about how the guy says that is a place blacks were buried back in the day. But im skeptical of Robert Johnson being buried there. Arent there 3 different sites with grave stones of Robert Johnson? Hmm, if they really want to know why dont they dig him up? lol well even that would be tough. Its not like he have dental records. But DNA could prove it, his son and grandson are still alive!!!

  • I am very happy about how this movie ends. After all his troubles, Robert believes in Jesus as his Saviour. I find it more important than his grave site being here or there

  • omg how could a legen be burried in such a bad grave

  • Man, this is a great video. Some really sad information though, it's terrible to know how black people were treated in this country for so long. I mean, I'm a white guy and it even pisses me off, so I can't even imagine.

As a fellow musician, Robert Johnson is one of my heroes. It's wonderful to see this video, even though it's sad.

I'd like to visit him myself, some day.

  • Great Video!!!

  • Thank you very much for this interesting information

    hugs x

  • Without people like Robert L. Johnson, there would have been no Rock-n-Roll. He and others like him started it all.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Johnson.

  • Is it may possible to get the geo data ... ? Where is it? If it´s true, I´d like to go there some time ... I´m German and the music from RJ changed my life ... after I´ve heard The Gun Club ...

  • Robert Johnson R.I.P.

  • i wana go there and pay my respects to a man who changed music and inspired musicans

  • Fuck man .. Just hearing about the way things used to be turns my stumach, I'm happy things are changing over these decennia.

Lets hope in another 50 years racism will be completely gone.

  • At last, I am waiting for the time when we apologize to the red man, the true native american. Genius mostly came out of suppression, man

  • i have heard every musician and all their

works.but NONE scare me like roberts

music does! that sense of urgency that

he portrays is unlike others, ledbelly is

scary at times too!!! yes! jesus will

take robert intp his kingdom! amen!

  • with whos soul

  • good call shibe123 haha

  • actually, he's probably in hell. what with the womanizing, the drinking and the selling his soul to the devil. it only makes sense. my favorite guitarist ever though.

  • OH MAN WHAT A STORY MAKES U REALLY THINK whats really out there great upload much respect

    R.I.P R.Johnson

  • Now, really. Were you there?

  • Yeah i was, thats how i know. I wasnt at his bedside when he died though so i'm not sure if he asked for forgiveness.

Also the man stated it many times himself(sold my soul) ....Research the man and listen to his lyrics.

  • You seem to think I haven`t. Why reduce your "argument" to name calling? I`m just saying rumours get started, distorted, then grow. Chill, dude.

  • he claimed it all the time, he started the whole "i sold my soul" thing in music. idiot, that if what this guy is known for.

  • It's just a story, no ones knows if it's true or not.

  • if it's just a story then it's a story that came from his own lips.

  • Not necessarily, it could have come from someone else's lips.

  • the man claimed it all the time, stop trying to be in denial.

  • Are you serious?

  • There are actually 3 Robert Johnson graves in the Greenwood area, as well as a potters field where he was supposedly actually buried initially, but then supposedly a family member had him disinterred and moved to another location.

  • Please see the EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT of RJ's burial by Ms. Rosie Estridge located on thedeltamediaproject home page. It settles the dispute.

  • @fdspokane Damn Straight! The man is dead and still on tour!

  • @fdspokane just curious aboutwhat dave"honeyboy"edwards said about his dying and his burial.is this were dave said he was buried.i know that dave said he showed john hammond jr were the house is that robert died in, is daves story consistant with what i just viewed?

  • Really interesting thanks alot for uploading

  • this is one of two graves. the other grave is about 15 mins from greenwood where this one is located. also has a memorial close to swiftown.

  • More recent research by Sylvester Hoover of Greenwood, MS (including statements from Rosie Eskridge, the wife of the supposed gravedigger) locate the grave site under a big pecan tree in the cemetery of the Little Zion Church north of Greenwood along Money Road. A full Blues Trail Marker ceremony was held by the Mississippi Development Authority and Blues Commission in the spring of 2007. Johnson's grandson Steve, CEO of the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation, spoke and sang at this ceremony.

  • We evac'd during the hurricane to Greenwood. We visited his grave. No one celebrates, they leave gifts. Thanks Robert Johnson!

    Personal note: RIP Maddie.

  • awesome and interesting thank you for posting this

  • Very interesting video. I am so glad there are folks who are preserving the history of an american legend and hero Robert Johnson.

  • RIP Mr. J.

  • Greenwood land is blessed.

  • cool stuff.

  • How come you cant see the video??

I was down there around that time. It was really cool.
