may sound like detonation,was just spark scatter,got motor apart for routine check,pistons ,bearings,etc look like the day they were put in 300 passes ago.I'm having fun beating up a stock block,4100 pound street car that goes low 8's on 275 drag radials....

damn. that motor ran terrible. valve float, timing is off, bad spark plugs/wires, or the worst detonation problem i have ever seen.

Those S400's are a great bang-for-the-buck, that's for sure. Congrats on the Drag Week results, I was bummed that HotRod didn't cover much on the competitors though. I wait all year for that issue, lookin' to compete in Street Race Power Adder in about 2 years.

in 1986 I bought a 65 "chevy nova II" wagon off an old lady for 600 bucks, medium blue with blue vinal interior, 2 speed powerglide, power steering, 194 "L Head" 6 cylinder. I had it for 5 years. I would have kept it forever but alas the massachusetts winters and salted roads really took its toll on it. Too bad....it good very good highway gas milage

Wow is all i can say. I Mlooking to put 2 turbos on my 65 nova wagon....tric k is I dont wantto get rid of the twin blowers , intercooler or 660's. IM not looking to break records with it at teh track but would like to makea few respectable passes . I drive it regularly but im sure once i get a good pass I wil race it more then drive it. I use it to attract attention for my chrome shop. IM impressed with the caltracks...wow

front is a chris alston front clip,withnon adjustable coil overs. rear is caltrac leafs,caltrac bars,stock shocks.leafs moved inboard to fit 275 60 dragradials.that pass only netted a 1.48 60 ft, just got back from dragweek, and pulled a1.38 60 ft.
