yeah i molded it with bondo any other questions just let me know. But if you have a nice car with no rust and the body is good, i prefer not adding a body kit because the body lines on the stock car are nice already. Use the money you have for either the motor or a paint job if u need one

I would go with the Camaro ss all day. The eclipse isnt turbo anymore and you cannot push as much power out of it as the old ones. Too much money, time, and investment.

I'll agree, some body kits look nice but the majority of the time they pick the worst body kits, throw a "OMG OVER 9000" Horsepower wing on the back and throw a fart can on (that also gives 2,000 more horse power because a fart can is obviously needed to make the car better/faster).
I did not have to cut the doors, but I did have to heat up the fiber glass to make it flex. You have to heat it up pretty hot too, dont think a blow dryer is going to work, because it wont lol. Anything else just let me know.

I would stick with the stock fenders if you could, but I had to replace mine because someone hit them before I bought the car and they put a shit ton of bondo on them. With the z3's they dont fit so well, they fit but with the kit added on we need to mold the shit out of it to make it look show quality

Well the finished product turned out awesome, i saved for a turbo kit, new ecu, fuel pump, injectors, the whole works, but that summer was the beginning of college so i ended up buying my laptop and tons of other shit i need. I sold the car last summer for 4k and bought an Yamaha R6. Finally got my money back up and now looking to buy a gst-or gsx but all stock.

the only thing i'd advise you to do before you paint it, is that you get rid of all the bondo that is moulding the kit to the bode and replace it with fiberglass. i know its a pain in the ass to do, but bondo doesn't flex as much as the body kit does and it WILL EVENTUALLY CRACK. fiberglass can flex and will not crack. it's up to you, but trust me, cracked paint looks like shit.

I don't understand what you are asking when you said breakes? But i took small metal rods that i cut to the length of the distance from the front bumped to the sub-frame. Then i heated the rods and bent them to a circle at each end. That allowed me to bolt right through the circle with a washer on the top of it to the frame, and the other end to the bumper. It looked perfect and lookes great. You cant even notice it from an eyes view.

Yeah im done doing the body work bullshit. I am buying another one this summer. 97-99 gsx eclipse. All wheel drive turbo. The motor can turn out easily 400 hp with just a few parts. Greta car and I actually am going to keep it all stock this time except for the performance part of it.
When I bought the car it was green, I honestly think the green may have come from the Dodge Charger SRT but Im not 100% sure. Lambo green is a possibility but who ever owned it before I did all this work must have dropped a pretty penny for a Lambo color. So it probably not likely
Actually if you could give me any information at all on how to make the whole process easier that would be great. I work at a body shop and haev access to all the tools and watnot. Also i take it you diddnt shave the front bumper because you couldnt install the lights after paint... body work is a bitch.
We installed the lights after paint. search eclipse gs drift body kit. its the finished thing with lights and all. What we did was sand the shit out of the holes for the reverse light and made them a little bigger then normal to allow paint and primer and clear to fit. We then used 3mm double sided tape to keep them in place. To make the kit easier to install try heating it up to make it more flexible. Anything else let me know, i dont have the car anymore but i remember like it was yesterday

I would go with extreme dimensions as they have been around for a long time and all of their kits use a dura-flex company which is really reliable and flexable. Also Sarona website looked good but trying to find what u needed was bullshit. Id go with Extreme Dimensions or Sarona.

We thought of that problem. I designed steel rods that we heated and flexed to a certain point. We bolted the rods to the frame of the car and then bolted the rods to the kit itself. It actually worked great, for 2 yrs and no stress cracks. Sold the car now though.

I ended up getting $4,000 for it which sucks because i bought it for 3800, and put like 2 into it. It only had 96,000 miles when i sold it and ran perfect. it looks good dont get my wrong. every single one of my friends that have put a body kit on their car had to mod the kit to get it to fit. i personally think it is a waste of time and money. i think the 2g looks good with the stock bumpers. what i did was lower the shit outa mine. tokico blue struts and matrix coils. my motor is the 420a 2.0 stroked out to a 2.3 that project was a never ending battle of finding parts while the bill kept going up and up

Yeah im done doing the body work bullshit. I am buying another one this summer. 97-99 gsx eclipse. All wheel drive turbo. The motor can turn out easily 400 hp with just a few parts. Greta car and I actually am going to keep it all stock this time except for the performance part of it.

When I bought the car it was green, I honestly think the green may have come from the Dodge Charger SRT but Im not 100% sure. Lambo green is a possibility but who ever owned it before I did all this work must have dropped a pretty penny for a Lambo color. So it probably not likely

Actually if you could give me any information at all on how to make the whole process easier that would be great. I work at a body shop and haev access to all the tools and watnot. Also i take it you diddnt shave the front bumper because you couldnt install the lights after paint... body work is a bitch.

We installed the lights after paint. search eclipse gs drift body kit. its the finished thing with lights and all. What we did was sand the shit out of the holes for the reverse light and made them a little bigger then normal to allow paint and primer and clear to fit. We then used 3mm double sided tape to keep them in place. To make the kit easier to install try heating it up to make it more flexible. Anything else let me know, i dont have the car anymore but i remember like it was yesterday

i fabricated brackets which bolted to the rear bumper on the left and right and ran them to the frame which kept the bumper from vibrating a lot in high winds. So no it did not crack after 2 yrs. it only cracked when i backed into something lol

we shaved the kit with sanders and mini saws. We used fiberglass just for some part of the door jams to make the skirts look like they are part of the car. We used bondo for the quarters

I would go with extreme dimensions as they have been around for a long time and all of their kits use a dura-flex company which is really reliable and flexable. Also Sarona website looked good but trying to find what u needed was bullshit. Id go with Extreme Dimensions or Sarona.

wrong again, my 10 2SS/RS without a limiter (of course when you remove this capability, you have to re-tune) on a test run in Dallas ran 166.5mph, not at all windy, is it stable? well its not the most aerodynamic thing out there, my vette does 190mph stock however, ive never gone past 145 in it

and keep in mind, the only eclipse i saw that i respected was stock on the outside, and 11.87 on the track. the kid was in high school, and knew his stuff, and his father knows how to tune. 98 turbo eclipse gsx or something. new eclipse will never hit 165 and expect it to hold the road.
period. its like saying a 87 Grand National can handle 150mph stock.

We thought of that problem. I designed steel rods that we heated and flexed to a certain point. We bolted the rods to the frame of the car and then bolted the rods to the kit itself. It actually worked great, for 2 yrs and no stress cracks. Sold the car now though.

actually body kits do increase the resale value atleast some. look on ebay and other sites and youll see they do improve the value. and yes i think that body kits make certain kinds of cars look nicer. how is it any worse then taking a car that has all kinds of scratches and dents and fixing the dents and getting the paint done? it just makes the car look nicer. and who says that just because the body of the car has some work done that it must be a crappy car?

I ended up getting $4,000 for it which sucks because i bought it for 3800, and put like 2 into it. It only had 96,000 miles when i sold it and ran perfect. So make your asking price high, but let people take you down to what u actually what. Its all business man, thats what i major in at school so i know the game lol good luck

not sayin the work your doin isnt good. the car is riced out. the only thing looks wise to my 2g is the paint going on it next week and the rims. everything else is stock. putting body kits and fenders on the car does nothing for performance. all the money i put into mine has been put into the engine and suspension

it looks good dont get my wrong. every single one of my friends that have put a body kit on their car had to mod the kit to get it to fit. i personally think it is a waste of time and money. i think the 2g looks good with the stock bumpers. what i did was lower the shit outa mine. tokico blue struts and matrix coils. my motor is the 420a 2.0 stroked out to a 2.3 that project was a never ending battle of finding parts while the bill kept going up and up
