I'm surprised noone didn't make a random comment saying "Mario Kart Ripoff.". Now since Sonic has a another kart game coming out on the 360, ppl are all of sudden saying "Oh look, it's a Mario Kart ripoff.".
Yeah, it is pretty stupid. People keep on calling games like this MK ripoffs just because it has similar gameplay. Who says MK is the only game that have that sort of gameplay?
It kind of reminds me of whenever people accuse IG of being an AVGN ripoff because he does a similar thing on Youtube. They both swear a lot, their reviews are irrational, and they both have low tempers; that doesn't make IG a copycat.
Agreed. Look closely and they're completly different. Only similarity is people racing in karts. MK is probably the worst one as well. CTR has been my fave game since i was 4, and i am 14 now. On august 31st earlier this year it was exactly 10 years since my mum got me it for my birthday. Best present i ever got. I couldn't thank my mum enough.

i remember when my dad first got this game (i was 2 or 3) he got the really old fashioned cheat book and got all the characters. he tried this one with penta penguin and came 1st. then he tried with purra and came last! (oops =P)

Pinstripe I thought was the hardest one (besides Oxide) because:
1. I raced him on Hot Air Skyway (I hate that track).
2. The bombs were hard to avoid.
