I've been goin to AFI shows since '97...when they played with Sick Of It All, Strife, Vision of Disorder, and Snapcase. I think they're better and a much tighter sounding band now than they were back then and were probably the most talented HxC band to come out of that scene...with the exception of probably Snapcase.

i think its easy to say a band sold out when they get popular. afi was an underground band for so long that i dont think anybody really expected them to go mainstream. but it happend really gradually. and i think thats were alot of the like "what the fuck, there big now?" came from. but yeah the music has changed alot. but its more of an evolving change throughout there cds as oppose to a one huge change.
