It's kind of ironic that everyone says Elena and Anton were robbed at this competition, and then at the Olympics Elena and Anton robbed Sale and Pelletier of their deserved win (which all worked out in the end... just sayin...)
@aphroditewitch Yes, Elena and Anton should have won this, but this Worlds was skated in Canada. I liked both pairs, but really thought (and still do think) that B&S had such a superior program and technique. Oh, well , no matter what the judging system, I often feel angry and frustrated over the results.
I've always been a fan of both couples, and I've seen both programs several times. Neither was flawless--Jamie singled the axel, while Elena and Anton had a low landing on the triple twist and he had a scratchy landing on his double axel. Artistically, very different programs, both choreographically inventive and beautiful in their own ways. All things considered, I think it could have gone either way.
everything else was P E R F E C T. lifts are better than the russians aswell. the step out only cost them about .1 that was their only mistake. i think the end result was fair. the two or three minor glitches that the russians had that might of cost them .1 each was the deciding factor.
Jamie's step out in short and single axel in long!!!!!!!!!!! They won just because of home support! BTW I AM NOT RUSSIAN BUT ELENA AND ANTON WERE MUCH BETTER!!!! Try to be objective!!!!!!!!
Glad to have finally found this. They are fun to watch, despite what quibbles some have about their technical merit. Too bad so many are so touchy about it...seriously, grow up, people.
Why are you even bothering to allow comments when it's obvious someone is just giving thumbs down to perfectly reasonable statements they disagree with. Whatever, people, get a life.
Anyway, I've been looking for this program, so thanks for uploading.
I was lucky enough to be able to attend this event. The Canadians in this crowd were so enthusiatic (some, before the event actually started, had come to their seats with air horns and those who refused to give these up were ejected). This must have put so much pressure on S and P, who were already under pressure skating in their home country. Wonderful performance, lots of energy and emotion. They deserved their gold medal.
Amazing program!!! They totally diserved the gold medal here and at the olympics in Salt Lake...they are an amazing pair and I hope that they continue skating for years to come!!

I was glad when they won this .. I always felt that B & S were over-rated.

Sale and Pelletier have great chemistry. I also like their speed and how they seem to float over the ice.

Elena and Anton were robbed at this event. And they handled it with dignity. Sale and Pelletier are just so boring to watch.

They are average in so many ways --- edging, body line, speed, extension.
