It was meant to shame the victim. Hell is a part of the honor/shame system. By shunning a sovereign god, we reject his honor. We are rewarded with a proportionate amount of shame in hell. I was wondering if u could bring Kabane52 & KabanetheChristian together and explain how u reconcile your belief that 100% of the Bible is true but u still believe in evolution. Please explain using evidence of how both are true.
having a hard time with how it can be proven the world is 4.5 billion years old. Lack of good transitional fossils. Richard Dawkins is a asshole.
Also how to prove the major Bible stories atheist use to discredit the bible. Tower of Babel, Noah's ark etc are true.

One of the main reasons christians resist the theory of evolution, IMHO, is that they are afraid that if they admit that the creation story of Genesis is mythological, then that means that all of the bible cannot be taken literally. So my question is: how do you know what parts of the bible are to be taken literally, and what parts are to be taken mythologically? For example (cont)

(cont, to Kabane52) Sure, we can't take the creation story literally, but that isn't a threat to your faith. So, would it be a threat to your faith if we couldn't take the authorship of II Peter literally? If so, why? How can you tell which parts of the bible are to be taken literally and which are not to be taken literally?

Where in the evolutionary process did humans get a soul? There aren't really any clear cut "step" in the evolutionary process it's is more of a flow. So how and when did god decide to put the soul in?
And #2.. Why put the soul in when he did? We are not the final product of evolution right? Evolution is going on as we speak, seems silly to give a soul to a transitional being.

How can you uphold the theory of evolution which requires 4.5 billion years to "work" and affirm the historicity of Jesus Christ being the Son of God?
Christ not only affirms a literal 6 day creation in the NT, but He actually states in Exodus 20:11 that He made them in six days and rested on the seventh.
I think if you look at it theologically, you are between a rock and a hard place, either Christ is correct and YEC is true or Christ lied and we live in vain.

I don't know if you hate AIG like most of the other evolutionists on here, but the reason I used their link for source is because it has all the verses I'm talking about in the previous point.
I can pull out the same verses and reach the same conclusion, I could go further, but I'm sure you understand what I'm talking about. If your interpretation of science overrides the correct interpretation of the scriptures, give up what man says. link will be in next comment.

The "Word" in that passage is Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Now, if Christ is the active agent in the creation of the world and speaks in Mark 10:6:But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.'
We are left with two options: A.) Christ purposefully lied to the people who were ignorant of "scientific discoveries" in His age. B.) Christ was ignorant on the subject of the future "scientific discoveries"
Both are false, therefore Christ taught YEC.

I have been following you for a while now. I notice you put most of your "faith" in the resurrection claims of Jesus.
My question is this. We have credible military personal that claim to have seem UFO and have some form of communication with them. These people are alive and some well known.
Based on the same principle that you believe in the resurrection claim will you now also believe that there are UFO "aliens" among us?

Yup. For example, substance dualism, property dualism, and all the varieties of materialism/physicalism (i.e. type physicalism, token physicalism, eliminative materialism, etc.). So yeah... the nature of the mind, soul, body, spirit, etc.
If you haven't given the idea much thought I'd highly recommend doing so. It's really interesting stuff. :-)
