Harry/Martha proved them wrong by going to save the people they loved. Seeing the people they loved in danger gave the strength to overcome the villian in the end. The only thing that is really different is that Harry had Hermione and Ron to help him and Martha had to do everything on her own without any support or anybody that really ared about her. @becca3ff Martha didn't love the Doctor. The writers did things on purpose to show that. She fell in love with him right from the off showing that she didn't love the Doctor she loved the idea of him. Martha also got over him quickly and that isn't love.
Rose and him found eachother and loved eachother because they both had that bond that both of them weren't happy with their lives on their home planets. Something was missing in their lives and the Doctor herlped Rose find it.

From how strict we saw francene was it was obvious that Martha's mother didn't let Martha have time for boys and friends- she had to worry about her studies. If someone I had my first real crush on didn't like me back I would be upset too.

@hessian1235 That's why I always liked season 1 Rose because she did stand up for herself to the Doctor and she told him off when she needed to, but Martha tells him once in Gridlock that he needs to tell her something and everybody hates her? I don't understand it. I love Martha and she was amazing. If people can't realise that it's their loss-just like it was the Doctor's. Not to mention everyone says she was jealous of Rose and that's why they didn't like her.

@hessian1235 Martha was upset because the Doctor was always calling her worthless and useless and trying to kick her out of the TARDIS. So of course she was upset. That had nothing to do with Rose. As for the 'she was blonde' comment that people also use as a reasonw hy they don't like Martha, that was Martha saying oh of course he is love with a guy's ultimate fantasy and I guarantee you that

@hessian1235 Martha was thinking of Annalise and thinking about how her father left her mother for Annalise, but noone empathises with that do they? No of course people don't sympathise or empathise with Martha. Let's just be happy that Rose isn't like Annliese. Thanks for agreeing with me by the way. It's very rare I meet someone who doesn't despise Martha.

Not to mention the fact that her heart got completely broken. Major sympathy points from me. And she did what no girl has done before, she broke the Doctor's heart COMPLETELY. I mean he was literally going bananas for a while over losing her.
She was the love of his life.(David Tennent said it and I agree.X))
Plus Rose and Doc cuteness is the equivalent of ecstacy. So glad shes back.

Brotjer was a typo of brother, I adore Dr Who and Rose was my favourite character(next to Jack) for a long time so it made sense, first name being Rose, to come up with the nickname Rose Tyler. My GCSE Biology teacher took to calling me that!

@RoseTylerxx I think that's because Martha loved the idea of the Doctor...not him. She fell 'in love with him too fast and she got over him too fast. If you're in love with someone you never get over them. Even Freema says Martha's character 'outgrew' the doctor. She got over her first real crush. She didn't love him. Rose did.

Ya see folks,I like rose more.. they had more laughs and fun and more 'relationship' and so be honest, I dont really like Martha she always rolls her eyes when the doctor meantions rose and is not even sad for him cleary I think rose is more kind even if Martha is a medical student, WTH.

@josieruby1 Martha wasn't jealous of Rose. From how strict we saw francene was it was obvious that Martha's mother didn't let Martha have time for boys and friends- she had to worry about her studies. Then her first real crush she's able to get close to she goes traveling with. From the start of it she thinks he likes her because he kissed her so she thinks he likes her and she likes the idea of him. If someone I had my first real crush on didn't like me back I would be upset too.

@josieruby1 She wasn't jealous of Rose. She probably assumed (from the little he did tell her about Rose) that Rose left him and he was still upset about her leaving. Martha was upset because the guy she liked didn't like her back. That was all. Rose and him bonded over that they were both trying to escape from their lives, but Martha had nothing to escape from. Martha was kind and caring. She left the Doctor so she could go take care of her family because she cared about them.

@josieruby1 Martha(even in Smith and jones) shows she was kind and caring. She was the peacekeeper in her family. She cared about them and took care of them. She even left behind her adventures with the Doctor just because she felt so guilty for abondoning them in the first place. She left to go take care of them because she loved them and she realised what was really important.

@Muffinscool Martha never rolled her eyes when he mentioned Rose. She was disappointed the Doctor didn't like her that's all Martha never huffed at him or rolled her eyes. Martha never stood up to the Doctor like Rose did. She was his doormat sadly. She didn't stand up to him. I love Rose, but you can't say Rose is more caring when she left Jackie and Mickey behind to worry about her when martha left ~the Doctor~ just to go take care of her family. :)

Couldn't agree more! People always talk about how different Rose and Martha are, but if you look at the episodes closely, in a lot of ways their behavious is the same.
