@epcdaniel I agree with you. If I could move my arms and not my legs, I'd be fine with that, but having no appendage function at all would just kill me.
I would probably be okay if I became a paraplegic.. But a quadriplegic - I'd rather be dead. I have no interest in being such a burden on others and never being able to even feed myself or do my job (which requires sitting for the most part). I'm glad he was able to walk again 'cause I understand the lack of will in living in the condition he was prognosed.
If I were to guess what was shown in the "Next" preview for this segment, I'd say it either showed Will cutting down the tree, him falling or his family searching for him. As for what interview clip was shown, here are my top three guesses: The one where John mentions that Matt wasn't familiar with the ranch and how that hindered the search, where Matt mentions the dangers of climbing a tree or when John mentions the anxiety of not knowing if they were searching for Will in the right spot.
@lonestar451 theres lots of ppl that get on here and know the ppl in the videos. every once in awhile you'll get a few victims from the show .....so why dont u calm down? who the fuck pissed in ur cheerios
In 1995 Christopher Reeve was riding a horse and he fell off and broke his neck and hurt his spail cord and he couldn't work his arms or his legs and christopher reeve had to use a wheelchair and he had to use a tube to help him breath and it is ture
that is truly amazing..i cried while watchin this one...i agree with speedysweetheart..this is truly a CHRISTmas miracle...thank God for giving that family the very best gift they could ever ask for...God bless the doctors and all those who worked to save him
I bet it was horrendously scary for him. It was even scary for me to watch too. William was likely the luckiest kid in the whole wide world for those few months.
Today one of the doctors told me the RN was wrong about something that, a week ago, I had trouble believing was true anyway.
But she thought my opinion was of little value, so I kept my mouth shut.
She'll be awfully disappointed to know that Dr. F. disagreed with her statement about why the patient had a rising fever after going into hypovolemic shock from losing so much fluid after being violently sick all day.
I'm not a doctor or nurse, but I know one thing, if Will's family hadn't of gotten that board or any of that equipment to mobilze or stablize his back or neck, they are probably some of the reasons why Will's walking today.
@NDW85 Yeah, learn how to stabilize a neck and back. A C-collar is not expensive, learn how to apply it, and backboards can be improvised with some rope and branches.... Train with your tools: A little education can save someone's mobility...
My friend's mom and dad drove six hours through bad weather to see their daughter, who was paralyzed by a drunk driver. Who, to this day, hasn't walked even though she's continued to try since 1988 when it first happened.
Her accident was caused by stupidity of another person who, to this day, has never shown remorse for what he did.
I don't like when any accidents happen but that one seems worse b/c it was preventable.

Yes, Will is married and has 5 boys. Met his brother today who told a brief recap of this very scary and emotional story. Very inspiring.

It was frightening how he fell 40 ft. from the tree.

This episode is really sad I feel bad for that kid. Im so happy he could walk again.
I hope he's doing better now.

Poor Will. I hope he's all right. Today he'd be 37 years old. He may not be able to do some things he used to do, but he's still the same.

he could actually be married 2!! -D

I love the spirit of these folks. I think these episodes should be shown around on TV again. We could gain a lot from them.

You don't have to be a doctor or nurse to know something like that. It's common sence.
