Dr. C. Werener truly gives optometry a bad name. How can you go through four years of under-graduate work (with some science I presume), followed by four years in optometry college, and not know anything about basic science?
He talks about rationality, then he says "And may God have mercy on your soul." Pity... up until that point I was hoping he didn't believe in an all-powerful sky-fairy.

@mezla I think that most people, even if completely atheist, use that phrase for "My word, I have supreme pity for you, you pathetic sod"
It just sounds... nicer, perhaps? Like you wish them well? Quite a backhanded statement really
