Madonna helped to break down barriers for women in music in the 1980s and early 90s by pushing the envelope on subjects that were considered to be taboo. To imply Madonna lacks depth only reveals a lack of eduction of Madonna's catalog: Like a Prayer, Evita, Ray of Light, Confessions.
