I need some help - last time I played the final GDI mission (C&C Gold), I clearly destroyed the temple with the Ion Cannon... and yet I got the ending movie where Kane is buried under rubble.

Am I doing something wrong?

It wasn't necessary to get the Ion Cannon ending. It was more of an easter egg. Destroying the Temple of Nod was sufficient for meeting the victory conditions.

Incidentally, "Ride of the Valkyries" by Wagner was on the game's soundtrack.

I know this because I used to bolt together levels for C&C Original and if you put "Musictrack = Valkyrie" in the level's INI file it played it.

But of course, any level with that backing track has to involve helicopters ;)

This game is fun. Have just gotten to the mission where you have to stop a NOD (yes, i know it does'nt stand for anything) convoy passing through a valley. Which is the 2n'nd to last mission in the GDI campaign

The slab of red stone, that has been excavated, at 1:55 shows, in my opinion, a sitting person, trying to fend off hits from a standing person. I think this makes the theory that Kane is in fact Cain from the Cain and Abel story from the bible more believable. Quite interesting they already came up with this in the mid-90's.

yes. I spent an whole afternoon in 96 just trying to dl the demo with my modem lol. The demo files, video files, and music files were all divived into separate parts u could download. If u didnt want teh music u could skip it and videos too. But of course I had to have it all! :D Got a 2 pack with Civilisation 2 and C&C95 for 97, that sure made my day!

Hmm, indeed, I'd like to see the FMV of the Temple actually getting blown to smithereens. I just beat the game with GDI, and I demolished the Temple with a small swarm of HUMMERS! In that, the temple just collapses on Kane.

The closest thing to seeing the ION cannon strike would be in CnC Renegade when Havoc places the Beacon and watched the front of the temple get pwnt. I'm quite sure this is it because at the end of Renegade it has the same reporter reading "Quote - Acceptable levels".
