  • Have you thought of making a comparison video of the standard hella 4000i driving lights versus the compact hella 4000i driving lights for a sense of light differences due to the size deviation of the reflectors (~8'' versus compact ~6'')?

  • @MtnOppie I'll let our video guys know. thanks for the idea.

  • Any noticeable performance difference between the 4000i and 4000i compacts? I would be using these for Colorado forest roads and off-roading within dense tree cover conditions. Look for recommendations, and deviations between the flood and driving beam styles. Thanks.

  • @MtnOppie The hella 4000i compact is only offered in a driving or a pencil beam.

driving is going to be wide beam pattern, pencil is going to be narrow and long. for what you plan on doing I would recommend the driving pattern, pencil is for wide open flats.

as far as performance, the bigger the reflector the more light output.

  • I priced the 4000i compacts and was shocked that they were over $900 CDN EACH! Not even for a pair! I guess these HID's are out of the question for me.

  • @sniperv25 where did you get these prices? We sell them for around $500 USD each which is about the same in Canadian dollars if i'm not mistaking.

  • its a pretty good light!! you said it was a 35w HID but with how many kelvins if i may ask???

  • @cageoneoone We tried contacting Hella but they proved to be a bit unresponsive. We do not have information on how many Kelvins these lights produce but the bulb in them is rated at 3200 Lumens. Hope this helps.

  • @cageoneoone Got a chance to talk to Hella at SEMA last week and asked them your question. 4500 Kelvins. :)

  • Were the lights on the Jeep the compacts or the full size version?

Any notable differences between the 4000i and the 4000Xi?

  • @crezzyman These were the full size lights

4000i are avail in 8” driving, pencil, or flood beam pattern

The 4000i 6” compact light is avail in driving or pencil beam pattern

The 4000Xi is a 4” light avail only in driving beam pattern

Pretty much the same features on both series

  • I really like your videos but maybe next time you can record your audio in a separate device and sync it in post production to get even better results, try the zoom H4n or the new H2n and I'm sure vids will get a lot better :)

    keep up the good work

  • @makatr0n thanks for the comment, i'll tell the guys doing the videos about it.

  • @orwoffroadwarehouse the videos are clean and the demonstration with the jeep in the dark at the end of the videos shows how they will really perform
