his impact will never be match he been gone for 13 years and still being talk about with past current players commentaters thats what i call leaving your mark and impact
I wish people would stop comparing Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan. Even Phil Jackson said Kobe is no Michael Jordan. It's simple numbers people.....Kobe + Bryant = Arrogance and 5-2 in NBA Finals. Michael + Jordan = Humbleness, Excitement, Hunger, 6-0 in NBA Finals and everything else that factors into this Equation
@bcunningham13946 MJ is the most arrogant basketball player ever. One of the reasons why I like him to be honest. But listening to MJ in interview, he is not humble, but I like my basketball players to be cocky. So it's all good.
When jordan played ball basketball was more physical.. refs wouldnt call pussy fouls like they do now a days.. so MJ woulda done more damage in this era... MJ Greatest ever!!
@03prodigy I'd say shaq/kobe. Kobe was not as good as jordan, but not far behind him either, and Shaq in his prime was the most dominant center ever. The Lakers all the way!
@musicofthesoul85 with all due respect, the question from atownmack was "better team? jordan/pippen bulls or shaq/kobe lakers?" i wont dispute the whole kobe thing not being far from jordan (even though id say dwade is a lot closer and i have the stats and stories to prove it =] ) nor that shaq was the most dominant center ever in his prime.now im not trying to be an ahole, but you talked about kobe and shaq as individual players and not as a dynamic duo.
@03prodigy well I think they were a great duo, just like jordan & pippen. I did them individually to highlight their talents as individuals. They worked great together and complimented one another even though they were not friends off the court. both the bulls and the lakers had great role players, but I think if the two teams played. The lakers would win. Thats just my opinion. The person most qualified to settle this debate is Phil Jackson.
@atownmack I'd say shaq/kobe. Kobe was not as good as jordan, but not far behind him either, and Shaq in his prime was the most dominant center ever. The Lakers all the way!
i'm telling u, before MJ put his feet on the floor, the NBA was just another american sport. just like baseball and football. thanks to him, this league became global.
At game time, Jordan's eyes were glazed, his forehead was burning and he was dehydrated. "I didn't even think he would be able to put his uniform on," teammate Scottie Pippen said.
Once Superman put on his cape, neither the viral illness nor the Jazz could stop him. At the end, when he was most tired and looking like death, he stuck a dagger into the Jazz's championship hopes.
Jordan has appeared on the cover of "Sports Illustrated" 47 times, more than any other athlete. One belittling cover came when he was playing minor league baseball with the Birmingham Barons and the caption read, "Bag It, Michael." Jordan stopped talking to the magazine after that.
The average American male's percentage of body fat is 15-20%. The average professional athlete's is 7-8%. Jordan's body fat was measured at 4%. In the first year alone Nike's Air Jordans grossed an astronomical $130 million. Jordan holds the NBA Finals record for most points-per-game in a series, averaging 41 against the Phoenix Suns in 1993. When Chicago assistant coach Tex Winter told Jordan, "There's no 'I' in the word team," the Bulls star shot back, "There is in the word win."
@flamcity . . . I'd add Tiger Woods (identity crisis and all)
