  • LUX-U-REH.

  • not seen this since i was in high school any chance you can upload the full video (i know where you live, live The Secret Policeman's Ball i would be sooooooo gratfulllllll

    thank you

  • Good Lord, the people goes crazy with Alan Rickman, lol. I don't know who's the most shocked about it, Eddie Izzard or Alan Rickman himself... By the way, Rickman is the only one capable of keep a straight face during the entire play.

  • One little nitpick, the sketch isn't actually Python. It's from At Last! The 1948 Show.

  • The best thing that WE could do was to suck on a damp rat! Alan Rickman, saying disgustingly sexy things like a true badass!

  • bring back python,QUICK!

  • "oi, i think jesus just came in"

ahahah no, alan rickman just talked :p

  • Alan Rickman Was Excellent-Nuff Said

  • the guy second to the left is snape

  • 15 people have a tumble down house

  • @henthorn123 Well, I hope by house you mean hole in ground.

  • YAAAARKSHIRE!

    LOVE IT. MY LAND. <3

  • I love how Eddie Izzard starts pissing himself laughing after Vic Reeves says 'Wi'out milk or SUGAARRRRR' lmao

  • How weird is it that, that's the bad guy from Die Hard!? lol

  • when we got home our dad would slap us to sleep with his willie

  • why does alan rickman look drunk lol

  • Comment removed

  • Funny, cos Vic Reeves is from Leeds.

  • @ccclllsport

    I know!

Almost as bad as your spelling...

  • @cmrxs touche

  • @ccclllsport

    ;)

  • None of their accents are true Yorkshire accents. The guy on the far right comes the closest but still not great. And as much as I love Alan Rickman, his is pathetic. You wouldn't say 'house' it'd be 'ouse'. And it sure wouldn't be 'twenty' It'd be 'twen-e'. It's funny but it would be hysterical if the accents were on the mark.

  • Hmmm well if the guy from the right isnt from yorkshire when did they move Leeds!!!!

  • Vic Reeves does come from Leeds but he doesn't have a Yorkshire accent because he lived in Durham from the age of 5. No one is suggesting that Vic Reeves isn't from Yorkshire, but being from Yorkshire does not mean that you have a Yorkshire accent.

  • If only Harry Enfield wasn't in this

  • All the bits without him are pretty good

  • as much as i love him, he does ruin it somewhat. i know he's very bad on prupose for the comdey factor, but it doesn't quite work.

  • The two lines that get me every time;

    1) Then, after a meal of our own SHIT! . . .

    2) And you try telling the young people of today that...and they'll be HIGHLY sceptical...

  • Also when alan says "Luxury!"

  • can someone PLEASE tell Harry Enfield that t' means 'the'. You donnae say in't the lake-just in t'lake.

  • That was t' the point.

It's called taking t' the piss.

  • ...it's Just a Joke, Enjoy Yourself.

  • I thought Izzard was funny... especially the things he'd add to the ends of punchlines...

  • simply fantastic:)))))))))))))5/5 and favs

  • Vic Reeves kicks ass

  • favorite! favorite! a million times favorite!

  • Aaah... I love Harry Enfield, he's so funny! XD

  • Yeah haha! I LOVE Izzard but his Yorkshire is shocking!!!

  • I love Eddie.

  • That was a bit disappointing. It was too wink-and-nod-spaces-for-laughs 'aren't we jolly funny chaps, eh?' for me.

  • Haha, I didn't get it at first, because I wasn't familiar with the bit. But once you get into it, it's pretty funny. :)

  • Well, this is even better than the original.Just look at Eddie Izzard, there's a genius at wordk/play But you try and tell the young people of today and they'll be highly sceptical.

  • Someone should post the original!

  • Oh I absolutely love this, almost as funny as the original.

Love how Eddie Izzard just can't stop laughing

  • Isn't it great how he's just losing it up there! I love Eddie, my absolute favorite comedian.

  • This is FUNNY!!IM STILL LAUGHING!!I have to call to police cause you putted that in here,do you want me to get heartinfarkt? It's too funny, thanks for posting this!!

  • My God! Thakn you for the lyrics! I've been looking for it everywhere, but I didn't think to check here, stupid :]

  • milk or suggaaarrrr, love watching eddie izzard crack up at vic reeves shit

  • LMFAO. Funny as hell! And I'm a Yorkshireman!

  • Absolutely brilliant. British humor is so much better than any other nation's.

  • apart from 95% of everything we've done in the l;ast 20 years being total shit

  • awesome sketch, but as a true yorkshireman they need to work on their accents a bit. reet funny tho

  • HOLY CRAP! ALAN RICKMAN!

  • they're talking about how much better life was when they were poor. They're trying out-best each other with how bad they grew up

  • Thanks..I'd missed that *rolls eyes*

  • why do they always pick o the yorkshire folk!

  • revert to it

  • i have to add that alan rickman was 55 years old at that time in 2001.

  • Actually, this sketch predates Monty Python. It was written for the "At Last the 1948 Show" by John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Tim Brooke-Taylor, and Marty Feldman.

  • Wish the audience would shut the fuck up

  • Hilarious. I think the accents not being accurate was MEANT to be part of the joke for those of you that had a sense of humour bypass. It's called SARDONIC HUMOUR. But seriously, I could listen to Alan Rickman read the telephone book.

  • This is great. FANTASTIC.

  • by the way, thanx for putting the transcript in -i was looking for that for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages!

  • my pleasure, I had been wanting to do so for a long time... it just took me a while to be able to get everything that is said LOL

  • awesum sketch! genuis! makes me laff every time!

  • woz gud lol is that the full video or is there still more after that??

  • No that was the end of the sketch =)

  • Hippo

  • I sense a little Coupling reference there... love that show

  • Great video.

  • This wasn't originally a Monty Python sketch. It was from the "Not the 1948 Show" which featured Marty Feldman and Tim Brooke Taylor.. Python did a version of the sketch, but lots of different comedians have done versions of it.

  • I think you mean "At Last the 1948 Show". Which would be true, but the sketch became mostly known because of the Pythons version, in non English speaking countries at least...and that's why I don't mention it. Anyway Graham Chapman and John Cleese also co-wrote and starred in it, and since they are both Pythons well... can't be bothered to do a step-by-step biography of the sketch, too lazy! =-P

  • shite!!!

  • my god, they did have it rough back in the day!! like peter kay says, i can't imagine it being possible to pass off today's standards as 'rough' when i'm an old man, we do actually have it easy now. Hilariously funny!!

  • What's with the guy on the left and his ticking sound?

  • I've added the trascript of this sketch for those who can't understand all that is being said... cheers!

  • Thanks. Yorkshire is a strange furrin language.

  • Better than the Rednecks of the Redneck Comedy Tour

  • i think we can all agree that Harry Enfield and Vic Reeves completly ruin the whole skit...disgrace lol

  • Ahaha, oh how I adore thee Alan and Eddie. Absolutely brilliant sketch! Thanks much for the brilliant video!

  • mmhmm...gorgeous, they are...I am sad that someone beat me to Eddie...

  • poor eddie... he was losing it there for a while... alan and eddie...my heroes...seeing them together makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...

  • awesome. love 'em all!

  • soft southern bastards, nobeds

  • vic reeeves is a yorkshireman actually, lukehudders

  • Notice that Alan Rickman is the only one who stay in t' charater all t' way through. Sorry about the "t's" I couldn't help it.

  • Fantastic

  • I've been having geek-gasims all night watching this. I don't care how old Rickman is.... I'd still molest him.

  • Not if I get him first!!! Mwahahaha

  • Gah! My mission is trumped!

    ("Geek-gasms"... I like that one.) ~

  • FYI, Marty Feldman, John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Tim Brooke-Taylor wrote and originally performed this sketch for "At Last the 1948 Show". Python performed it twice live and made it world-famous.

  • Da Bizz!!

  • Eddie Izzard and Alan Rickman...two of my fav Englishmen ^_^!

  • izzard and reeves are so damn random! absolute legends all of them!

  • The Monty Phython one was the best, nothing beats that!!

  • Burma!

  • vic reeves is the best;

"cold cup a tea - without milk or shugarr" lol : )

  • vic reeves and harry enfield are crap....ruined it

  • Ok, ok we get it... you didn't like them... now stop being such a sourpuss... your the first negative comment in this video... I think that says a lot. Ta!

  • Eddie Izzard and Alan Rickman in the same clip! *swoons*

  • Omg...I love Alan Rickman...

  • my mum says Eddies cool, with or without makeup, that sketch was soooooo funny

  • Very Very Funny........Vic reeves is my hero

  • For some reason I can only ever see the first 27 seconds of this video. Grrr...

  • Ummm... that's weird because there's nothing wrong with the video... I think that the problem is due to all of the changes that YourTube has been going though lately. Some long vids just freeze... duh! What can I say, sorry :-(

  • Yeah, not so much with the Alan Rickman...

    Eddie kicks ass tho!

  • That rocked my socks!!! Does anyone else thing Eddie's hott when he's not wearing makeup!

  • I think he's hot wearing makeup... not really - he's not really my type, but he is still very cool!

Now Alan Rickman... soooo my type!

  • Fuckin Fantabulous :D:D:D:D:D!!!

  • "We used to live in a tiny little tumbled down old house, with t'holes in t'roof." Haha. That was brilliant. Thanks for the upload. :)

  • Yeah they weren't going for an accurate yorkshire accent if you hadn't noticed. It's called 'comedy'. If the entire audience got it, how come you didn't?

  • hahahaa, so much better than the monty python version (eddie izzard is a legend)

  • Careful there!

  • Bollocks its shite

  • So from what DVD is this?

  • No idea... I'm not sure if there's actually an Amnesty Show DVD

  • LOL I laughed 'til I cried. My ribs hurt!!

  • I love this - haven't seen it in aaaaaaaages. Thank you for adding it!

  • *in stitches*

  • this is an awesome clip... thank your very much!

  • YES!!! I watch this way too much, hehe. Great stuff. Alan = Jesus... ya, I'll buy that!

I got my vid of this from BritBitsandClips I think.

  • *Sigh* I love this so much!

"I think Jesus has just come in!" Ha ha ha. It's Alan, did he not expect some amazing welcome? Ha ha.

  • Sorry, had to add how much I love Eddie Izzard now. Took me long enough to see his stand up but now I'm hooked on him. Who wouldn't be? I love that you have an Eddie playlist. I'll have to check it out soon!
