I very rarely cry... very rarely... especially for any TV show or movie but this is just one of the best things ever... I always cry twice when watching this episode, once when Andy is giving the speech and also right at the end too.

Great show. Completely irrelevant but I've just realised that Guy Henry plays Iain Morris, the head of BBC Comedy. I was working in the box office at the Barbican Centre in 1990 when I had a bit of a spat after he came to the desk demanding some tickets......very loudly. Didn't have a clue who he was. A boring story I know, but maybe relevant when commenting on Extras, Millman and fame!!

But thankyou Gervais, a truly fantastic show.

"The Office" was a favourite of mine. I think with Extras Ricky and Stephen have achieved notoriety by proving beyond any doubt they were no one hit wonders. Extras seem to work because despite Ricky's lesser ability to act the writing is comic genius and borders on perfection. Extras is another roller-coaster of emotions where you can laugh, cringe, tense up, feel elated, empathise and cry... also, casting Ashley Jensen as Maggie! What a star!!!!

As a comedy actor in stuff he writes/directs he is absolutely world class, he knows how to translate the script right down to the fine points that make his performance genius, in other people comedies not written for him I think he's good but not great.
