It took me a near death experience to be how I am now... Now I never go a day w/o talking, praying, waking up and thanking Him for what He did so we ALL can see Heaven!!! I just feel sorry for the 1's that think He's nothing but a lie/liar
It is amazing to know that he didnt HAVE to do it, but he did. Why? For you and me and for everyone!!! He took the form of man and became a servant. Why? For you and me and everyone!!!! Praise Him.
This video, so beautifully and painstakingly edited, is only surpassed by the beauty of Gorecki's second movement of his Symphony No. 3. If I could put to music what I feel inside after watching this video, it would most definitely be a symphony of sorrowful songs.
You were strong enough to endure this.I will be strong enough to watch it .
Although this movie was a bit eggagerated.None one could have lived with the amount of blood he lost before reaching the crucifix.Although it's represent well how our society is.
Roman history describes the cruelity in crucifixtion. It was meant to cause suffering and death. Jesus died within a short period of time after being nailed to the cross. Yes, He had lost most of His blood and when the Roman soldier pierced His side, it was water and blood that was spilled. Jesus was flogged not just with a whip but with a whip with metal balls attached to five or six extentions of the whip. He suffered a horrific death.
"But He was wounded for our transgressions , He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are HEALED". (Isaiah 53:5, KJV)
Listened to this album when my dad passed away from cancer 10 years ago. Still brings tears to my eyes. Even more touching knowing what Jesus Christ did for us. I'm inspired that my dad and brother are with our Savior right now.
With the genius of Mel Gibson and the extraordinary brilliance of Henryk Gorecki, a masterpiece more moving than the Mona Lisa was created - ...now ... everyone over to my place in San Diego to get over this sorrow!
i just came from stations of the cross and i had to watch this video again.thank you jesus and mary for all you do for me as i prepare to become a deacon.i can only hope i will make you both proud .i pray dear jesus that more people will make videos like this to spread your word and show what you have done for us.
may God bless you as you prepare for your new vocation. and may God bless all men and women to discern God's call for them, and that we all have the courage to respond with love and humility. and may God help us to use our gifts for love, especially on the Internet.
the sacred blood of Jesus Christ - it is holy and to be revered - 1 Peter: 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. I never knew it was Dawn Upshaw who sang in this movie. I saw it 3 times when it came out and we bought the D.V.D. I cried this morning when I saw it. It was such a gift from our Lord that I saw it, and today is Friday, the day of the Passion, when we are supposed to meditate on what he did for us. Oh Jesus I love you!!! I love Dawn Upshaw's voice, and would like to meet her someday, because I'm a soprano soloist as well.
thank-you for your comment! however, i must clarify that this musical work (sung by Dawn Upshaw) is NOT in the film... i personally chose it because it is so beautiful and moving, and thought it was a very good fit for the images... if you like this piece, i highly suggest you listen to Gorecki's entire Symphony No.3... thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment :-)
How true but how many people have been courageous to explore this kingdom? Don't be afraid of questions, they will bring new perspectives and shed light on truth.
Where do we find the answers to the natures of man kind?
Within the Kingdom of Heaven.
Grow with wisdom
Grow with love
Seek no reward from life,
because life is reward enough.
Peace - from an athiest trying to understand Christianity.
Did you know that YAHUSHUA (called "Jesus" or Yeshua) Died physically on the PASSOVER? thus HE is not only our redeemer from our sins, but also just like in the time of Mosheh/Moses when all Yisraelites had the blood of an unblemished lamb on their doorposts, we are covered in Hearts and souls as a sign so that the judgement (angel of death) will "pass-over" us in these end-times! When our former selves die in Him, our new Eternal beings live with him as YAHUSHUA IS LIFE Itself... Amen
thank-you for your comment... yes... very painful... hearts broken. broken. broken. but let us all be thankful for Easter. He is risen! one day, the pain will be no more.
If I leave religion out of all this, I see foremost a humane and moving scene: a mother's grief for a beloved son she has to part from, way before his time. Linking this to Gorecki's beautiful music is a great move. Nice flow and montage of image and sound.
always. sadness. a parent watching the suffering (and to the extreme - death) of their child. no greater pain in the world, they say. but then mary, being mary, realizes at the very end - why! she releases the stones/sand from her clenched fists. but still sadness. always. but often, often, good comes from suffering. we being who we are, just don't want any part of pain. but pain, God willing, turns to joy. with faith. hard, hard won faith. and faith is love. and we've come full circle.
I never liked this film, much preferring Franco Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth. But this montage with this music is quite something. Good job and thanks for posting.
thank-you very much... this is a very nice compliment... that i, in fact, "improved" on the work of mel gibson... wow! all for the glory of God... thank-you :-)
thank you lord for we know not what we have in this world and this life. if only every one could live like you, they would only then see the light of your love in all things that is life.
I admit im not the most religeous person on the earth, but a part of me always felt sorry for Mary, having to witness the brutality that befell her son must've sucked. Although i dont worship god, I do respect Jesus, any man who can take that kind of a beating for anybody, let alone our pathetic human race, has got courage like no other
thank-you for your very honest comment... yes, there is no question that regardless of your faith, a mother seeing her son beaten and die in front of you must be horrific... and to respect someone who will take that kind of punishment (i.e. Jesus) for the sake of others, should be self-evident outside of faith, too... it's an incredible moment to ponder... thank-you for your sincerity... peace.
Oh great! The encounter between the Christian composer Gorecki and the Christian "réalisateur" Gibson! Thank you! Praise the Lord and hallowed be Jesus Christ!

Beautifully done! The editing and the music are very powerful together. Impossible to watch without a tissue. Really touches the heart! We experience the Passion of Jesus through the eyes of Mary, the Mother of Jesus and the first disciple. Really shows that when you're close to the Blessed Mother, you're close to Jesus. Pray for us, O Mother of God! Amen and Amen!
Through the disobedience of Eve all mankind fell from grace-so through the obedience of the beautiful mother of God, mankind was restored to grace. Thanks be to God.

Funny how idiots label this offensive material. makes me sick... they will do anything to shut the truth out, and Jesus being the Messiah is more truth then they can ever handle. again, great work!
Amen heilgermany. The more the world denies Jesus the more it proves to me that he is the Messiah. The world is not offended by lies but by the truth. This video is wonderful and very moving. Thank God and Mary for the gift of their son.
It occurs now to this protestant that she would have gladly volunteered herself into his position on the cross even though his men fled, she was bound to him as a mother. For my son, it would be harder for me to watch my son be crucified than to be crucified myself. God the father, Mary, and Jesus all got crucified that day. Thanks for the revelation.

Yes, the best Version is the with Dawn Upshaw on Elektra Nonesuch (7559-79282-2), London Sinf., David Zinman (conductor). There is another recording from 1978 with the Polish Radio Symph.Orch. & Stefania Woytowicz (Sopran), Jerzy Katlewicz (Cond.) - not bad but Zinmann plays much more intense. Never heard before this Symphony in so solid, proud and delicate tones like in a temple and exquisite audio quality (defines the need of a subwoofer in a new way). No.1 Hit in GB in the 90s. #k.
Thank you, God.
