  • Cool! Whats the music!?!

  • Sushi Is the name of this particular meal and has different styles Nigiri: (Nigiru- to Squeeze) Maki: (Maku-To roll ) Sashimi: (Raw cut of fish only) Chirashi sushi: (All the ingredients of a maki or temaki ( Hand roll) but chopped in small pieces and mixed up in a dish. :) peace and Sayonara!

  • And by the way as long as it has the seasoned "sushi" rice, anything using the rice is considered sushi

  • and YES it is sushi..JUST A TYPE of a sushi..maki, nigiri, ALL TYPES of sushi..you're welcome

  • At the end of the video u put 'Eat your sushi roll'

    you shouldve said please

  • I know your suppose to keep ur hand wet, but my sensei said if i have too much water on the rice, the sushi would have weird flavour or texture. What can I do to keep the sushi rice from sticking on my hand and fingers other then drenching my hand in water or wearing gloves?

  • @ionglacier use vinegar instead of water

  • this is a inside out roll you can do it the other way if you like ;D

  • amazing! mine turned out nothing like it...It still tastes good though? ha ha

  • Whats the song called?

    Great sushi!

  • lol thanks for the vid.. saved me from making another disastrous sushi on my 2nd attempt! helped me alot (Y)

  • lol

  • i fucking love sushi 5/5 stars on the video if you guys want to know how to make more sushi check out my page kk bye

  • la verdad que no cierra bien el rollo, por tratar de ser rápido realiza todo el trabajo mal, eso es lo que pasa cuando algo se masifica.

  • that is not how you make sushi

  • sushi can be constructed however you want it.....why limit your imagination?

  • does eating sushi or other raw fish or meat represent a risk for our health?? I always eat sushi at Yamato-s restaurant...I wonder if maybe it can be unhealthy...

  • Nope, not as long as the fish is clean.

  • ...and fresh! thats the most important thing!

  • no. raw fish is ok.

  • ... lol

Well, you must be from Texas.

Say hi to your shitty ex-President for me you American fucker.

  • This comment has just made my day. Thanks

  • oh yah just whnan ask is the rice special or u cna use normal cooked rice ?

  • It has to be short grain and you have to prepare it a certain way.

  • Koshihikari is best for this purpose

  • I agree.

  • thats not sushi...its maki.... its a different type dude... the type you're referring to is nigiri sushi if i'm not wrong... and this one is rainbow maki btw...

  • Wow, ignorant much?

  • In Illions,Bellville they have a Sushi bar It by the 50 cent Movie therty Or next by Roylabamboo

  • mmmmm

  • whats the white slice?

  • is the fish completley uncooked or is it like smoked or something??

    like salmon

  • Hmm I have neveer seen sushi cut so there is more than one kind of fish on it...Then again I havent seen a lot of sushi made

  • tat was fast

  • malazo rolls? rolls es cilidrico el nori no se debe ver si es con el arroz x fuera, :( bad

  • I got a question I never made sushi before and I wanna try. do you need to wash the fish or is just making slices from fresh fish good enough. if you need to wash it is there some sort of way to wash it to is rinsing simply good enough

  • the fish is always washed when you buy it, you don't have to wash it again in most countries of the world.

  • so i can just buy a slap of salmon chop it up and just eat it raw with out doing anything else?

  • to add onto chocolate's point, the pickled ginger that comes with sushi is also a germ-killer of sorts, like wasabi :)

  • depends what kind of fish and where you buy it from. for instance if you go to japanese fish markets and get the fish blocks (called saku) they are ready to go. in japanese markets fish are cured with 1:1 vinegar water. if you buy it from a supermartet. #1 it has to be super fresh (check date) or you have to do the process of curing the fish with vingar water. first lightly salt the fish and leave for 10 minutes. wash the salt off. and deep it in vinegar water for 5 minutes... ready to use.

  • Washing the fish is optional. Most japanese restaurant don't wash the fish. Rinsing it is good enough. What important is that you have to eat raw fish with wasabi, because it acts as antiseptic, i.e. it kills all the germs.

  • Your videos are awesome, I thank you for them. My question is where do you recommend buying the fish such as salmon, Hamachi?

  • where do you live? some local supermarkets have the fish sometimes... or local fish mongers. it's harder if you're in smaller or more centralized cities :/

  • watchin this maked me VERY hungry

  • I've never been good at the uramaki, and you seem to do it so well. I see scallops, maybe cucumber after that (can't tell, it's greenish though), no idea what the sauce is, then it looks like maybe salmon, tuna, shrimp, daikon, and i can't tell what the last one is. Can you give a little more insight into the ingredients?

  • there is avocado, tuna, shrimp, salmon, and the white stuff is superwhite tuna (just don't eat too much of it at one time... it has olestra in it!!) the sauce is just a slightly spicy homemade sauce. hope that helps. our website has more information about different kinds of rolls as well.

  • Great, thanks for your reply! I always love learning new sushi-making techniques and recipes, I'll check out your website =)

  • I just realized; you didn't really answer my original question of what was inside the uramaki =) It looks like scallops and cucumber, is that right? Am I even close?

  • sorry yup! the inside was scallops and cucumber.

  • It's looks like a sort of Rainbow Roll. My favorite!

  • I saw the chef make this today. Didn't know what it was called.

  • MAKIZUSHI (巻き寿司) is the rice wrapped in nori... what they made here is URAMAKIZUSHI (裏巻き) wich means inside-out rolls in japanese.

  • Omoshiroii, arigatou gozaimasu for telling this information chuto-chan!

Makizushi looks neater, but I bet it tastes the same ^^

    Great vid!

  • yes this is true, but for simplicity sake, we just wrote makizushi because it would be confusing to some people to explain the difference... especially since the methods for making both are basically the same.

  • great vid! thanks dude!

  • nori is the seaweed on the outside.

    maki is the roll.

  • OMG Thats what i call 1 st class Japanese cook O_O

  • Hey thnx for replying back...and you gave me a good idea to make the uramaki sushi....lots of variation yummy toppings and I may try it......you did 3 types of sushi in one preparation:

    nigiri sushi

    futomaki sushi

    uramaki sushi

That's saving a lot of time and I am sure that my children and friends will enjoy eating.

    Btw,nihonjin desuka?Goodluck and do more videos.....GANBATTE KUDASAI!!!

    OTANOSHIMINI***wink wink***

    GOCHISOUSAMADESHITA!!!

  • thanks for posting. are you using cling film to wrap the bamboo mat?

  • yup, makes things easier to clean / remove. you don't HAVE to, though.

  • Thanks for replying =]

  • man i'm hungry

  • Thanks for posting this vid, great idea to put caption with it too, make it easy to follow.=)

  • glad you enjoyed :)

  • yammy i wanna eat sushiiii T_T

  • If you make sushi can you freeze it and save it for later because Im the only one who likes sushi in my house and if i put it in the fridge it will freeze

another question what fish did you use?

  • losta fish in here, including salmon, tuna, and shrimp and more... as far as freezing it... not recommended :/ at most you should put it in the fridge for maybe a day. but definitely not the freezer.

  • u dont know how to make a sushi roll :S

  • i'd like to invite you to make a video of your own :)

  • Thanks, sushi monsters. I am from Brazil (city of Belém), and I´ve learned to make great sushi, seeing your videos. Thanks, my friends! One thousand of thanks!

  • thank you :)

  • What kind of fish can you put in sushi?

  • Tuna (dark red), salmon (orange) and processed crabmeat (white with orange outside) are the most common.

  • Thank you so much for posting these video's!! I've been reading on how to make sushi (including the rice...) and although the information is great, words don't show you how to do it properly. These video's will help me a lot!! I am looking forward to making sushi for my boyfriend and I. We 'LOVE' sushi. :)

  • What are the "toppings?"

  • just various types of fish, or vegetable... (like avocado)... whatever you want, really! vegetarian toppings include bean sprouts or mushrooms and that kind of thing.

  • Ok, thank you.

  • thanks for showing the last step by placing the plastic film over the sushi roll.....I have been trying to make this kind of sushi by directly cutting it....it was hard because the fish always move out of the way....great video...thanx..I learned something new....

  • Very, very nice.~

  • I've never had sushi.. but it sounds kinda gross. I want to try though. At first I thought the whole raw fish thing was unhealthy. I didnt know they froze it. =] Cool.

  • yes yes they definitely kill all the germs by flash-freezing it. wouldn't want to make people sick :D

  • "flash-freezing"? So like after you buy it, put it in the freezer then take it out to thaw??

  • no, fish mongers freeze it. it has to be instantly frozen. not something you can do at home! :)

  • gawd i want to make some sushi sooooooooo badly!!!!!!!!

  • hhmmm...... ugh... douche, yeh thats the word!!!

  • Sushi fish are treated by frezzing them to -4o Celsius. This kills most if not all bacteria.

  • You obviousely don't know much about culinary arts. Sushi is not made from Chinese rice and the fish has to be top quality and flash frozen to be eaten raw. And other cultures also serve culinary dishes with raw meat; tuna/beef tartar, rare steak/hamburger (which is holds a higher risk or food poisening than raw fish)..etc. If you don't like it don't eat it, but don't make a fool of yourself by sounding ignorant.

  • wwoooww that was cool, he made it sooo easy. It'd take me atleast an hour to even complete that. bravo!

  • whoa dude that was a hella nice roll

  • mmm yumm!

  • really good video

  • Thanks for showing this video. I'm addicted to the cooked kind of sushi, but it's so expensive to get it at the restaurant all the time. I recently saw a sushi-making starter kit, with the bamboo mat and all, and now I'm going to buy it! The only thing that kept me from getting it before was thinking that it would be hard to make at home, but after watching this video, I see that it's very simple.

  • it takes some practice to get it right (the most difficult part is actually getting the topping to center in the middle), but you can do it. feel free to send us photos of your creations... you can find out address on our website (i don't want to post the address here for fear of spam!)

  • I'll do that! I made some last week and it came out looking really nice, and tasted good too. Still felt like something was missing though, maybe some Japanese mayo. I'm going to try to find some and experiment a little more.

  • jonb2288- I hope you do eat raw fish from the local supermarket, then die from poisoning.

Please people don't listen to the retard, if you want to eat raw fish, get sushi grade fish. The fish in the supermarket are meant to be cooked, so they aren't treated the same way as sushi grade fish.

  • jonb2288 you just showed the world how stupid a human can be. I feel sad for your mother.

  • :) it's not just regular rice, you know. and no one said culinary art had to be cooked. but hey, if you don't like it, don't eat it.

  • "Eat you sushi roll!"

    funny!

  • Wow, how cool. I want sushi now! Too bad I don't have ingredients...sigh...

  • sushi-sensei! ! ! ! ! man,don't watch this if you are hungry

  • I looove sushi!

  • i'm hungry....

  • Wtf, that's not how you make them properly.

  • interesting, how do you make them then?

  • can u tell me where to get that kinda good meat in Columbia SC, please. The only meat i have at home is Bolonga

  • most sushis dont contain meant, its usually raw fish and other seafood.

  • there's no meat in here, other than fish and seafood...

  • nice piece of escolar.

  • I just want to grab it from my PC screen and put it in my mouth. Looks real easy.

  • eating sushi

  • mmm man can i have a bite? lol

  • you make it look so easy... well done :D

  • So THAT'S how you make a rainbow roll! I have been educated and informed! :D This makes it look so easy. I'll be giving this a go, when I make sushi tonight. Although I wish there was a video showing how to best wrap it, nori-side-out.

  • hmmm it's mostly the same. wrapping it with rice-side out for a while will help you get the hang of how to wrap it nori-side out. let us know how it goes (the making of it, that is) :)

  • Hi, I need some help. I've got a question about Sushi for YOU ALL. I'm the only person at home who likes sushi and when I keep left overs in the fridge the smell is strong and nobody, except me, can stand it. Would sushi be spoiled if I keep it on the fridge inside a hermetically sealed food container? THANKS!

  • hi eleanor! it should be fine if you keep it sealed in a container, but i still would recommend you eat it within a day cause that stuff really doesn't stay too well. wrapping it in plastic wrap is another solution... but i think both will definitely help you out. let me know if it works!

  • That's a stupid question. Do you get diarrhea after you eat stored sushi? You probably do so the answer is yes. Stupid fuck.

  • lol. everyone else is awful mad at you. but i think it's kind of funny you're trying to be an asshole.

  • TEACH ME OH MASTER..

  • That looked great.

  • thanks for this super video =)

  • ... this isnt roll sushi. Its just sashimi with rice.

  • not really. the fish on the outside is completely optional, and without the fish covering the outside, it is just a plain sushi roll.

  • It looks like a combo of a california roll and sashimi to me

  • This particular roll is generally called a "Rainbow Roll" others vary with fish types "Dragon Roll" all red fish, "Caterpillar Roll avocado and eel" and "Tiger Roll shrimp" are the most popular

  • fantastic video... Doesn't seem you did it the first time, did you?

  • oh no! he's probably done it thousands of times :)

  • great video...

  • yum!

  • thank you^^

  • On the inside is scallop, spicy sauce, and cucumber. On the outside is avacado, tuna, salmon, shrimp, superwhite tuna, and halibut.

  • its working now, sorry bout that

  • and what are the ingredients you put on anyway?

  • i couldn't access your site..it's not working..

  • wow one of the sushi videos i've seen on here, keep em coming!
