  • Thanks for posting! Most other hair tutorials and the way I've learnt to do mine have tight curls or curls that are just plain ugly! This is a better than the other ones :)

  • Thanks for the video!! I'm going to a Ball tonight and I needed a way to curl my hair without a curling iron, because I don't own one! lol. And, I've never been able to really learn how to curl my hair. I also have very straight and fine hair and can't hold a curl more than 5 minutes. So, this has helped a lot!

    Thank you! :D

  • you look sooo young and beautiful!!! I wish I had your skin and hair color :) My hair wont hold curls very well either :( I have to use tresemme curl activator spray and that holds a lot better than the normal hair spray :) Hopefully if you get it you wont have to worry about the curls dropping :)

  • THANK YOU

  • were you on mtvs true life ?

  • I have that same straightener. I love it. Most flat irons heat to 410ish.. The gvp (generic value product) is the generic for the CHI straightener. So its pretty much the same thing with a different name stamped on it!

  • Yeah! It does take a really long time! And I do have thick hair.

  • wow, this really helped!:)

    i love it.

    thanks for sharing:)

  • hey, i'm just wondering, for the first method (clamp down, pull up) what temperature did you set your flat iron to?

my hair isn't that thick but i can't seem to get it to curl like yours does in the picture

  • I'm a beginner to curling with a straightener and your video was one of the easiest to follow I'll be watching it as I do it Thanks!

  • i have the same flat iron. :D

  • Hi i think for your first time you've done a good job! Try and clamp your flat iron down and then twist underneath and then pull DOWN and you should get a really good curl! x x x

  • I'll try that method next time :) Thanks for the suggestion!

  • @eleanormaetaylor would you be able to make a video on how to do that method? it seems plausible but does it really work?

  • this is really helping i liked the second method and hopefully my hair would turn out like yours...

  • Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad my video helped you :)

  • sould you straighten your hair before you do it?

  • thank you so much! I was looking the way to make more natural curles and the first method is perfect for that!

    Grretings from Mexico =)

  • I'm glad this was helpful :)

  • good video!

  • whenever i try to do them my hair looks like i crimpped it then curled it! what shuld i do?

  • That happens to me too sometimes. Just make sure your iron is really clean before you use it bc sometime product can build up on it and prevent your hair from sliding though smoothly. Also, brush out your hair thoroughly before hand, so it's smooth and make sure you're moving the iron through your hair at a smooth, constant speed. Hope this helps!! xo

  • oaky! thxx!

  • what kind of flat iron do you use?

  • It's just a GVP from sally's :)

  • Oooo, Im gonna go see a movie with my boyfriend today, should I curl, or should I straighten?

    (Like curl like you did.)

  • Curl :) Guys always love the curls lol

  • Great tips!!!Thank you!!!

  • oh and btw Im deff gonna try this when I go to the mall XD I found a cute guy and I think this is deff an awesome look for flirting or dates XD

  • Oh this will def work! I don't know what it is with guys and curly hair, but it drives them crazy ;) lol

  • LMAOOO yes very true...I have naturally curly hair and I use to hate it because it seemed like guys preferred straight hair...then now that beachy curliness is in MENNN UGH Lmao oh well it looks cute XD

  • Haha that's funny :)

  • I just tried this look and omg it looks awesomeee one thing I hate about FL is the humid and during the summer ughh its a pain when keeping my hair straight on the bottom half..but omg I love this look...oh well that cute guy wasn't there but I got his hours XD

  • Yaay! I'm so glad it worked well for you :) It's humid in TX too :( You keep me posted on the hottie! Get him Tygur hehe

  • Yeah I was thinkin of doin a flirty date look vid an I'll deff do a part with this hairstyle then vid response it XD....curse humidity!!!! lmao luckily my bed head stuff really helps XD...LMAO ok I will and thank you =D

  • i have natural straight hair and i hate it haha!! can u help?

  • Me too! You should try this look. It holds really well :)

  • Oh boy when I was recording my video for hair in my bathroom I was so scared my camera would fall too cause I was balancing it on some lotion bottle ROFL but awesome video...so many don't know their straightner can be used as a curing iron in a way XD And often that way looks more natural then a curing iron XD

  • Lmao the things we do for Youtube! Ya, I'm so glad I learned how to do these 2 easy techniques because before, I was hair handicapped! All I could do with it was blow dry and straighten... thankfully my hair is pretty low maintenance or I would have been SOL b4 this lol.

  • Your hair looks so pretty like that. It almost looks a little beachy.

  • Thank you :) I love beachy hair!

  • what's the name of the iron you're using?

    nice tut! thanks!

  • Thank you! It's the GVP from Sally's :)

  • thats a hot look on you

  • no prob... I didnt mean that in the creeper way either LOL, just some girls would look lame with that look

  • HAHA Well, thank you. That's a very sweet compliment

  • yay! Im gonna try this. Ive always avoided it thinkin it'll be too hard to do lol!

    xoxo

  • Good! :) Let me know how it turns out! xo

  • Hair looks nice =P

  • Thanks Shay :)

  • otherwise, i watched a lot of vid for "how to curl your hair by a flat iron", but lots of them cannot give the hair the natural curl. But you do, your hairs became very natural and beautiful! Bravo. and thank u for this wonderful tutorial. :)

  • Aw, thank you :) I'm glad you liked it!

  • such a good tutorial.

i still have a question, do you have some ideas for some hairproducts who can protect the hair and keep them bright and healthy? i m always afraid of the heat dommage for my hair, so i ve never tried these way to curl my hair, although i really want to.

  • Thank you! I like the bumble and bumble product that I showed in this tutorial because you can add it after your hair is dry and it is lightweight. Also, Chi makes a good iron guard. Those would be my 2 faves :) I color my hair, so I have to be extra careful about damage and I haven't had any problems with using a flat iron to curl my hair.

  • I've never seen those two techniques before. I'll have to give them a try. It looks pretty! :)

  • Thank you! I hope this gave you some ideas to try :D
