Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust you have committed adultery with her in your heart.
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Does this concern you? The Bible teaches despise the value of your eye compared to the value of your soul. would u sell your eye for a million dollars? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. needgod.com
AGAIN! Look: Sitting on the couch, marijuana and "no cal" sweet snacks (ie artificial sweeteners) are associated with weight gain. Marijuana= no calories + weight gain. Artificial sweeteners = no calories and weight gain. The use of artificial sweeteners is associated with weight gain in animals in labs and humans. They are dangerous pharmceutical agents, DRUGS, which should be considered as such. The word "DIET" does not belong in front of Aspartame-COKE but "WILL MAKE U FAT" should be!
@humanstructureVIDEOS You fail logic yet again. Your marijuana snacks cause weight gain because of their caloric content (carbs, fats, etc.). By definition, calorie-free substances (artificial sweeteners) CANNOT cause weight gain. You might as well be saying that the Prius was damaged in a head-on with an H3, not because of the comparative vehicle sizes, but because the H3 had a bumper sticker!
@Getalis Sweet items (zero calorie or not) and the idea of food can trigger a phase of digestion known as the cephalic phase. "Human studies had suggested that the cephalic phase of digestion induced a cephalic phase of insulin secretion. A detailed study of the intensity and time course of the phenomenon was performed in the free feeding rat and confirmed in other mammals. " w w w . ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3552775
@humanstructureVIDEOS If that were true, insulin secretion would be virtually nonstop! Think of food? Insulin release. See a billboard for McDonald's? Insulin release. Dream about food? Insulin release. Hell, your pissing and moaning about cows eating ice cream *itself* causes insulin release by your standards!
Of course, rational people are able to put these things in context. Thinking/seeing/dreaming of sweet things doesn't result in appreciable insulin release, let alone weight gain!
@humanstructureVIDEOS Wow, after over a year of prodding the little critter finally coughs up a review article. Not exactly a double-blind RCT, but at least it's something! Too bad the thing's got more holes than Swiss cheese; I like how the graph shows use of artificial sweeteners leveling off right around the same time the BMI curve picks up. (In other words, BMI continued to spike while A.S. use remained constant, thus completely destroying the quaint little "theory" of the writer. ROFL!!!
Artificial sweeteners are associated with weight GAIN in humans, (and lab rats and cow!) These "drugs," legalized with ample money infused from their pharmaceutical companies, have "poisoned" the minds of the dumber half of the general population -- to which you belong. The process of weight gain takes time, and only an angry fool (like yourself) would fail to see the lag time in the ingestion of "diet pop" and weight gain. Couches and drugs that mimic sucrose stimulate appetite: Yale is right!

[“I fed aspartame to infant mice and found that it produced the same kind of brain damage that MSG causes” says Dr. John Olney to Fox News in a rare expose.]
I am pro-Aspartame because most people I know who are stupid enough to drink that garbage or even Corn Syrup or processed sugar or white flower are often ignorant in other ways and they still suck down tons of diet shit even when they get sick... and they are all usually just as fat after switching to diet...
@mercanaries3 I don't drink coffee very often, but when I do I usually add several Splenda™ packets! Unlike you conspiracy kooks, I actually attended college and know how to evaluate wild-eyed claims from whackjob Internet sites.
"Contains an ingredient not meant for human consumption." ROFL!!! Did Moses forget the 11th Commandment or something? Further, sucralose doesn't have "ingredients"; it simply *is*. Chemical synthesis isn't like baking cookies with your mommy!
Pilots should be told about aspartame in all chewing gums now - even those w/sugar. Buy gum w/xylitol instead and avoid adverse effects of aspartame sweeteners. Let the FAA know they are keeping valuable information from the flying community by not publishing a Memo warning all pilots - civilian & military.
House Minority Leader, Dick Armey, arranged our meeting, in 1998,with top FDA Officials and leaders of ACSN. Jas. Turner and I gave testimony at the Sen. Hearing on Aspartame Safety, Nov. 3, 1987. After our 2nd meeting with FDA in '98, FOX TV in Washington D.C. interviewed Turner and me across from FDA Hq. [Exactly 8 min. into the video.] Also see the Laura Lee videos on DIET DRINKS on you tube.
there is no reason why should you use aspartame...if people lived without aspartame before 1900 year and wayyyy more before, they lived such a normal life...so we can live too...it isn't form nature, sooo it's not for us....
@marinchyglossy but people are living longer today than ever before..and they're drinking diet beverages sweetened with aspartame...if you ask me...aspartame is no better nor worst than sugar.
@shibez i don't agree with you..people are living today shorter than ever before....and i don't agree with ya about aspartame....and I wanna say that sugar is way much better than aspartame...aspartame is 200 times sweeter than sugar...i think that if you eat fruit, that sugar that you eat need to be health....and i suggest to start replacing sugar and aspartame with STEVIA...it's plaint that is 300 time sweeter than sugar, but the biggest opponent carries...really healthy and good for skin.
How interestingly stupid. The dangers of aspartame is a pile of bullshit. Aspartame is the most studied and tested chemical we know and love to this date. Aspartame is found in 80% of products on the shelves, and there has never been a precise symptom. All the cases show random symptoms, e.g. Blindness, shaking, cancer, brain damage and many many more. None of these symptoms has been directly linked to aspartame. If it were as dangerous as people say, 50% of the world would be blind.
and that takes years to develop, people ingest Aspartame daily its in 9000+ products and i have no doubts that you have ingested Aspartame as well and you dont even know it.
Artificial Sweetener is Aspartame
if its sugar free and it tastes sweet its Aspartame.
@Getalis, "Studies of aspartame in the peer rev'd med. lit. were surveyed for funding source and study outcome. Of 166 studies w/ relevance for human safety, 74 had Nutrasweet® industry related funding and 92 were independently funded.100% of the indust. funded research attested to aspartame's safety, whereas 92% of the indep. funded research identified a prob".
@Getalis, Why do you put so much faith in a company that was so dishonest that they became the 1st company in history to be criminally investigated by the FDA?
Then they hired away the lawyer leading that investigation, the statute of limitations ran out, and it bought them time.Donald Rumsfeld took over the company coming straight out of Reagans transition team which had picked the new FDA commissioner who happened to approve it ASAP and then promptly resigned to work at aspartame manufacturer
man whoever takes fox news seriously should really, really, REALLY, criticize the information given by a lot of the non-academic sources fox uses to deliver their reports, as well as their biasness in their views....
Blood glucose is a popular mechanism for release of insulin. ALSO - some insulin release takes place with food intake, not just sugar intake, and the beta cells are also influenced by the autonomic nervous system. The signaling mechanisms controlling these linkages are not fully understood. Blood flow to pancreas rises with eating. Artificial sweeteners are strongly implicated in mechanisms and phases (cephalic) involved AS animals GAINED WEIGHT on artificial sweeteners! Thanks for this VIDEO!
Glucose isn't a "mechanism" for insulin release, it's a "*trigger*. There is a difference, and people who know what the hell they're talking about KNOW that difference.
Once again, I've consumed at least twenty ounces of diet soda today, and absolutely NO ice cream! So much for your dietary predestination theories! (ROFL)
@Getalis Blood glucose is a well-known component of the mechanism for release of insulin. Your obfuscation is hereby noted. Sugar-containing POP contains sodium benzoate. EDTA, and sodium nitrate are other dangerous chemicals found in food. Sugar does not mean "good." Sugar-free also does not mean "good." Non-processed foods are the best. The more processed, the worse, in general. Not everyone has a chicken in the backyard and an apple tree to pick. I avoid cigs and diet pop and hot dogs
@humanstructureVIDEOS Once again, artificial sweeteners don't cause weight gain, primarily because they *can't* cause weight gain. I've totally mopped the floor with you on this topic, and you're still too dense to figure it out!
And no, they don't "cause" weight loss per se, but they replace stuff that would otherwise contribute to weight gain. So in that vein, they can be a critical part of a successful weight loss regimen.
Dr. Oz is a quack, just not as big of one as Mercola, ROFL!!!
You are wrong, Getalis. Artificial sweeteners have been associated with weight gain in humans and other mammals. Thus, the responsibility rides on your back to prove "artificial sweeteners do not cause weight gain" since so far they DO cause WEIGHT GAIN (humans, mammals). Possible mechanisms include (1) stimulating insulin release (2) preparing body for"calorie-rich sweet load of sugar" which (like you) never comes. (3). blunting the sweet gustatory receptors=crave more calories.
@humanstructureVIDEOS Again, you fail remedial logic. Artificial sweeteners do not impart caloric energy. Therefore, they CANNOT cause weight gain.
If you wish to posit otherwise, the burden of proof lies with you. Given that you have failed to rise to this challenge in over a year, I suspect you secretly know that you've been soundly beaten on this issue and are merely trying to save face! ;-)
Um, actually they *are* pretty well-understood. Glucose stimulates the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells, which in turn allows it to be absorbed by cells and utilized for energy. Diet soda triggers nothing, with the possible exception of idiotic YouTube conspiracy theories.
Insulin is released by many mechanisms we do not fully understand yet. The GLUCOSE stimulation is obvious. A little punk like you (a) fails to understand what I write or (b) distorts what i write -- either way (a) or (b) you are a WORLD CLASS FLAMER. Artificial sweeteners are believed to be one of the newer "to be" studied causes of insulin release, as it is WELL-KNOWN the artificial sweeteners are associated with WEIGHT GAIN versus SUGAR. Distort that now
I'd say you've already done a masterful job at distorting reality. Sugar contains caloric energy, therefore it can lead to weight gain if consumed in excess. Artificial sweeteners either don't contain caloric energy, don't impart it to the body, or contain so little (aspartame) that it's negligible. Therefore, they CANNOT lead to weight gain.
Having people around you who are ordering and loudly eating delicious pizza does not impart any calories, either, but can lead to weight gain.
When did they remove the large tumor from your brain? You have no capacity for deep thoughts.
Artificial sweeteners caused weight gain in animals --cows and rats --they ended up eating more of the foods which contain calories, um, GET IT NOW dum dum flamer?
(This is the 15th time I have explained this to you. Ready for sweet 16th?, idiot?) ;)
@Getalis Just swallow your (very large) arrogance / pride and admit it.
Some study chemistry and some biology but never go to higher levels or put it all together - e.g. environment. Gain an understanding of the complexities of the CEPHALIC phase of digestion. Beta cells of the pancreas are stimulated by glucose, but other things including the brain can stimulate many glands and parts of the digestive tract -- e.g. artificial sweeteners can trigger a human to have an appetite for MORE food.
I've studied more chemistry/biology than you'll ever know. And I graduated from the "higher level" phase many years ago. Face it- you're totally out of your league here.
Artificial sweeteners don't "trick" the pancreas, beta cells or anything else into releasing insulin. These processes are far more complex than your Bugs Bunny cartoonish understanding of human physiology.
@tristy89 I cited the ideas of others. A few studies done (using cows and rats) are searchable on the internet, and one (from Purdue, I believe) stated that the reason for the weight gain is not know but a release of insulin is possible. The rats and cows gained weight on the diet with the artificial sweeteners -- obviously not due to the artificial sweetener itself being converted directly into calories BUT due to other reasons -- one of which could be (possibly) insulin release.
Some articles from the Nature journal say totally diff man =|. Aspartame isn't absorbed because the chemical composition of it is too huge; furthermore, aspartame is made up of aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and a methylated ester; none of which can elicit insulin responses. so... there are generally no calories to be gained from artificial sweeteners, nor an insulin response
anyways, that's what i know from nature/toxicology
FINALLY, someone with the sense to research this stuff on their own.
Aspartame is an interesting case; it does impart some caloric energy, being a dipeptide and whatnot. But since its intense sweetness requires scant amounts to replace much larger masses of sugar, that caloric energy is negligible.
Hard Numbers: Calories from a 2-liter bottle of regular cola = 880. Calories from a 2-liter bottle of Diet cola = 4.014.
Four calories. Yeah, there's a source of obesity! ROFL.
@Getalis lol Research cites weight GAIN with artificial sweeteners & I've pinpointed your idiocy: you blindly neglect the importance of the cephalic phase of digestion, which does include the time prior to a meal entering the oral cavity (mouth). Artificial sweeteners are chemicals with zero nutritional value and zero calories, which taste sweet & cause stimulation & weight gain. So then why drink them? Why drink FAKE sugar -- artificial & causes weight gain? Feel free to "drug" / drink up !
If they have no calories (technically false, but you're already confused enough as it is), they cannot cause weight gain. You just contradicted yourself AGAIN, and you don't even realize it.
Arguing with you is like watching a mentally disturbed person repeatedly bash their head into a wall in order to spite the demon they believe is causing their massive headache.
@Getalis Society and fast food restaurants (as ubiquitous buildings) do not provide calories, either, but are associated with weight gain. A scientific study showed that artificial sweetener consumption in rats and cows caused weight GAIN! Obviously it stimulated something! So you are wrong again.
You said ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS. The study I was citing used Saccharin. The point of the matter is animals fed artificial sweeteners GAINED weight. Whether insulin is released, is not released, is a moot point. The FACT is animals fed 2 different diets, the one with the 6 nutrients plus artificial sweeteners gained more weight than the 6 nutrients alone, and more than one study showed this. The studies are not "internet junk," they are searchable on the internet as is Cephalic phase of digestion
Um, seeing as how you yourself claimed that insulin release was the cause of weight gain, whether or not it's released by artificial sweeteners is anything BUT a "moot point". And once again, science only recognizes three nutrients. Not six.
@Getalis You are in denial. The study mentioned THE POSSIBILITY of the cause of the weight gain being insulin. I do not know if it was insulin or not--but they GAINED WEIGHT! I do not know why they gained weight--that needs to be investigated along with further studies, but who will pay for these studies? People: STAY AWAY FROM ARTIFICIAL (FAKE) CHEMICAL SWEETENERS: they are no good. Natural is best!
Okay, so now you're backpeddling even FURTHER. After spending the past three weeks claiming that artificial sweeteners trigger insulin release which in turn causes weight gain, you now say insulin might not be involved at all.
Why don't you just admit that you don't know what the hell you're talking about?
@Getalis The people who did one of the studies said (possibly) insulin release -- but maybe it was another reason...maybe even coincidence. More studies should be done, but it is clear that rats and cows gained weight in more than one study, wherein they ate foods with artificial sweeteners and foods with natural sweeteners (sugar). You apparently found one of the studies, and now we are making progress and debating the cause of the weight gain. The studies raise questions; we need more studies.
I never "found" the study (singular, not plural) you keep bringing up because you have yet to provide a citation, UI or PubMed ID. I've been requesting such for weeks on end, but to no avail. It's becoming rather obvious that you just made the whole thing up.
And even if you weren't, the results would be useless because COWS AND RATS AREN'T PEOPLE!!!
@tristy89 Sweet items (zero calorie or not) and the idea of food can trigger a phase of digestion known as the cephalic phase.
@Getalis The digestive tract is a complex organ system run by 1-nervous system 2-endocrine system, & is influenced by components of food and NON-food stimulations. IF u think GLUCOSE is the only thing that can stimulate increased activity of insulin or any other hormones, glands, blood vessels and smooth muscles in the digestive tract THEN your IGNORANCE thus explains why you cannot conceive of the many possible mechanisms behind the WEIGHT GAIN gain seen in RATS & COWS fed artificial sweeteners
You need to brush up on basic nutrition and physiology before you even begin to speak to me on either subject. For starters: learn the difference between vitamins, minerals, nutrients and water.
...no monitoring of health effects...took government agencies decades to agree that there were countless thousands of deaths from tobacco. Why? ... no monitoring or epidemiological studies.
Sucralose was approved in 1998. We've had TWELVE FUCKING YEARS of mass consumption, with no account of people dying in the streets, turning into insects or whatever the hell else you silly freaks claim it's supposed to do! What greater long-term human study could you possibly want?
People have been smoking and eating sodium nitrite containing foods for years. Smoking causes cancer. Hot dogs and processed meats cooked at high temperatures is associated with colon cancer, but the meat industry is not allowing warnings to be placed on the packages...and SUCRALOSE is an insecticide-like compound that you want me to drink instead of sugar? I have a lab and just invented some artificial organic "ingredients." ;P Open your mouth wide!
You are the idiot who fails to understand the diffrence between an IONIC BOND and a COVALENT bond. I have experience with idiots like you--since TURKS deny the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE any way they can. You are a paid lobbyist for the ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER DRUG companies. Otherwise, you are a true fool who is wasting her time on here.
Wrong again- I'm the one who has repeatedly pointed out the difference between ionic and covalent bonds, as well as the difference between diatomic elemental chlorine vs. the chloride anion vs. a chlorine atom covalently bonded to an organic molecule. *You* are the ignoramous contending that anything with a single atom of chlorine is an "insecticide".
Please don't even try lecturing me on chemistry. I've forgotten more about the subject than you'll ever dream of knowing!
@Getalis Respiratory therapists are known to smoke outside the EMERGENCY ROOM during break. I see the CHEMIST likes also to play with some dangerous CHLORINE-CONTAINING insecticide-related compounds for snacks. DRINK UP. Drink your diet pop. Here is a dollar. Go drink some more. Anyone got some ethylene chloride? I hear it is sweet and no calories, too.
Once again: world class FLAMER GETALIS fails to understand what I write or DISTORTS and INVERSES what I write and attacks it. Your dad hit you a lot when you were young since you love being a WORLD CLASS FLAMER and DISTORTING WHAT I WRITE and then ATTACKING IT. You would make a nice house pet as you'd chase your tail all day. OOPS! What I said will give FLAMER and adrenaline boost and cheer FLAMER up.
Ever think about getting a life and not searching for slaps on youtube?
Your are a professional denialist. It is a sickness. It is wrong to make fun of the mentally ill, so I will not make fun of you. But you are, truly, stupid.
Translation: "I cannot debunk, refute or otherwise critique anything Getalis says. Therefore, I shall simply call him names and hope no one notices the difference."
PR ick , I suggest Greek philosophy and learn the words of Socrates/ Plato. Only a fool like u says "I know it all." The quality man says "I do not know." I have spent parts of 2 or 3 weeks educating you, but you are a rotten, arrogant, (possibly paid), denialist whose possible excuses are 1). I have brain tumor or 2). I am paid by a company. 3). I am stuck in jail and your ignorant denials thrill me 4). My loving dad beat me lots. You enjoy being a pr i ck and an obfuscationist
Wrong yet again. I'm someone who knows what he's talking about, correcting the perpetual errors of a raving lunatic (you). It's the easiest thing in the world, refuting your bogus claims with simple science, then sitting back and watching you explode in yet another tantrum of conspiracy theories, blind accusations and name-calling.
Artificial sweeteners = LAB DRUGS. They have no use being fed to kids! One small study of diabetic patients using sucralose showed a statistically significant INCREASE in glycosylated hemoglobin, a marker of long-term blood glucose levels! Glycosylated hemoglobin is used as a marker to assess glycemic control in diabetic patients, and in uncontrolled diabetes, the number is elevated. Yet--morons running the FDA & manufacturer$ once touted Splenda for diabetic! Animal studies confirm the DANGER
Really now, you've been spouting bullshit statistics, "findings", etc. for weeks now without a single citation, UI or PubMed ID to back it up. (Likely because these studies don't exist?)
In studies on TV, journals and internet we see animals fed artificial sweeteners gain weight. Are mammals fooled by the sweetener to release insulin? (intermediary) or, did the artificial sweeteners alter their taste-bud-brain link. The CEPHALIC PHASE of digestion is the first phase of digestion, and the artificial sweeteners hitting the mouth seems to have messed up the animals. In short, MORE DIET COKE leads to more ICE CREAM. The reasons WHY weight gain occurs is next.
sorry assclown but sugar does not give you diabetes. you got it from your gene pool fool. or because you eat to much junk food and fast food . eat your poison you brainwashed dumm ass. im 65 years old and have a better set of choppers than you. i brush and floss you have a nice day and eat some splenda .
Sugar is not the cause of diabetes, Getalis IDIOT! You have ZERO knowledge of diabetes! Destruction of BETA CELLS of the pancreas by an autoimmune mechanism has NOTHING to do with sugar. Type II can be caused by obesity related to eating too many calories, and eating artificial sweeteners has been found to cause OBESITY in rats and cows -- and in many people. Back ~1960's we had SUGAR in our diet & everybody was skinny! Now we have MORE OBESITY: Thanks fake sugars for stimulating our appetites
Sigh... Is there no subject upon which you can't display complete and total ignorance?
The overwhelming majority of diabetics are of the Type II subset, which is characterized by a decrease in insulin sensitivity. Over-consumption of sugar is one way such a condition can come about. Consumption of zero-calorie sugar substitutes isn't.
Don't you see the blatant idiocy in implicating *calories* as a diabetes trigger, then contradicting yourself by indicting *calorie-free* substances?
T or F? ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS CAUSE weight gain in mice and cows? TRUE T or F Aspartame is not found in nature, but is man-made from warping together amino acids in an unnatural combination. TRUE T or F? DIET COKE is a DRUG True Turkey is guilty of the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE? TRUE The U.S. Government currently is too cowardly to admit the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE, due to barking from TURKEY? TRUE Dennis Hastert is a paid lobbyist for TURKEY? True, the FORMER CONGRESSMAN 'speaker of house' is, indeed!
Scientists added artificial sweeteners to COW and RAT diets. Double-blind-placebo-controlled studies revealed that artificial sweeteners cause weight gain. And the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE is a topic for 60 MINUTES this SUNDAY NIGHT. Turn off the OLYMPICS and learn about how the US GOVERNMENT is a bunch of lawyer, liar hypocrite sellouts.
Artificial sweeteners do not cause weight gain. If you knew anything about the mechanism by which they work, as well as how weight gain occurs, you wouldn't be making such silly statements.
(I don't watch much TV, so I'll just have to take your word on the progress of the Armenian Olympic team.)
Artificial sweeteners are BAD! Perhaps u still believe PREMARIN from HORSE pee btw is recommended for women > 50? lol. Lad, artificial sweeteners were studied in COWS & RATS and they found that EATING THE ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS in the diet CAUSED WEIGHT GAIN. Sorry, chump, but I am NOT going to deliver the studies to your home. My printer is low on ink and I do not feel like driving. LOOK IT UP, FOO! While you are at it, look up "DOUBLE-BLIND&PLACEBO CONTROLLED STUDIES" Define "scientific method"
Do tell- *how* did they isolate the artificial sweeteners as the precise cause of weight gain? When were these studies performed? Who performed them? Can you at least provide the UI's for these studies?
@GetalisGOOGLE TIS: data clearly indicate that consuming a food sweetened with no-calorie saccharin can lead to greater body-weight gain and adiposity than would consuming the same food sweetened with higher calorie sugar.
studies (rats, cows) show that the artificial sweeteners essentially cause SOME reaction (e.g. release of insulin, or who knows) which subsequently caused weight gain, i.e. MORE EATING! So, the mechanism aside, the FACTS remain: Artificial sweeteners are a little bit dangerous, utterly or nearly useless, and, as studies how, cause weight gain. SO WHY USE 'EM? They R drugs! Do U work for SEARLE? Fake YOUTUBER?
PURDUE: "The body's natural ability to regulate food intake and body weight may be weakened when this natural relationship is impaired by artificial sweeteners," said Davidson, an expert in behavioral neuroscience. "Without thinking about it, the body learns that it can use food characteristics such as sweetness and viscosity to gauge its caloric intake. The body may use this information to determine how much food is required to meet its caloric needs."
Skip to the part where they back up this feeble claim with actual SCIENCE. (Oh, wait: they didn't...)
Skip to the part where they explain how a 300-calorie bottle of Pepsi curbs weight gain better than a zero-calorie bottle of Diet Pepsi. (Oh, wait: it isn't...)
Even if what they fantasize were true, the body using sweetness to gauge caloric intake would result in weight LOSS, since the satiation trigger would be pulled prematurely. What a fucking joke!!! XD
A scientific study is a scientific study. The SUGAR FREE Pepsi that Mrs. Jones is drinking is not going to satisfy her, but will release INSULIN, which causes her later to rationalize the downing of a 400 calorie ICE CREAM -- she is damn hungry, has insulin, and the IDEA of having drank the DIET PEPSI makes her further feel guilt free in downing the 400 calorie ICE CREAM. Clear enough genius? You do not know how the brain works. GET A BRAIN.
And bullshit is bullshit. Mrs. Jones will be *just* as satiated by Diet Pepsi as the all-natural sugary version (to wit: not very much). The latter will prompt insulin release; the former won't.
The rest of your screed is just a cavalcade of sloppy assumptions; one could just as easily avoid the ice cream. You might as well have thrown in "The caffeine will jog her memory, so she goes outside to get the mail and gets hit by a bus. Therefore, Diet Pepsi causes manslaughter."
Please do not put your filthy words in my mouth. I did not say SUGAR will not cause INSULIN release. Sugar causes GLYCOGEN build up and satisfaction, whereas SACCHARIN causes (presumably) insulin release or some other as yet unidentified mechanism BECAUSE the COWS and RATS feed food with zero calorie SACCHARINE versus SUGAR actually GAINED WEIGHT with the SACCHARINE because they ate more (other foods). If that does not penetrate your skull, it is strike 9 and three outs. You lose.
1) Sugar triggers the release of insulin LONG before it starts getting converted to and stored as glycogen. Saccharin doesn't trigger insulin release because it isn't a carbohydrate.
2) Cows and rats aren't people.
3) Your fictional study conducted by imaginary researchers failed to provide any sort of mechanism by which ingestion of saccharin results in a significant increase in (cow/rat) appetite.
Cows and rats are mammals, and animal studies confirm what many people see: fat people drinking DIET SOFT DRINKS in record amounts as OBESITY rises. Diet sugars cause people to eat more. The "fictional" studies are real. If you call real studies fictional, then you are a denialist. Denialists are specialists of DENIAL. Welcome to your sick, twisted world! Enjoy!
I'm still waiting for you to provide us with these vaunted studies of yours. All you've proffered thus far is a poorly-designed screed from... someone... in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Even in this single "study" of yours, the "researchers" admit to not being able to prove that saccharin stimulates the cow/rat appetite- they merely conclude such because they wanted to. ROFL!!!
Study: Artificial sweetener may disrupt body's ability to count calories
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Choosing a diet soft drink over a regular, sugar-packed beverage may not be the best way to fight obesity, according to new research from Purdue University. But the researchers said this doesn't mean you should grab a regularly sweetened soft drink instead.
Where was this study published? (Last time I checked, West Lafayette, Indiana wasn't a prestigious medical journal.)
Anyway, I'm calling bullshit from the outset. From the standpoint of avoiding weight gain, anyone with half a brain can tell you that a zero-calorie beverage is better than a 300-calorie 20 ounce bottle Pepsi.
@Getalis Now I know what a mental midget I am dealing with. Learn PSYCHOLOGY not 3rd grade math.
Did it ever occur to you that "Mrs. Jones" is STILL consuming fewer calories with the [Diet Pepsi + Ice Cream] combo than if she'd gone with the [Regular Pepsi + Ice Cream] option?
Furthermore, the [Diet Pepsi + Ice Cream] option has less sugar, which means it won't trigger as much of an insulin release. (The "Insulin = Weight Gain" thing is itself a modern-day dietary myth, but you seem so scared of the hormone I just couldn't resist throwing that in.)
You are likely a one-testicle lad who had a large tumor removed from one of your cerebral lobes, not sure which one yet.
For the (not counting but) TENTH TIME...the studies showed that the ANIMALS GAINED WEIGHT when given SACCHARIN versus SUGAR, because they ate OTHER foods, not because they got calories from saccharin. Thus, diet drinks actually cause weight GAIN because they cause people to EAT MORE for psychological or physiological reasons that have not been determined yet. .
1) By your own admission, the weight gain was caused by the "other foods", NOT the saccharin.
2) By your own admission, the researchers couldn't provide any explanation (plausible or otherwise) to isolate saccharin as the cause of appetite increase. (i.e. "reasons that have not been determined yet" = "here's a conclusion with absolutely nothing to support it")
3) The two artificial sweeteners used in the vast majority of American diet sodas are aspartame and sucralose, NOT saccharin.
I was waiting for the #3. There it is. When cornered, you go to the "prove it for each artificial sweetener" route. Why do you not first wait and prove it is safe before you turn the tables and ask me to prove it is unsafe. Sugar is made by nature. Artificial sweeteners are not found in nature, but are created by human laboratories. Sucralose was 'invented' during INSECTICIDE research. yes, INSECTICIDES! Look it up, people. GOOGLE Insecticides and SUCRALOSE, people!
Neither sucralose nor aspartame were involved in insecticide research. That's just alarmist bullshit made up and thrown around by idiots with Internet connections.
Both molecules have been proven safe; that they are so is now the null hypothesis. Anyone wishing to challenge that status quo will find the burden of proof to be upon *them*.
Aspartame is a "multipotential carcinogen", causing a dose-related increase in leukemias and lymphomas in female rats, and a dose-related increase in incidence of cancer and its precursors in the kidney (renal pelvis and ureter) as well as tumors in the peripheral nerves, in particular in cranial nerves.
Aspartame is metabolized-->Methanol--> in turn --> formaldehyde. They've linked both methanol and formaldehyde to a significant increase of leukemias and lymphomas.DRINK UP getalis Bon appetit
Um, I've been drinking diet soda for decades now. No cancer, no leukemia, no nothing. Guess you STILL don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Once again, I'll point out that the laughably small amount of methanol derived from aspartame is almost instantly broken down further into CO2 and water. Both of which are exhaled within the hour post-ingestion. You'd know this if you'd ever done any real research on the subject, as opposed to kook fringe websites run by "Nancy Markle".
I never recommended Snopes-dot-com as anything other than a stinging smackdown of a specific urban legend you continued (and still continue) to promote. You're just afraid to look at the page because you know the crushing weight of reality will be too much for your childish mind to bear!
That's impossible, given that saccharin's caloric content is- by your own admission- nothing compared to that of "higher calorie sugar". No calories (actually no substance providing caloric energy) = nothing to convert into fat!
Weight gain is a function of more calories absorbed than burned. You fail accounting forever; go back to recess.
Well, again you FAIL to understand basic science. The "empty" saccharin drink will lead to a consumption of ICE CREAM, whereas the SATISFIED (sugary) Pepsi-soaked tummy will not seek out the ice cream. You are a hired hack of the diet pop industry and are the moral equivalent of the Turkish deniers of the Armenian Genocide.
For the (not counting but) 11th TIME...the studies showed that the ANIMALS GAINED WEIGHT when given SACCHARIN versus SUGAR, because they ate OTHER foods, not because they got calories from saccharin. Thus, diet drinks actually cause weight GAIN because they cause people to EAT MORE for psychological or physiological reasons that have not been determined yet.
And for the 12th time (or "TIME..." if you prefer), humans aren't bipedal cows. Your little study (if it even exists- you STILL haven't provided a UI) doesn't really demonstrate anything...
They also found that while rats fed aspartame ate less food, there was no difference in weight between treated and untreated animals. Scientists at the independent European Ramazzini Foundation for cancer research in Bologna. Other studies showed RATS and cows GAINED weight! In the USA, one looks at OBESITY and consumption of ARTIFICIAL SWEENETERS and SUGARY DRINKS. As artificial sweeteners consumptions rises and consumption of sugary drinks falls, OBESITY rises and rises. Cancer/autism UP. Hmm.
keep taking aspartame you ass clown because when your gone the rest of us who use sugar will still be here . thanks for making more room and space for us. remember ass clown our grandparents lived a happy old life most to there 80s and they allways loved sweets and sugar fool . now go away and have a diet coke and choke on the fake shit.
Last I checked, carbohydrates were one of the SIX nutrients, and prevent ketone body formation and they also spare proteins. Last I checked ASPARTAME and SUCRALOSE were invented by men in white coats playing with insecticides and/or they metabolize into methanol and formaldehyde. Hmm. DRINK UP your diet coke. Let's get you off the planet faster. DRINK UP. Bon appetit! Saccharin is illegal (banned) in CANADA...so do not go there, okay?
In other words, you never checked on any of this stuff. There are only *three* nutrients: carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Secondly, no artificial sweetener has anything to do whatsoever with insecticides- that's simply a bit of convenient fiction you lunatics invented to entertain yourselves during shiny object shortages.
Third, the miniscule amount of methanol derived from aspartame is *further* metabolized into CO2 & water and exhaled within minutes.
There are only three substances officially recognized as nutrients by dietary science: carbs, fats and proteins. Occasionally, ethanol is listed as the pseudo-fourth nutrient, as it meets the two basic requirements of such (unique structure and conveyance of caloric energy).
Please, entertain me further by revealing the identities of the 5th and 6th "nutrients", rofl!

The word "DIET" does not belong in front of Aspartame-COKE but "WILL MAKE U FAT" should be!
humanstructureVIDEOS 7 months ago
@humanstructureVIDEOS You fail logic yet again. Your marijuana snacks cause weight gain because of their caloric content (carbs, fats, etc.). By definition, calorie-free substances (artificial sweeteners) CANNOT cause weight gain. You might as well be saying that the Prius was damaged in a head-on with an H3, not because of the comparative vehicle sizes, but because the H3 had a bumper sticker!

Thanks for this VIDEO!
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
[audible sigh]
Glucose isn't a "mechanism" for insulin release, it's a "*trigger*. There is a difference, and people who know what the hell they're talking about KNOW that difference.
Once again, I've consumed at least twenty ounces of diet soda today, and absolutely NO ice cream! So much for your dietary predestination theories! (ROFL)
Getalis 1 year ago 2
@Getalis Blood glucose is a well-known component of the mechanism for release of insulin. Your obfuscation is hereby noted. Sugar-containing POP contains sodium benzoate. EDTA, and sodium nitrate are other dangerous chemicals found in food. Sugar does not mean "good." Sugar-free also does not mean "good." Non-processed foods are the best. The more processed, the worse, in general. Not everyone has a chicken in the backyard and an apple tree to pick. I avoid cigs and diet pop and hot dogs

humanstructureVIDEOS 7 months ago
@humanstructureVIDEOS Once again, artificial sweeteners don't cause weight gain, primarily because they *can't* cause weight gain. I've totally mopped the floor with you on this topic, and you're still too dense to figure it out!
And no, they don't "cause" weight loss per se, but they replace stuff that would otherwise contribute to weight gain. So in that vein, they can be a critical part of a successful weight loss regimen.
Dr. Oz is a quack, just not as big of one as Mercola, ROFL!!!
Getalis 7 months ago
You are wrong, Getalis. Artificial sweeteners have been associated with weight gain in humans and other mammals. Thus, the responsibility rides on your back to prove "artificial sweeteners do not cause weight gain" since so far they DO cause WEIGHT GAIN (humans, mammals). Possible mechanisms include (1) stimulating insulin release (2) preparing body for"calorie-rich sweet load of sugar" which (like you) never comes. (3). blunting the sweet gustatory receptors=crave more calories.
humanstructureVIDEOS 7 months ago
@humanstructureVIDEOS Again, you fail remedial logic. Artificial sweeteners do not impart caloric energy. Therefore, they CANNOT cause weight gain.
If you wish to posit otherwise, the burden of proof lies with you. Given that you have failed to rise to this challenge in over a year, I suspect you secretly know that you've been soundly beaten on this issue and are merely trying to save face! ;-)

Getalis 1 year ago
Dear Hired Hack or Chemistry drop-out:
Insulin is released by many mechanisms we do not fully understand yet. The GLUCOSE stimulation is obvious. A little punk like you (a) fails to understand what I write or (b) distorts what i write -- either way (a) or (b) you are a WORLD CLASS FLAMER. Artificial sweeteners are believed to be one of the newer "to be" studied causes of insulin release, as it is WELL-KNOWN the artificial sweeteners are associated with WEIGHT GAIN versus SUGAR. Distort that now
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
@humanstructureVIDEOS
Understand now?
Getalis 1 year ago
Having people around you who are ordering and loudly eating delicious pizza does not impart any calories, either, but can lead to weight gain.
When did they remove the large tumor from your brain? You have no capacity for deep thoughts.
Artificial sweeteners caused weight gain in animals --cows and rats --they ended up eating more of the foods which contain calories, um, GET IT NOW dum dum flamer?

Getalis 1 year ago
@Getalis Just swallow your (very large) arrogance / pride and admit it.
Some study chemistry and some biology but never go to higher levels or put it all together - e.g. environment. Gain an understanding of the complexities of the CEPHALIC phase of digestion. Beta cells of the pancreas are stimulated by glucose, but other things including the brain can stimulate many glands and parts of the digestive tract -- e.g. artificial sweeteners can trigger a human to have an appetite for MORE food.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
I've studied more chemistry/biology than you'll ever know. And I graduated from the "higher level" phase many years ago. Face it- you're totally out of your league here.
Artificial sweeteners don't "trick" the pancreas, beta cells or anything else into releasing insulin. These processes are far more complex than your Bugs Bunny cartoonish understanding of human physiology.

@humanstructureVIDEOS
correct me if i'm wrong, but did you just mention that artificial sweeteners causes insulin release? and that it's associated with weight gain?
tristy89 1 year ago
@tristy89 I cited the ideas of others. A few studies done (using cows and rats) are searchable on the internet, and one (from Purdue, I believe) stated that the reason for the weight gain is not know but a release of insulin is possible. The rats and cows gained weight on the diet with the artificial sweeteners -- obviously not due to the artificial sweetener itself being converted directly into calories BUT due to other reasons -- one of which could be (possibly) insulin release.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
@humanstructureVIDEOS
I'm kinda skeptical about internet sources : |
Some articles from the Nature journal say totally diff man =|. Aspartame isn't absorbed because the chemical composition of it is too huge; furthermore, aspartame is made up of aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and a methylated ester; none of which can elicit insulin responses. so... there are generally no calories to be gained from artificial sweeteners, nor an insulin response
anyways, that's what i know from nature/toxicology
tristy89 1 year ago
@tristy89
ROFL.
Getalis 1 year ago
@Getalis lol Research cites weight GAIN with artificial sweeteners & I've pinpointed your idiocy: you blindly neglect the importance of the cephalic phase of digestion, which does include the time prior to a meal entering the oral cavity (mouth). Artificial sweeteners are chemicals with zero nutritional value and zero calories, which taste sweet & cause stimulation & weight gain. So then why drink them? Why drink FAKE sugar -- artificial & causes weight gain? Feel free to "drug" / drink up !
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
If they have no calories (technically false, but you're already confused enough as it is), they cannot cause weight gain. You just contradicted yourself AGAIN, and you don't even realize it.

Getalis 1 year ago
@Getalis Society and fast food restaurants (as ubiquitous buildings) do not provide calories, either, but are associated with weight gain. A scientific study showed that artificial sweetener consumption in rats and cows caused weight GAIN! Obviously it stimulated something! So you are wrong again.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
Rats and cows aren't people. Even if your fictional study was ever performed, its results aren't applicable to mankind.
Getalis 1 year ago
You said ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS. The study I was citing used Saccharin. The point of the matter is animals fed artificial sweeteners GAINED weight. Whether insulin is released, is not released, is a moot point. The FACT is animals fed 2 different diets, the one with the 6 nutrients plus artificial sweeteners gained more weight than the 6 nutrients alone, and more than one study showed this. The studies are not "internet junk," they are searchable on the internet as is Cephalic phase of digestion
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
Um, seeing as how you yourself claimed that insulin release was the cause of weight gain, whether or not it's released by artificial sweeteners is anything BUT a "moot point". And once again, science only recognizes three nutrients. Not six.
Do you even read what you type?
Getalis 1 year ago
@Getalis You are in denial. The study mentioned THE POSSIBILITY of the cause of the weight gain being insulin. I do not know if it was insulin or not--but they GAINED WEIGHT! I do not know why they gained weight--that needs to be investigated along with further studies, but who will pay for these studies? People: STAY AWAY FROM ARTIFICIAL (FAKE) CHEMICAL SWEETENERS: they are no good. Natural is best!
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
@humanstructureVIDEOS
Okay, so now you're backpeddling even FURTHER. After spending the past three weeks claiming that artificial sweeteners trigger insulin release which in turn causes weight gain, you now say insulin might not be involved at all.
Why don't you just admit that you don't know what the hell you're talking about?
Getalis 1 year ago
@Getalis The people who did one of the studies said (possibly) insulin release -- but maybe it was another reason...maybe even coincidence. More studies should be done, but it is clear that rats and cows gained weight in more than one study, wherein they ate foods with artificial sweeteners and foods with natural sweeteners (sugar). You apparently found one of the studies, and now we are making progress and debating the cause of the weight gain. The studies raise questions; we need more studies.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
I never "found" the study (singular, not plural) you keep bringing up because you have yet to provide a citation, UI or PubMed ID. I've been requesting such for weeks on end, but to no avail. It's becoming rather obvious that you just made the whole thing up.

There are no long-term (12-24 months) human studies of sucralose's effects.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago

Sucralose isn't an insecticide, you blithering imbecile. It's three atoms removed from regular table sugar.
You probably think table salt is an "insecticide" because it's 50% chlorine. ROFLMAO!!!

Now we have MORE OBESITY: Thanks fake sugars for stimulating our appetites
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago

Or do you not even know what a UI is?
Getalis 1 year ago
@GetalisGOOGLE TIS: data clearly indicate that consuming a food sweetened with no-calorie saccharin can lead to greater body-weight gain and adiposity than would consuming the same food sweetened with higher calorie sugar.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
1) No, the data do not indicate that at all...
2) ...because that's biochemically impossible.

Getalis 1 year ago
studies (rats, cows) show that the artificial sweeteners essentially cause SOME reaction (e.g. release of insulin, or who knows) which subsequently caused weight gain, i.e.

The body may use this information to determine how much food is required to meet its caloric needs."
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
Skip to the part where they back up this feeble claim with actual SCIENCE. (Oh, wait: they didn't...)
Skip to the part where they explain how a 300-calorie bottle of Pepsi curbs weight gain better than a zero-calorie bottle of Diet Pepsi. (Oh, wait: it isn't...)
Even if what they fantasize were true, the body using sweetness to gauge caloric intake would result in weight LOSS, since the satiation trigger would be pulled prematurely. What a fucking joke!!! XD
Getalis 1 year ago
A scientific study is a scientific study. The SUGAR FREE Pepsi that Mrs. Jones is drinking is not going to satisfy her, but will release INSULIN, which causes her later to rationalize the downing of a 400 calorie ICE CREAM -- she is damn hungry, has insulin, and the IDEA of having drank the DIET PEPSI makes her further feel guilt free in downing the 400 calorie ICE CREAM. Clear enough genius? You do not know how the brain works. GET A BRAIN.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
And bullshit is bullshit. Mrs. Jones will be *just* as satiated by Diet Pepsi as the all-natural sugary version (to wit: not very much). The latter will prompt insulin release; the former won't.
The rest of your screed is just a cavalcade of sloppy assumptions; one could just as easily avoid the ice cream. You might as well have thrown in "The caffeine will jog her memory, so she goes outside to get the mail and gets hit by a bus. Therefore, Diet Pepsi causes manslaughter."
GET A CLUE.
Getalis 1 year ago
Please do not put your filthy words in my mouth. I did not say SUGAR will not cause INSULIN release. Sugar causes GLYCOGEN build up and satisfaction, whereas SACCHARIN causes (presumably) insulin release or some other as yet unidentified mechanism BECAUSE the COWS and RATS feed food with zero calorie SACCHARINE versus SUGAR actually GAINED WEIGHT with the SACCHARINE because they ate more (other foods). If that does not penetrate your skull, it is strike 9 and three outs. You lose.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
1) Sugar triggers the release of insulin LONG before it starts getting converted to and stored as glycogen. Saccharin doesn't trigger insulin release because it isn't a carbohydrate.
2) Cows and rats aren't people.
3) Your fictional study conducted by imaginary researchers failed to provide any sort of mechanism by which ingestion of saccharin results in a significant increase in (cow/rat) appetite.
Getalis 1 year ago
Cows and rats are mammals, and animal studies confirm what many people see: fat people drinking DIET SOFT DRINKS in record amounts as OBESITY rises. Diet sugars cause people to eat more. The "fictional" studies are real. If you call real studies fictional, then you are a denialist. Denialists are specialists of DENIAL. Welcome to your sick, twisted world! Enjoy!
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
I'm still waiting for you to provide us with these vaunted studies of yours. All you've proffered thus far is a poorly-designed screed from... someone... in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Study: Artificial sweetener may disrupt body's ability to count calories
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Choosing a diet soft drink over a regular, sugar-packed beverage may not be the best way to fight obesity, according to new research from Purdue University. But the researchers said this doesn't mean you should grab a regularly sweetened soft drink instead.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
Where was this study published? (Last time I checked, West Lafayette, Indiana wasn't a prestigious medical journal.)
Anyway, I'm calling bullshit from the outset. From the standpoint of avoiding weight gain, anyone with half a brain can tell you that a zero-calorie beverage is better than a 300-calorie 20 ounce bottle Pepsi.
Getalis 1 year ago
@Getalis Now I know what a mental midget I am dealing with. Learn PSYCHOLOGY not 3rd grade math.
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
Did it ever occur to you that "Mrs. Jones" is STILL consuming fewer calories with the [Diet Pepsi + Ice Cream] combo than if she'd gone with the [Regular Pepsi + Ice Cream] option?
Furthermore, the [Diet Pepsi + Ice Cream] option has less sugar, which means it won't trigger as much of an insulin release. (The "Insulin = Weight Gain" thing is itself a modern-day dietary myth, but you seem so scared of the hormone I just couldn't resist throwing that in.)
Figured out what a UI is yet?
Getalis 1 year ago
You are likely a one-testicle lad who had a large tumor removed from one of your cerebral lobes, not sure which one yet.
For the (not counting but) TENTH TIME...the studies showed that the ANIMALS GAINED WEIGHT when given SACCHARIN versus SUGAR, because they ate OTHER foods, not because they got calories from saccharin. Thus, diet drinks actually cause weight GAIN because they cause people to EAT MORE for psychological or physiological reasons that have not been determined yet. .
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago
1) By your own admission, the weight gain was caused by the "other foods", NOT the saccharin.
2) By your own admission, the researchers couldn't provide any explanation (plausible or otherwise) to isolate saccharin as the cause of appetite increase. (i.e. "reasons that have not been determined yet" = "here's a conclusion with absolutely nothing to support it")
3) The two artificial sweeteners used in the vast majority of American diet sodas are aspartame and sucralose, NOT saccharin.
Getalis 1 year ago
I was waiting for the #3. There it is. When cornered, you go to the "prove it for each artificial sweetener" route. Why do you not first wait and prove it is safe before you turn the tables and ask me to prove it is unsafe. Sugar is made by nature. Artificial sweeteners are not found in nature, but are created by human laboratories. Sucralose was 'invented' during INSECTICIDE research. yes, INSECTICIDES! Look it up, people. GOOGLE Insecticides and SUCRALOSE, people!
humanstructureVIDEOS 1 year ago

Getalis 1 year ago
