The people who invented Jazz where African Americans though. I'm noticing alot of white people have a hard time saying it. No one has a problem saying and knowing white people invented classical music. So why cant they do the same with jazz......
@BantuNation Hi Mr Nation, I agree with you completely. I too am convinced that jazz was invented by black people it's just that we have no names before Jelly Roll and since he was black it seems reasonable to credit him. Another possibility is that credit should go to Tony Jackson who was also a New Orleans pianist around the same time
The other person who could claim a hand in the creation of jazz is Louis Armstrong, which Bing Crosby always acknowledged
HE DIDN'T STEAL THE NAME!! VALENTINO IS A NICKNAME THAT WAS GIVEN TO HIM BECAUSE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE BORN ON VALENTINE'S DAY, BUT HE WAS BORN ON THE 27th!!!!
Now,now children let's not be nasty. The diminutive R'n'B singer obviously thought he needed a good name to make up for his lack of stature and lack of talent in writing songs and playing musical instruments. It's a bit difficult being a handsome hunk when your only 5' 2" tall.
Let's not mock the vertically challenged. Bless his little cotton socks.
But Prince is one of the most talented men on the planet. Not only does he: write great songs, many of which have been hits for him or other artists; sing fantastically; play guitar as well as any in the world, but also does all this and dances at the same time. Wow
Never seen this despite before have the album, the singles and some promos. Seen him many's a time mostly with Hank's band and ocassionally with Los Pistoleros. Thanks for uploading this. Great.
This is bobby valentino and has been since 1975. If you search thru Youtube will will find him performing with the likes of: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers; The Style Council; The Men They Couldn't Hang; Fabulous Poodles; Los Pistoleros; Jools Holland and many more.
No he isn't bobby Valentino his voice is so DIFFERENT and the 'bobby valentino' who you think he is looks very different than the bobby valentino now!!
This is the real Bobby Valentino. There's a very short American guy who appropriated the same name. This one's the original multi-talented, 6'3" singer/songwriter/violinist who has performed with everyone worth mentioning. Do yourself a favour and seek out "You're in the groove, Jackson", his sublime album (which includes "The man who invetned jazz") - which was released when the short US fella was about 6 years old.

False Claim, he did help make it popular though.

This is the REAL Bobby Valentino who can play musical instruments (violin & guitar), write songs and sing in-tune.

A bit of a strange reply. If an established musician, singer and songwriter is using a name it's not OK to use the same name.
What if his nick-name was Elvis Presley, David Bowie or Paul McCartney? Do you really think the child sized R'nB singer(?) should use it?
dothenson 3 years ago
What a unique idea. How many people have nicknames before they are born?
