this film is set before the fist, yes. But it all comes together, the story is not about the man aka Jaa its about the Buddha. This is its origens so look at it like this. The role being played by Jaa in this film is the four fother of Ting who he also played in the first.. same Buddha passed down over time.
I thought Ong Bak 2 was better than the first. You can tell the difference... better sets, action, acting and choreography....obviously a bigger budget.
