Those of us who play D&D know exactly what a robot designed by Vecna to recover the fallen from a battlefield is *really* designed to do. Absolutely chilling.
Man I just read about this thing in Design Magazine today and I must say I'm impressed. This is simply the best US-design robot I've ever seen. I can't wait for the series 2 BEAR's that walk on their treads; 4 treads with joints connected each pair. It allows them to function as treads AND legs. Really, quite impressive stuff from Vecna...
this is some silent hill shit. not sure if we really wanna scare the crap out of our wounded guys.

Excellent! I saw a video of this on Backyard to Battlefield, and this is a great idea.
As for soldier protection during transport, you could use smoke, suppressive fire, a trailing vehicle..
I could see this robot being deployed from a Ripsaw, grabbing the soldier, returning to the rip and then getting the heck out of there.

awesome idea, but wouldnt it be advisable to keep the wounded soldier under enemys line fire????? rather than 6 foot in the air.
