I see that theres some discussion about Finnish people posting a lot of videos about the wars against Soviet Union. And it seems that some of you don't like it and think of it like it would be boasting. You must understand that it is a very sensitive thing for us Finns still. We are very, very proud of our veterans, because they did something that everyone else thought as impossible. I hope no one will ever forget that. Atleast I never will. A unification between the Northern countries could well work out.
We are the same race, which has it's history and culture combined, and we also have very simular languages.
A unification would mean more saying on a worldwide scale. We could become a superpower, both economically and in millitary strenght!

I think I should base a foundation for Nordic Federation or something, just to make sure that it could someday be more than just a dream :) If Nordic countries did form Federal pact with shared/common constitution and will become one country, we could finally get out of the European Union and slip free from the grip of the Brussels.
@PesiCool Well and unification actually has been on the talk a few times, but didnt work out - and our countries dont want to give up their sovereignity, plus Denmark and Sweden already are in the European Union. An unification would be great but I also love my own country as it is (Denmark) even though I'd like we still had our old territory.

After all, my country Finland probably wouldn't even exist, at least in its current form, if Russia hadn't carved the Grand Duchy from almost half of the former area of Sweden in 1809. Norway, on the other hand, would've become independent sooner or later nevertheless (and Denmark, I believe, was already). There is quite obviously a strong connection between Scandinavian peoples and you should be proud of that.

I'm Danish and I don't hate Finland or Finns in any way. And though I've never been to Finland I am convinced that we share strong cultural bonds and that Finland is as much a Nordic country as the other four. At times, I have corrected people (even lots of Finns) for including Finland in Scandinavia and calling Finns Scandinavians. But this doesn't mean I hate Finns. I just feel a closer ETHNIC/LINGUISTIC bond to Swedes and Norwegians as I basically consider Scandinavians one people.

I see that theres some discussion about Finnish people posting a lot of videos about the wars against Soviet Union. And it seems that some of you don't like it and think of it like it would be boasting. You must understand that it is a very sensitive thing for us Finns still. A unification between the Northern countries could well work out.
We are the same race, which has it's history and culture combined, and we also have very simular languages.
A unification would mean more saying on a worldwide scale. We could become a superpower, both economically and in millitary strenght!
Think of all the natural resources and land mass for a nation of merely 20 milion people... (even better if we exclude foreigners, a bit racist maybe, but these are our lands, get out!!) ;)

I think I should base a foundation for Nordic Federation or something, just to make sure that it could someday be more than just a dream :) If Nordic countries did form Federal pact with shared/common constitution and will become one country, we could finally get out of the European Union and slip free from the grip of the Brussels.

@PesiCool Well and unification actually has been on the talk a few times, but didnt work out - and our countries dont want to give up their sovereignity, plus Denmark and Sweden already are in the European Union. An unification would be great but I also love my own country as it is (Denmark) even though I'd like we still had our old territory.

@PesiCool In 1864 when Denmark was at war with Austria and Prussia in the Second Schleswig war a large number of Swedish volunteers joined and we had many Norwegian officers (2 of them became war heros) and in the first Schleswig war Ive herd a lot of Scandinavian volunteers joined and the war was won by Denmark.
And in second worldwar Finland was invaded (old Swedish territory and often concluted as scandinavian) many Swedes and norwegian fought and the Swedes aided in material.

After all, my country Finland probably wouldn't even exist, at least in its current form, if Russia hadn't carved the Grand Duchy from almost half of the former area of Sweden in 1809. Norway, on the other hand, would've become independent sooner or later nevertheless (and Denmark, I believe, was already). I'm Danish and I don't hate Finland or Finns in any way. And though I've never been to Finland I am convinced that we share strong cultural bonds and that Finland is as much a Nordic country as the other four. At times, I have corrected people (even lots of Finns) for including Finland in Scandinavia and calling Finns Scandinavians. But this doesn't mean I hate Finns. I just feel a closer ETHNIC/LINGUISTIC bond to Swedes and Norwegians as I basically consider Scandinavians one people.

Norway and Denmark was taken by surprise.

Denmark is not a part of the Scandinavian Peninsula like Sweden and Norway, but we share similar culltures and languages. And that's what defines Scandinavia, not just the geography. Norway didn´t lost in few days.. You must be mistaken it for Denmark or Sweden. Norway Fought in the world war 2... non of the other two scandinavian countries did..Read about the battle in Narvik and the telemark warriors.
In Faroe Islands two men shot down luftwaffen planes. Two Civilians. Thats what i call manhood and bravery. Makes me proud to come from there.

Actually many german soldiers were killed during the invasion of Denmark. One bomber was shot down and many german tanks were destroyed. Denmark "only" lost 13 soldiers, but we lost all of our airplanes:(
