  • Such an elegant, romantic, beautiful song, & performance! I love the warm feel & design of the room and the mood it sets for the song... and I love the style of the Indian outfit! Superb!

  • So... What's with the outfit? Is it a religious thing? lol but great performance, man.

  • @c4r50n1

Yup. It's a religious thing. I'm the high priest of THEREMINISM. The theremin rules!

  • @copperleaves WHAT DO I DO TO JOIN THE CHURCH!!! I ALREADY HAVE A MOOG ETHERWAVE STANDARD!

  • This is one of my favourite classical music pieces... too romantic? There is no such thing as "too romantic"!

I loved this performance, especially the wonderful theremin playing and the keyboard - the continuum a bit less, maybe I'd have configured it with a mellower sound... but anyway, globally it's superb.

  • Always great to here and see your videos Peter. Best wishes to you from the U.K from Kriss

  • Peter, this is really wonderful.

  • I AM AERPHONIC I have listened to Schubert's Serenade many times, but I have never heard it played with such emotional perfection as Mr. Copperleaves imparted to it. It is obvious to me that this musician not only plays well but seems to understand the work in his own unique way and not simply reproduce the notes. The continuum provides a lovey yet non-intrusive adjunct to the theremin sound. The unbaffled speaker also interests me.

  • Hi @aerphonic :

About the unbaffled speaker - it is a 12 inch custom CLARATONE speaker made by Miami vintage theremin expert, Reid Welch. Not using a baffle weakens the output, and certain frequencies tend to cancel one another out. This might seem like a bad idea, but in fact it gives the tone a more delicate and uneven "human" quality. I'm glad you liked my rendition of the SERENADE. I believe that Franz Schubert was arguably the greatest songwriter who ever lived.

  • Always like hearing your work :)

  • This really shows off the vocal quality of the theremin!
