My general strategy would be for base:

Supply build=back

Military build=front

Everything else/reactors= middle

For military, I'd say build up 5 heavy vehicles, 3 fast vehicle, whatever number of light vehicles, and a badass number of soldiers.

P.S- I'd turn those supply buildings to heavy if I were u and have at least 2.

The good news is that he took down the mega turret, the bad news is that Forge was down. The extra bad news is that your base is under attack. The good news that counters that previous bad news is that he attacked the forces that attacked his base and got reinforcements and regrouped. Also he got a new base. The pros out weigh the cons.

i think people are being way too critical, yes he left the base unguarded but he didnt lose it did he? I think he was placing priority on taking down the mega turret,,,that thing causes all sorts of hell laater if not delt with immidiatly, specially on legendary, once down he caan go back to defending the base and use that second base to his advantage,,,i think its a good stratergy :) for halo wars aat least

true legendary does make things much more complicated but I have managed to get is done basing my strategy off what he did in this vid, it just requires more organisation and more multi-tasking as the way I did it also involved pushing forward on the right as wel as the left to avoid being overwhelmed, but hey he has the basic ground work.

not to the base, the idea is if the enemy is tied up trying to smash your offensive they have nothing to send that would pose a threat beyond what the turrets can handle

Its risky cause if your offensive breaks the enemy has a free path to your then undefended base but if it works base defense is no problem, trust me it works

first off you said what the turrets can handle, meaning you did have defenses up after all,

second, since in legendary everyones stronger, id like to see a quick rush army take out several hunters, jackals and base turrets.

i dont really count the base turrets as real defense, they may be able to deal with certain forces but the lack of ability to place them where you want detracts from their usefulless, so yeah my point stil stands and yep agreed a rush to damange the enemy early is also a good way of doing things.

once again, since everyone is stronger a good rushing army has a great chance of failing. secondly, if youve played beachhead then you'll realize that the turrets are so much more usefor then you think when it comes to stopping baddies. third it still is considerded difense

oh i misunderstood,,,my tactic isnt a "rush" its taking what forces you have and sending them against the enemy before they can move against your base with the idea of keeping them at bay not defeating them entirely, last I checked a rush is where you gather as many of the cheapest units you can and rush them at the enemy base,,,thats not what I'm talking about.

offense as defence is hardly a new idea,,,look it up

heres the tactics i used i deployed 2 spartans 1 with the rocklets and spartan laser in the 3 crashed pelican and i also put marines there and then i trained more marins and took the other base. it works
