Saw this lad win the Manx newcomers from the grandstand, then we all watched him come into the winners enclosure before having to come home. Was a real shock to hear he'd lost his life the next day. RIP... real talent
My chum Kevin and I were watching at Parliament Square and we were rooting for Wayne, so far up the field had he flown by the second lap, and when he disappeared off the radar of Manx Radio after the pitstop, we just knew something was up. I contacted my friend in the paddock, and he later confirmed the worst. My heart bleeds for his family, but they have consolation, albeit scant, that at least he died doing something he loved, and few of us get that choice.
So very sad that such a talented young lad came to his end this way after an outstanding newcomers race. Very sad too that another young lad from Southport Ben Gautrey lost his life at Cadwell park that same afternoon being just 18 years old.
We were all gutted to hear of his death, we watched at the Sulby and Micheal Sweeney had retired there, we were sat having a beer when the news came through, we had tears in our eyes, R.I.P. Wayne you shone so bright but as usual with the brightest stars they burn out far too soon. condolences to the family.
I was going to write some sort of rhetoric about how a person dies, but it all seems inconsiquential when a life is lost.
This is my Island. The home that I adore and the guys who come here to face the challange of the course do so at their own risk, but, as an Islander I don't want to see one of them leave in such a way. I want to see them all as champions of the Isle. Not as a statistic.
Wonderful tribute to a shining star..... Yes baby boy, your mum has long arms and held your trophy as high as she could... Familys hearts are full of pride, sleep tight... Auntie P
what a sad day my heart goes out to his family and friends or any one who knew him. as the video says the sky has gained another star peace RIP WAYNE HAMILTON

Real shame about this lad, I were at Gorse Lea for the Newcomers race and he walked it, fell asleep waiting for the others to come past.
He was by far the most commited threw Gorse lea as well. Rest in peace fella, a huge talent, will be sadly missed.

Sad to say I only saw Wayne race once and that was his total domination of the newcomers Manx 2011. A sad loss of a great new talent.
A sensitive and fitting tribute you have put together here.
