Is Sylvia La Torre still alive? I still remember her from my pre-pubescent years in Manila!! She was pretty and has a great voice (she was classically-trained, I understand)!! She should have been given a National Artist Award or something for bringing joy to the hearts of millions of Filipinos many years ago!!!!

Yes, she is still alive. She currently resides in the US, where her family migrated in the 1980s. I think she was given a National Artist Award.

yeah she's still alive. lol. she was my singing coach when i was younger. she still performs sometimes with her grandchildren.
