Oh Where is she now I wonder? She was great!. A fabulous singer . I had a very serious crush on her in the mid 60's. Here's the truth about that.... in continuous postings
She, if I remember correctly, had some kind of management in Denmark street in london. Outside the door of the office, on the stairwell wall, hung a huge full head and shoulder picture of her. I was only a young drummer at the time and I looked at it every day on my way up to another management agency one flight above.
I saw her occasionally on the passing in Denmark st.,or on the stairway to the agencies and when I did my heart lept. One evening we(my group and I) were in the Ship bar in wardour steet near the Marquee and she was in there too!,,,
After a while fighting abject fear of rejection, I built up the courage to approach her and we began talking. This tall lanky Scots lad looking down on this tiny dream of a lass must have been an odd sight. Especially as I was physically shaking in my cuban heel boots and most probably talking in a dialect she had no idea how to decypher
. Anyway after a short while I asked her out and she agreed!!! ,,,she promised to see me the following day at the Denmark st offices. My luck didn't hold out. I waited all day and the next,, forever looking out the window into the street in between wandering up and down the stairs in the forlorn hope of seeing her again. I never did.
But, y' know,, I never held a grievance,, I had a short time talking to her and I guess that must have been good enough after all, for I'll never forget that as long as I live. Strange how one can carry a torch for so long eh?
Well Beryl if ever you read this, I hope you are still going strong darling,, cos I am,, I have often wondered you know, what would have happened if we had went out that time in the summer of 1965. You and I probably would have been a fine musical or artistic pair who may have spawned a squad of young uns who would certainly been a musical force to be reckoned with today... Of that I am dead sure.. If you read this I send you my warmest regards
I wonder why Beryl Marsden doesn't join one of the 60s tours as I'm sure she'd fit in well with the likes of The Searchers, Merseybeats and Swinging Blue Jeans!

@polishlancer That is one beautiful story man. At least you got to talk to her close up that one time.
