  • You study male nudity in Art history class; this art should not be banned. I love it and I'm sure a lot of other people love these art pieces also.

  • so how can they call themselves Cornwall Pride?

  • @ahp2011 Real Cornish Pride is March 5th, St.Pirans day...this new Cornwall (gay) Pride in August is all about pop music & gay scene commercial bar culture...at the exclusion of wider gay lifestyle, history & cultural interests.

  • I think your sculptures are fantastic. ♥

  • @twinnumber3 Thank you

  • Malcolm - have you tried having your art shown at Pride events in other locales? Just wondering if this is just a typical Cornwallian response vs other ciites. Can you post the address for Cornwall Pride so people can write a protest letter or will that make your life more complicated?

  • @feenixrising10 Unfortunately Cornwall Pride have a habit of ignoring correspondence.

    * A lesbian group are not welcome at Cornwall Pride

    * A local gay HIV/AIDS awareness Trust is not welcome at Cornwall Pride

    * A gay poet was excluded, as gay poetry was deemed 'political?'

    * A lesbian run gay gift business was excluded

    * Even a CWLL P business sponser last year informed me they were refused entry

    * A few gay individuals have been banned for making comment

I'm sure there are more cases

  • The question is WHY did Cornwall Pride ban the artwork and artist ?

  • @silentfades The Cornwall Pride chair person Neil Hawke stated in writing 'the sculptures' were not suitable for Cornwall Gay Pride as it is a family event. Unfortunately, Cornwall has very few examples of Roman or Greek statues in its cultural museums or even later Victorian copies. There is an aggressive move against traditional nudity in art in Cornwall, as demonsrated by an attack upon art paintings of Henry Scott Tuke RA by Intercom Trust .

  • @silentfades ...because the 'pagan & male nude' sculpture is not suitable for their commercial 'gay?' pride event, at least thats what they said

  • @thepinkpasty

    Ciao Bello!

    Il mio amico!

I'm so glad to see that you're doing what you can to expose the hipocrisy! We queer (LGBT/gay) folks haven't been exactly immune from contending with our own kind of "Lavender Mafias", attempting to impose their Orthodoxy! Keep it up "Amico Mio", the people of Cornwall deserve better!

    Grazie Mille Uomo Bello!

    Il Suo Amico
