I know people who post these videos are not responsible for the content of them. SESAME WORKSHOP is. But in spite of that I feel obligated to share my opinion of this video. Of all the great songs and scores Joe Raposo did for Sesame Street, this is one song I honestly do not like. I find the vocal melody and lyrics very dark, stern and intimidating. The message in this song I think is delivered too seriously, even though eating is an obligation. Still I'm glad many enjoy watching this.
You obviously missed the point of what I meant, but ok, whatever. So okay, you don't like the song, Nobody ever said you didn't have the right to speak your mind, so don't assume shit. Oh I forgot you hold the right to speak your mind, ya, well so does anybody else, cry me a river.
This probably sounds like a silly question, but did Joe Raposo have anything to do with the original Oompa Loompa songs? This song has their ring to it.
Thanks SO much!!! "You must eat very carefully, so you'll get bigger every day" . That line has been in my head for 35 years and I knew it was one of many of these Joe Raposo songs/films but I could not for the life of me remember the whole thing or exactly which one until just now. Thanks again!!!
I wonder how many kids misinterpreted the lyrics and got confused when eating didn't make THEM grow fur or wings... ;) Seriously though...thanks for finding this gem; it's not every Sesame fan who remembers that Joe Raposo wrote *another* song about eating.
