  • can u say DOA and EPIC FAIL

  • Reminds me of a Ford Pinto... what the truck also a Ford?

  • this happened a couple of miles from me.. alot of bad stuff happens around here.. just about a month ago a car full of teenagers was hit by an amtrack train going 70mph.. detroit and the surrounding areas are dangerous.

  • i seen it i was there buying 50 cent hamburgers MMM there so good, but the car burned my hand

  • its so crazy watching this happen on the streets i drive on everyday

  • OMG

  • The law reads if you are speeding and you are involved in an accident you are at fault.

I don't think that women turned in front of him on purpose. I guess it's hard to judge distance when someone is driving 85/90 in a 35 zone. In a stolen truck.

  • "Witnesses say the woman driving the minivan attempted to make an illegal turn on Martin, but according to police, she is not at fault. The man who died in the crash and was driving the stolen pickup is responsible. Police say because he was speeding, he no longer had the right of way."

  • how is that an illegal turn. if you look at the sign on the road it says "only" with the left turn arrow.

  • also, the minivan WAS stopped at the light then made the left.

that personis deffinatly gonna spend some timein court, prrobaly jail.

  • thats insane i lived couple blocks from there that happened on martin and michigan st

  • the truck driver did not drink. According to the news, he is a suspect of stealing this truck from the neighborhood... He is a thief, but he does not deserve this kind of punishment. The driver in the van should be charged for murder... stupid drivers like this should never be allowed to drive on this planet...

  • either way the guy in the red van should be charged with murder. you cant kill someone just for stealing a truck no matter how crappy a theif is!

  • The person in the van did not "kill" anyone. The reckless truck driver killed himself.

  • Too bad this does not happen to every thief and scumbag who steals a car and endangers everyone else on the road. It is my personal belief that anyone who runs from the police and endangers others by speeding through residential streets with no regard for others, if the police catch them - just shoot them on the spot. I mean why use my tax dollars to prosecute these scum when they are caught on tape. A 50 cent bullet is better than thousands in litigation and prosecution.

  • you're a terrible person, that is all

  • Correction, the black car was a cop car chasing the truck and was driving so fast while chasing it that the split second the camera had it out of frame was enough to make it look like it appeared from no where

  • It's the van driver's fault! The guy who stole the vehicle cannot be killed in any way!

  • Whats with the Black Lincoln Town car thata pops out of no where out of the crash? This video was edited BIG TIME!

Also, the Van was in on it, either it was an undercover cop driving the red van doing the spin manuver some citizen thinking they were going to help end the chase by crashing the truck off the road.

  • The Lincoln Town Car is a police vehicle. I saw it on another video clip that showed an earlier sequence of events and you can tell it has the flashing "reverse" strobe lights.

  • obviously it was edited since it was shown on national news...

  • that van was probably either A- an undercover cop trying to do the spin manuver or B - a citizen seein gthe cops chasing the truck and thought it would be a good idea to help out. No reason to make that turn like that if it wasnt a chase.

  • I wonder if the van driver can be charged with murder,or what crime if any, granted the light was green when he made the left turn,Considering that if this wasn't a chase he would of killed an innocent driver.

  • I bet the driver of the van didn't realize the speed of the truck when he started to go and thought he could beat him. I doubt it was intentional, just stupid driving, like many others on our roads today.

  • OMG was he ok?

  • nope

  • I heard about it this morning, too. Was glad to hear no innocent people were hurt. The guy in the truck took a chance on doing something he knew was wrong and paid the price. The outcome is unfortunate for him and his family. But, it is hard to feel bad for him as this can be likened to someone who chooses to drink and drive. We all know better. If you do it and it goes wrong, probably should have made a better choice. And it sure does look like that mini-van hit him deliberately. Unnecessary:(

  • Hey, maybe they should just stop chasing him and take a few hi-res pictures. Identify him from the pictures and take him to court. or you could chase him for a few hours through the city and risk peoples lives...

  • once again the drunk driver drives away unharmed.

  • The van hit the truck on purpose. If you look at the path was taking, if he completed the turn, he wouldn't have ended up in the parking lot or on the side street.

  • The van purposely hit the truck. and the way you can tell that is, when the van was turning, if it continued straight, it wasn't turning to the street or that little parking lot off the side.

  • looks like the van driver should be charged separately. unless he/she had a green turning signal.

  • I love Telway!

  • The driver of the van probably gonna be charged with vehicular homicide.

And also she (he) needs to check her vision.

  • I do hope the person/persons in the other pickup truck are okay though, it appears they were just trying to pull out of the Telway and their truck got spun sideways from the impact!

  • After looking at the Video I noticed the truck had the green light, the van had to yield to the truck and didn't instead it intentionally speed up possibly to hit the truck and be a hero. In all am happy for the ending but the van driver could be charged.

  • What was the idiot in the van thinking, even if there wasn't a police chase with a truck barrel-assing toward you being chased by numerous police vehicles, the light was green for the fleeing truck. Traffic was coming so the van didn't have the right of way to take a left in front of him like that! Dope!

  • Exactly! That guy in the van an idiot. I'm watching this video and I see the green light and I'm thinking...

"No.... This fool is not going to make a left turn into a POLICE CHASE!"

  • They should've given the guy a commendation for stopping a car thief--- We must all be thankful and grateful that the Telway has been left relatively unscathed!

  • Note to self, don't steal vehicles and go on police chases.

  • Vigilante or not, the driver was a woman.

  • hey Jay and Bill, I was listening to u guys this morning when this happend, you two were debating if the van pulled out intentionally or by accident cause you mentioned the blinker was on. Its really hard to tell. It really does look like get just gunned it into the side of the truck, what a unnecessary fatality, thanks for the awesome morning show, I listen every morning

  • It almost looks to me like the van hit the truck on purpose. I wonder if they gave him a ticket for not yielding for the left turn. RIP

  • My thoughts EXACTLY. I just commented the same on another video of this. The angle the van turned at and how it sped up right before hitting the truck.

  • They ought to put the van owner away. I think he was trying to be a hero.

  • stupid driver in mini van

  • That was crazy. The minivan was turning and just saw the car and tried to make the turn and bam...

I've been to that Telways a million times, great sliders and coffee. I hope everyone else is alright.

  • wow, That van driver is terrible it looks like she sped up on purpose
