And how heavy do they get with the total of trailers and truck?

Are there any max amount of trailers, or can they pull as many as they want?

This configuration is classed as a "Long Vehicle".

Double road train- 36.5 m (120 ft) max.

Triple and AB-Quad road trains- 53.5 m

(180 ft) max.

The Australian national heavy vehicle speed limit is 100 km/h, excepting:

NSW, Queensland and South Australia, where the speed limit for any road train is 90 km/h.

da Adelaide a Darwin. Sono due coppie al giorno da 100 vagoni l'uno più un raccoglitore che fa tutte le stazioni lungo i 3000 km di linea che comunque non sono più di 10/12. Un passeggeri alla settimana, il Ghan tre giorni e mezzo di viaggio.Scartamento normale come la linea Sydney Perth, il resto dell'Australia ha diversi scartamenti non compatibili l'uno con l'altro.

solo in certe zone sono autorizzati i road trains estremi. 53,5 metri , 100 tonn, velocità massima, 100 kmh.Proprio così. per il resto il limite è 35 metri. Anche c on la ferrovia continueranno a primeggiare specie per il bestiame e i carburanti. Nel 1999 la ferrovia arrivava da Adelaide a Alice Springs, 1500 km dove avveniva il trasbordo. Non c'erano cantieri per la costruzione dei rimanenti 1500 km per Darwin.Nel 2004 era già tutto finito. Ora i merci tagliano in due l'Australia
