  • SWEET!!!

  • I'm glad its not sold yet. The museum needs to just buy it. Its on everything of theirs. Tickets shirts key chains I mean if ur ganna promote with it why not just buy it

  • And does anyone know what kinda hire that is?

  • Yeah they have a TC caboose I'm not sure why they don't ever use any other caboose except that one

  • You'd think they'd at least use a N&E caboose. Or maybe even a TC or L&N. But Illinois Central??

  • There are 3 polar express trips coming up. One on November 27. A 90 mile rt to watertown and then December 4 and 11. They are only 64 mile rt. And I road both trips to Monterey this year and the staff is exceptional. (even when ur driving through water and then get stranded for 4 and 1/2 hrs befor getting on a school bus and going back to get your car) lol. I am now a member of the tcrm and can't wait till I can work trips like these.

  • Just rode the Fall tour to Cookville, 180 miles round-trip on Saturday October 23rd. It was FABULOUS! The entire crew were 5-STAR the BEST!!! The weather was perfect and the train ran perfect as well. Gets no better! Look forward to the next one going to Baxter in November, then The Polar Express excursions that follow! And if you haven't yet-----you should.......you won't regret a minute of it, and that's in ANY circumstance! ~Vis~

  • @aVisionseeker And that's which trip? The Polar Express?

  • Did you know that the E-8 in that consist is for sale?! You can find the For Sale ad on Ozark Mountain Railcar. The current price for it is $78,500.

  • @CLietke is it still for sell? wen i worked on that train, i know the engineer has the E-8 6902. i believe he still does own it.

  • @predsfan08 Yep, Its still for sale

  • @CLietke I just started voluteering at the museum and they said 6902 has been up for sale for about 4-5 years now. Luckly, they said it is unlikely that it will be sold anytime soon.

  • @slideguitarbebyb Yep, it'll probably stay For Sale at the price of $78,500 for a while. But, I still can't believe the price is STILL $78,500!

  • @CLietke I heard today at the museum that the guy who owns 6902 told the website to take it down. That's just what I heard. I'm not for sure.

  • @slideguitarbebyb The ad is still there as of 8:05P.M. Pacific Time on 3/19/2011...

  • @CLietke Well I have no idea what's going on with it. I'll try to find out some more about it.

  • @slideguitarbebyb Thanks!

  • @CLietke No problem!

  • Never thought I would see the day a train like this would return to Monterey!

  • I saw the 4245 sitting on a siding in Cookeville near the depot back in early September and wondered why it was there. Too bad in a way that the F40's got sold, but they'll be rebuilt in Paducah and go on to a new lease on life with Metra. I know TCRM is working on the FP7A's and will be painting them in Louisville & Nashville colors but hope they will keep 6902 in the consist. Its former New York Central E8 4080 and has a rich history of pulling several of NYC's premiere passenger trains.

  • i was happy they sold off the F40's they made me sea sick riding in them

  • Did you ever get the chance to ride in an F40 cab?? Did you video it??

  • cool dash 7 and two b unit and e9 with a loug passger train sweet

  • That is a long train

  • thats cool, but i wish they could restore NC&StL 576 to running condition so it could pull the train, now that would be awsome

  • That would be tough on the ex-TC tracksespecially on the very curvy portions East of Lebannon. As it is, the flanges from the passenger cars are squealing like heck rounding the numerous curves. Better to stick with shorter and lighter diesels on that route.

  • yeah, but im talkin bout long excursions over flat tracks and stuff like that, like the line UP 844 and UP 3985 run on, but the main point is to get 576 running again, that would be the best part

  • this is cool, u never really see other types of engines use f7b's. 5 stars! *****

  • I believe TCRM has been working to get the whole A-B-B-A set operational again and all painted in L&N colors. They've had the F7-A's in their shops for a few years plugging away at them a bit here and a bit there but no word on if/when the cab units will be ready to debut on an excursion run. The cabless booster units have been running on the excursions for several years now.

  • @kmillard the TCRM has an F7-A which was just re-wired by the engineer. it should be ready to roll probably by fall or winter. i used to work at the museum.
