  • Being able to turn the tv to NBC every weekday night and see these dudes play live makes me happy to be alive.

  • The BEGINNING is nuts Black Thought is soo underrated smh

  • the first verse is nutssssssss

  • this song goes entirely too hard. the roots and tribe embody true hiphop

  • Who rapper do you know that doesn't need hooks and still rips it like this?

  • Wow, a whole new world of hip hop opened for me......sweet, perfect music to do schoolwork with.

  • The Roots are one of many reasons I love bein from the Illadelph!

  • fukin class

  • I've never heard better rhythmic flow in my life than in this song. It's like his voice is part percussion and part philosophy. While The Roots don't have as good of lyrics as say, GZA, what they make up for is that freaking GROOVE they have to their licks. If you can't head bob to this song you're either 1. A paraplegic or 2. fucking lame and I don't want to hang out with you.

  • Shave that shit, LoL

  • It's sad that a 16 year old song is better than majority of the garbage on the radio today

  • @LouieV6 It's because there aren't enough people paying for music most likely.

  • Rhythmatically, you got ta be, static-y

Magiccally I appear, spark a L and drink a beer

With air smooth, takin niggaz loot with dice

then shoot The Roots, poetic, courageously kinetic

Vagabond, versatile and various, plus rap styles

of mine are blunt, pain is in the mind, so I'm fine and five

    Foot seven, inches in height

My mission to strike mics and lighten your tights...... Black thought is the man

  • this shits fuckinn beattttttttttttttttttttttttttt.lmao

  • DOPE!

  • HIPHOP LIVES HERE!

  • this may be the 1st song released by the roots

  • @bdscavenger Nope, The Roots released an album called Organix before they released this

  • this is the song

  • this is very awesome

  • Niggaz can nah front, I'm poetically exquisite...ill ass line

  • Prodigy is dope man. Roots take the cake though!

  • this song rules!!! and the roots r the best ever!!!

  • 2 ratings and 417 views? People wake up this cd and The Roots are mad slept on.

  • dude, people don't know what real hip hop is, even if they are pistolwhipped upside the head with it....

I miss these days..when rhymes had a meaning...like it had a life of its own and when it was on, it gave you a fresh breath of wisdom

  • u are right i am glad the roots are still putting out new CDs their rhymes and flow is awesome

  • i think hip-hop never be this good and pure again but there's still a few artist

  • You're probably right as far as "pure" goes. This whole album is about as pure as hip hop gets, and I haven't seen a more pure album since.

There still are alot of good emcees bringing rap forward through underground distribution though.

  • yeah but its so under-appreciated that you don't feel that hip hop vibe like you used to.

  • It really depends. I still get that vibe with pretty much anything MF DOOM puts out, but in a different way.

    You're pretty much right though.

  • @TairyHesticles Wow, I've been vid jumping this whole album, and I thought you couldn't perfect any of this anymore. Then you mentioned the great DOOM!

I knew I knew your username from somewhere!

    You know hip-hop, EOS!

  • @TairyHesticles You right the real hip hop has back to the underground because corporations know that upcoming real mcs and producers are not as easy to manipulate and package or the masses as say a lil wayne. Peeps seem to forget that real hip hop and rap was a way to communicate a story from day to day life to a love a struggle it is the art of story telling. It aint for the masses cause the real shit might make people wake up and take the red pill thanks for the post!
