RORSCHACH!!! COME OUT NOW WE KNOW YOU ARE IN THERE!!! NO! Okay ... Lets go guys .... .... Phew that was close .... Oh whats that? Hairspray!? But he doesnt have any hair!!!! .... MYSTERY!!!!
The Watchmen film is everything I expected - a generic action film catering to the masses, the emphasis on violence instead of character development and plot.
The comic permits you to see things from multiple perspectives, e.g. thought bubbles/monologues. 12 volumes of Watchmen develops characters until you feel what they experience. How can a 2 hour film replicate this?
To add insult to injury they changed the plot, making it nonsensical and omitting meaning and substance.
@Jjdsds1 man the movie is fking awesome. the emphasis on violence is purpously.
Im not sure if u watched the movie, cause u see the whole thing from different perspectives as well and its very similar to the comic, only a few details were changed which arent really important
@Jjdsds1 i agree the book was more realistic and gave the super heroes depth and made you care for them, and the crazy thing about realism and depth, is that the story of watchmen is so real to you and its a superhero story unlike superman and batman, these are superheroes we see in ourselves as far as chracter traits go. THIS movie visually was fantastic, but the chracter arcs were smakced on because its in the book, and the fantastic and shokcing ending of the book wasn't even in this movie
@LvL69Gengar it might have been the guy that was taking over for Bruce after Bane broke is back in that one fight, because I think that guy was really wreckless and killed people. I'm not sure but I think that is true
@atomichead777 wow! i thought Batman didnt carry around guns at all, i mean his hands were weapons enough. In the Bonus Features for Christopher Nolan's Dark Night, they were people that discussed how Batman first started appearing.
They said that he never carried a gun and that his utility belt didnt even have much. He mostly relied on his hand to hand combat skills and detective work. Thats why i got surprised when you said he actually killed someone in coldblood.
Well, I think it would make sense that the fall didn't hurt him. He rolled as soon as he hit the pavement. But as fast as he was running though (I'm assuming it was pretty fast, running away from assault rifle fire) He should have landed out in the street instead of the sidewalk.
The novel made much more sense, a fall from that hight he would get up, he was struggling to get up in pain, but he couldn't so while he was down a police man kicks him on the face, and that makes the concision!
rorschach isn't homeless. He lives in an apartment run by a whore, so he lives below the poverty line but he still has a bed to sleep in at night if he chooses to. The reason he smells so bad is because he hides his cloths in select places in the city usually garbage cans, also he never ever bathes. His entire psych is to stop evil, no matter the cost or personal sacrifice. In the book it shows that he lives off sugar cubes, hardly ever sleeps, and never bathes. He lives for his work.
@Terrex123 he wasn't psycho, he was a Hero A goddamn Avenger, but the problems and crime are to big for one man alone to handle! , he was looking for justice, what ever that means to him, he always saw black and white, never gray theres good and evil, evil must be punished, also he was too stubborned!
@theQuestion626 The novel made much more sense, a fall from that hight he would get up, he was struggling to get up in pain, but he couldn't so while he was down a police man kicks him on the face, and that makes the concision! Read novel :)!
@RoldanIncorporated that combined with like 3 acts of murder, the amount of bad guys he crippled...yeah he was going to be in that jail cell for a long time lol
@00mirage00 in the comic he has a rundown apartment, and unless l missed it explaining otherwise, it's assumed that it's the same in the film. He isn't homeless, his suit just smells from being in the trash all the time.
In slow motion its pretty cool when the SWAT officer flips the selector switch on his CAR15 ( I think its a CAR15, judging by the length of the handguard at 0:46), and opens fire on Rorshach.
Rorschach's tears cure cancer... Rorschach once visited the Virgin Islands, they're now the Islands... Chuck Norris owns a pair of Rorschach pajamas...
I love Rorschach. At least he didn't compromise. He did what he did because he believed some things are good and some are bad, even if he was wrong. He didn't become a watchmen for the thrill of it or to feel alive, like Laurie and Nite Owl.
@TheDarkHero456 YEAH HE SHOULDNT HAVE GROUNDED AND POUNDED HIM!!!! he should just have RAN!!!!!! But I guess if he didnt get caught, he wouldnt have said the bad ass line "I'm not locked in here with you, You're locked in here with ME!"
So is it cologne or the first hint that Rorschach is really a homeless man? I think that, despite the graphic novel, that in the film its hinting at Rorschach being the bum.
"GIVE ME BACK MY FAAAAAACE!" I know the line is kinda deep because it says alot about how Rorschach sees himself, but it's bloody hilarious, too. I love hammy acting.
Yeah, just so everyone is good and clear. The S.W.A.T. cop didn't die. He suffered from a broken sternum. :D Rorschach doesn't kill innocents. He's a madman for the higher cause. Saving lives.
@sumfuck41 Indeed. By the way, when I saw your user name I laughed for several minutes for reasons unknown to me. I just wanted to say thanks for the laughs I was feeling pretty crappy today.
When you look up Rorschach in the dictionary, the first picture you get is and inkblot. The second, which is bigger than the other, Is Rorschach in all of his badassery.
Interestingly, when Alan Moore made Watchmen, he wanted fans to cheer for Nitw Owl and see Rorschach as a despicable psychopath.
Instead, many people (myself included) see him as a awesome badass while denoucing Nite Owl as a whiney wimp.
Alan Moore has said in several interviews that he regrets writing "Watchmen" because of Rorschach and the violent antiheroes he inspired. In other words, Rorschach is the granddaddy of comic antiheroes everywhere.
@Kersey475 Hmm...in the movie they made it appear that Nite Owl (orderly goody-goody) and Rorschach (brutal absolute justice?) had similar motives (get the bad guys, fix the world), but different methods. Meanwhile, Comedian is just a self absorbed jerk, and Dr. M. is pretty much a useless lump of whiney blue apathy.
@Kersey475 I like Nite Owl, but Rorshach is awesome. My father hates Rorshach, so maybe it works for him, but I passed around my copy of watchmen in school and everybody loves Rorshach as well. I have to say I didn' think he'd be unintentionally popular.
@Kersey475 lol i was thinking the exact same thing. night owl was one of my least favorite characters in wtachmen, while rorschach was my favorite because he had no limits. he is DC's equivalent of the punisher in that regard. but man everytime rorschach was on screen was when i was the most excited. because you knew something brutal was gonna happen!
@Kersey475 Yeah that's a good point. Rorschach is different though, in that he isn't entirely a psychopath. I like Nite Owl too though. I thought that Rorschach really proves he's a hero with the "Never Compromise" speech at the ending.
Actually, (SPOILER ALERT) Alan Moore said that Rorschach made that "Never Compromise" speech because he knew it would get him killed and Alan Moore also said that he had a "king sized death wish"
@Kersey475 wait so he never wanted Rorschach to be like loved. He wanted him to be kinda like someone people look at in disgrace cause i agree hes a total bad ass

@RenownedRyan
Actually, (SPOILER ALERT) Alan Moore said that Rorschach made that "Never Compromise" speech because he knew it would get him killed and Alan Moore also said that he had a "king sized death wish"
