Are there any other common places where trains stop besides rail yards? Only two in my whole damn state, and I'm at least 300 miles from both. They're both concentrated in one area. Lots of train track where I live though. They gotta stop somewhere in between that right?
@Topgeneral3070 They can stop in a lot of places. Unfortunately there is no easy answers when it comes to that. You have to do your research and study up. Learning that kind of info is 90% of train hopping and separates the boys from men....See what you can dig up about the trains in your area.
How do you know where when and why your train.is stopping, and for how long. And when to get off before it gets loaded or unloaded at its final destination?
@gulageman21 it can vary man, anything from they just kick you off the train, to a trespassing ticket..to an actual criminal charge..for the most part it isn't anything overly serious...but again it all depends who catches you and where.
Part 2 We all rushed over to see him perform a German folk dance screaming, hopping and waving his foot in the air while his two friends wrestled him to ground and removed the shoe then the sock which removed most of his skin. Over the next days his foot turned various colours and dripped yellow stuff. So cook wise, don’t sit too close to buddy as he can bite back. Your subscribers don’t want to loose you through the holes in the floor, enough said.
@ogo2l thanks for the heads up and I did loose my stove just after filming that scene. Normally I don't cook like that but circumstance kept us of the "upper deck" were it was ideal.
Great video brighten up my day. Just one observation I would like to make about non wise cooking at 7:45 minutes that might lead to non wise hopping. I don’t want to sound like a wet blanket or your mother but I remember three German lads camping in the New Forest in England over 25 years ago cooking a “boil in the bag meal” on a stove like buddy when disaster struck. The lad sat around the stove prodded the bag with a knife and tipped the stove over depositing the boiling water into his shoe.
i like how you explain where you are and how things are going. this is one of the better train hopping vids on youtube. keep up the good work and cant wait for the other half!
@johnnycaboosehead my only guess is that there was a steep grade and they needed to give the other train a chance to nail it. I woke up with the train stopped so no even sure if we pulled into a siding or what..but you could be right.

Dude - you need to get yourself a 4' X 6' piece of 3/4" plywood so you have something solid to sit on in those open container cars.

@containerman2 looks like Moncton has quite the little intermodal facility these days. On the way to Halifax I got dropped off there unexpectedly.
wizehop 1 year ago
Actually, you guys didn't "pull over" for that eastbound.
You guys stopped on the main while the other guy took the siding.
Question is, why did they make a container train stop for a mixed junker.
They should have stopped him somewhere further west so you guys could fly by him.
