Funny, if you listen to him speak here, he actually comes across as an intelligent person. What is worse republicans went along with a lot of big govt practices that legally constitute making the US a police state, labeling it all "national security" measure. I am a conservative who believes in the constitution and laissez faire economics and I strongly opposed Bush's policies on spending and big government. I liked his defense policies in that there hasn't been another attack since 9/11. I do not like giving up freedom because you rarely get it back, but at the same time you can't enjoy freedom if you are dead. It is a lesser of two evils situation. I agree with you on freedom; don't sell it.

Yeah, that's a great quote. It's astounding to me how the founding fathers of the US saw all of this coming. I'm not an american but I like his early history, is great. [cont]Bush policies weren't the ones that stopped another 9/11 from happening, there's always a period of time that happens between one attack and another. There could be an attack any day under any govt.. that's why we can't give away "some" of our freedom after every attack, if you do so the terrorist would "win" (in a way, since that isn't exactly what they want).

Right now no party is getting it right in the big scheme of things, they're all letting down the founding fathers. It's a shame.

I LOVE freedom and totally agree with you. I am starting to feel like the founding fathers; taxation without representation! I feel like I have no voice. There was one large attack that was stopped internationally and that was the plot to blow up I think it was 15 planes over the Atlantic,. Olbermann calls him "comedian Rush Limbaugh", and I think that's the closest thing to the truth. Limbaugh is an entertainer, not a serious policy thinker or journalist. As soon as we just ignore him, he'll eventually go away. Same deal with Ann Coulter.
