  • Get your blackberrys out.

  • 7 people are the illegitimate spawn of Simon Cowell.......

  • As long as this music exists to inspire others, there is still some hope, however small, that the days of quality popular music might return. This is the antidote to the Simon Cowell inspired insipid poison that pollutes the charts these days. One day, the Rebel Alliance WILL overthrow the Evil Emperor Cowell! lol

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Oh, there's plenty of great stuff, just that not so much of it is POPULAR. At least here in Detroit. But anything THIS great is rare, anywhere, anytime.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Gotta say, though, that a bloody lot of pop singers sure don't know how to sing one syllable words properly anymore. What ill wind hath the likes of Celine Dion and Whitney Houston wrought?

  • Harry Nilsson also steals the middle 8 from this one on "Good Old Desk." The best always steal from the better.

  • Andy Partridge does a great send up or tribute of this on with the Dukes of Stratosphear and the song "Collideascope."

  • My Mum still loves Roy Wood even after all these years...........

  • @northernbloke1967 My mum gave Roy Wood a wank back in the day.

  • @cockshield What an informative mom you have!! Very liberal. Good ole mom.

  • @cockshield lucky her. I'm sure she loved it!

  • @cockshield did either of them enjoy it ?

  • @cockshield Just think if your Mum had gone all the way making you Roy jnr.!

  • @cozener1 Yeah man, best fucking Christmases ever!!

  • @cockshield Way to go Mum !

  • @cockshield Did he give it back when he'd finished with it?

  • @cockshield I did better than that, I Shagged a Lady in 1980 that became the wife of another famous Rock-Star shortly after,, but then i really hit it big time when i shagged Lady living nearby, who had just split from a big time American Rock-Star, But im not sayin who...

  • goodbye strawberry fields

  • loving Roy Wood in this!

  • Carl Wayne WOW

  • I remember as a 5 year old kid hearing this song....wow!!!

  • @TheCrossStitcher

I was 10 - my brother couldn't believe I liked it (this was in Germany!) :))

  • Simply Fantastic!! I love it !!

  • I prefer this to penny lane…

  • Prefer this to the studio cut , made me laugh when his voice gave out...good to see the drummer laugh too...

Look at this lot , were they high or what ?

  • Why do people compare this to penny lane it's nothing like penny lane this song is fuking irritating nyeh, nyeh, nyeh fukin mega awful

  • An alternative viewpoint in the Brummy style to Penny Lane / Strawberry Fields Forever by The Move.

You say goodbye, I say hello!!!

  • musically pretty familiar to Penny Lane (The Beatles) isn't it?

  • @patjepatatje1958 It was Roy Wood's reply/tribute to Penny Lane! Got to No. 1 in the UK charts!

  • esta cancion justo me agarro un dia qe staba flashando y es genial xD

  • DANKE

  • Goodbye Blackberry Curve!

  • fabulous

  • to me this is the definitive 60s song

  • @soupdragon1971 Yep :¬)))

  • This is the very first record I bought aged 14, it was released on the Regal Zonophone label.

  • i think that once roy wood and jeff lynne were in the same group, they had to split. two guys with a strong creative diverse influence couldnt stay in the same group without trying to do out-do each other. shame realy.

  • This song nearly bankrupted them. Their agent put cartoon on the sleeve suggesting that Prime Minister Harold Wilson was enjoying carnal relations with his secretary (who later became Lady Falkender after he let her compile the honours list one year).

Wilson sued, and won, and the band agreed to give all proceeds to charity.

  • @TheEdwardtheBooble

wasn't this song ... it was Flowers In The Rain ... the rest of what you say is correct though...

  • Great. The Move went nowhere in the USA, but the Electric Light Orchestra was huge here.

  • Very Serge Gainsbourg-ish.

    It's a great tune !

  • great song!

  • Is it an attempt to make Ruby Tuesday? If yes, they just could not.

  • ..

  • my favourite song of all time, close your eyes & escape to the sixties!!!!!

  • that`s style.

  • i saw this on "The sound of the sixties" on vh1 and i thought it was one of the best tunes i ve ever heard. I just love it!

  • ppl who own a blackberry will hear this song differently

  • Sounds like Penny Lane backwards.

  • @79goldmaster1 yea lol

  • "Goodbye blackberry way i cant see you i dont need you" Love this song!

  • Love Roy Wood, whether the Move, ELO or Wizard guy was ahead of his time, f'ing genius

  • Songs by the Move make me happy.

  • Here again ;) Top Tune!

  • a great piece of nostalgy !

  • classic

  • I remember the song well from way back in my childhood - and I liked it -

But looking at this video ... they kinda all look like puppets ... lol

  • Roy is so amazingly cool, always. He's wearing a glitter jacket in 1968 ferchrissake.

  • Look at Trevor Burton. It looks like he HATES this song, even though it was their only no 1. I've heard a story from Bev Bevan in which they were playing this, Burton snarled at Bevan "You're fucking playing it wrong", and the two of them then had a punch up.

  • God Bless you Carl, you were an awesome talent and probably did not receive the recognition that you deserved, but they will be playing this one long after many that are now more popular have faded into oblivion. Ride on...........

  • piekna, piekna....i coz za wpsomienia :( bylam bardzo zakochana

  • @Linakip I know only a few words in Polish, but the first ones were 'beautiful, beautiful' right? Oh shit, you probably can't read this! Bugger.

  • Incentive for Spinal Tap?

  • @daven58100 Please,no,the Move never took themselves or Rock seriously at all, look at Wizzard, a big piss-take! Roy's a genius, you cannot spoof him.

  • If you listen to the theme of the TV show Red Dwarf, you can tell it was heavily influenced by this song.

  • what a fucking sick live band. coke days

  • Carl Wayne also one hell of a vocalist and very underated...RIP mate

  • 2:00 he's thinking go-odby--e the-- mo-ve

  • Rest in peace, Carl Wayne, lead vocalist. You were gorgeous, smile.

    (1943-2004)

  • first song to be played ever on BBC Radio 1

  • @gareedellboy Sorry mate it was 'Flowers in the Rain'. Google google google....

  • @gareedellboy I thought is was flowers in the rain.......

  • Those pants...

  • Where is this performance from ??? Does anyone know?

It's the same program that they performed "Last Thing On My Mind."

  • Comment removed

  • Is there a "Last Thing On MY Mind" from Colour Me Pop out there ANYWHERE. I swear I've seen it before, but now it's GONE. Or is it just me ????

  • It still rocks! :)

  • Always love this song

  • I simply just love this song

  • best version well good tune!

  • this is a tune!

  • Thank God for Scott Muin and his "English Hour" every friday afternoon. I might never have known about The Move. One of the most innovative bands from England.

  • Well ahead of there time

  • Spinal Tap!!!

    I had to say it.

  • music as strange as the hair

  • It's Carl Wayne and Roy Wood on vocals with Trevor Burton and Bev Bevon on drums

  • @markrjg Yes, notice it was mainly Roy Wood's voice we are hearing here (it's strange we see Carl Wayne in front because he was about to quit anyways). At this point, I guess it was Roy Wood's band.

  • @hardstuff72 Roy Wood sang it on the record. I've always liked the way he sang it naturally, without faking an American accent. Evidently British accents were pretty much only for pop songs, and rock numbvers almost always got the American quasi-soul treatment/

  • Loved Move, this one brings back so many memories of a trip to U.K. in '68.

  • Is Jeff Lynn on main vocal?

  • THEAUFPET7, what are you on about ? Roy Wood wrote this song and they are singing in tune. A great song and group. Gary Holton !!!! who's he ?

  • Memories!

  • I don't like this version as much as Gary's version. These guy wrote the song and cant sing a note in tune!!!

  • ROY WOOD THE BEST EVER!

  • ROY WOOD

  • Good old Bev.

  • TEN KAWAŁEK SŁUCHAŁeM DNIAMI I NOCAMI>NAWET MAM FILM ZTOBIONY Z TYM UTWOREM!!! POZDRAWIAM HIPPIE!!!

  • i prefer gary holton and casino steels version!

  • i was just about to say that

great too see another auf wiedersehen pet fan it wasnt the same without gary

  • Great Song.

  • Thanks for posting.

  • This is a classic !!

  • I prefered Firebrigade

  • it looks to me that only Roy should be in the stage, the other members are wondering, "what the hell are we doing here". that's why they broke up.

  • The didn't breakup, the line did changed over time but they ultimately turned into The Electric Light Orchestra. After Rick Price replaced Trevor Burton on Bass they recorded "Shazam".

Out of a lot of the early Move lo

clips, Roy is quite forceful he, like courage in the line of fire.

  • You know, the members of the band hated this song, thought it was too Rock-sounding or something, even though it's their most successful release. You can definitely see evidence in their body language and facial expressions! The lead singer's thoughts are almost audible, "How can this crap be no. 1?" Still, it's one of my favourites. I believe they broke up soon afterwards, a couple of them going on to form ELO.

  • This is the best Move single. I have heard all of them. But this was famous also

here in Finland and it was made a cover.

But though I like every songs The Move recorded.

  • in italian the name of this song is "tutta mia la città" .... :)

  • ! of my alltime 'FAV' song's. Straight 2 'FAV's. LOVE this,+every version,(that I have heard),+whoever sung it. I remember 'boppin' around the kitchen 2 this with my Mum wen I was 4/5!! (I wasn't even 2 wen this version was released). Has def stood the test of time. 'A CLASSIC'. GR8 VID 2. Thanx 4 the posting. X

  • lol - i know wot you mean derangedband. its kind of sounds like him!

  • for some reason i can hear ozzy singing this song (or at least back in the day) --similar sort of voice. i like this :D
