I agree with all of you that the N64 version is harder & better. I have both games & I never beat the N64 version, but I did beat the DS version recently. It's still sort of challenging & a fun game, but the voices are terrible, the music sounds weaker & the graphics are choppier.
Man right at the begging this games first boss easier. Want Proof? Simple, notice how even though he basically has a boost at the start of the race, he still actually WAITS for the countdown xd. N64 you need to spam he super red balloon twice to "hopefully" catch up with him. I'm referring to 0:03 to 0:06 btw.
Hey, why doesn't that water slow you down in the Wizpig track? Is it those uprages again? I haven't tried them yet, and I'm stuck at Wizpig's first race after you have beaten him once. Any hints?
I think the player is using updates of each vehicle: yes, you can buy these updates, which can improve stats like the speed or the handling ... perhaps without these "enhancements" the bosses are really tough to beat, just like in the old days!
@BYoshiChannel Even without those minor changes it's too easy... I didn't even realize I had them turned on for the car and plane before recording these. I had to upgrade the hovercraft though since it's turning makes me feel like I'm on ice in this version.
P.S.I think those upgrades made me no faster than T.T. was back in the day anyways...
@LegendarySuperMario Well, I have the game and I tried facing some bosses... and I think that without those upgrades, the bosses become more challenging: did you try to defeat that walrus boss, without that upgrade? I bet that he would be so hard, just because of the hovercraft's control. You should try to beat those bosses without any "help", just to prove how easy they are. Of course they are easier than the N64 version, but not that easy. That's what I'm trying to say.
That is correct... If I actually bothered to try, All you guys would see is me racing against myself for 10 minutes. If you guys want to see me actually play better, I put up the N64 versions of these races on my channel.
@SkieBluFox I HATE THIS VERSION!!! I SPENT MY ENTIER SUMMER FAILING ON THE LAST LEVEL TO SEE THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE LAZER IN THE WHOLE FINAL LEVEL!!! IN THE N64 VERSION IST SPARTA IN HIS THRONE ROOM!!!!!!! ( heh i made a funny)
06:58 OMFG, WTF, WHY IS WIZPIG NOT WAY AHEAD OF YOU. Glad I chose N64 version over DS, and I just started playing it this summer. Great game, wish I had it, I had a PSX :P
What's wrong with this game? Why does it look like a PSX game eve though back when the DS came out people were saying it was as powerfuul s the 64? Why does Diddy on the DS apparently turn like Pipsy on the 64? Why are Diddy's vehicles painted like a lame texture hack? What's that thing his plane has strapped on underneath it that's apparently also been shoved up his car's butt? Why did this port have to suck like this?
@Redhotsmasher lol psx isn't this bad, if the game designers made it correctly, look at some videos of the original 3 spyro the dragons, and the original 3 crash bandicoots and crash team racing. :P
@xlitlledudex Make sure you take your finger OFF the accelerator before you hit a Zipper. During that time, wait 1 and a half second until the multicolored smoke disappears, and then accelerate again.
Oh, my goodness! I can't believe I didn't realize this! At 0:43, that part was funny! Also, Tricky's voice sounds funny as well! Of all the bad voice acting in this game, Tricky's was the funniest! The part where he got shot! In my opinion, that was hilarious!
@glamorgirl213 find the key from each of the worlds, it will open the T.T challenge door of that world, beat the challenge, and you will get a piece of the T.T amulet.
My initially thought when I first saw this game was "Hey cool, now that this is on the DS, maybe kids will get to enjoy what we did in the past." Now, looking at this though, I feel cheated out of a good remake. For shame Nintendo, for shame >:(
Also, if they can remake this on the DS, why haven't they put this on the N64 virtual console? It can't be a case of copyright since it's on the DS, so what the heck nintendo?
@JinTakumi1 Portable Rare is still in cahoots with Nintendo. Console rare, Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie (which are on xbox arcade), I guess can't be put on virtual console because Rare no longer works with Nintendo on a console level.
It was weird seeing on Banjo-Kazooie for the xbox arcade "Copyright Microsoft 2009" or something like that.
just wondering, how do you get the video from your DS onto the pc/ YouTube? this isnt just a camera pointed at a screen this is a video output into the pc!

That "stun" time when you hit a boss with a rocket. on the 64 version it was barely a second ...
Good thing I still got the 64-cartridge, this port is a shame to DKR's title as one of the hardest race-games.

(although they had somewhat a set path on the N64, all the bosses still used AI to control them since they all had driving controls assigned to them)

soy yo o al juego le bajaron la dificultad hasta mas facil es de pasar los jefes
antes me acuerdo que costaba un huevo pasarlos
me or the game let him down the difficulty to easiest is to move the heads
I remember before an egg cost pass
