I've searched a lot for the best one of this Scherzo here, and I watched a lot of masters playing it, but somehow I wasn't satisfied with anything, they sounded so akward, and when I found Martha, I thought maybe a woman can play it more sensitively...and this record is far the best I'd heard :))))

Incidentally, Horowitz recorded this scherzo also. Horowitz was always 'seen' to be better at argerich, but is it...? no. at any age? yes. but argerich was better in her 30s than her 20s., 40s then her 30s and so on. people think she's still as good as before but that is rubbish. she is 'worse' now but is million times deeper, LAYERED meanings and references but never non-musical, always striving for maximum pianism within a cusp of humanism.
