@vinnie049049 You need the multitrack sessions to do that.. There's not really any technology capable of doing that properly yet, I think Stienberg are potentially going to release something like that, or they're researching it.
You can't just take a song and extract the guitars, not possible once all the waves are blended in to make the final song wave, sorry dude.
you are dumb, who cares about vocal extraction? wavelab is professional mastering software and adobe audition is an amateur DAW. nothing wrong with AA, but you cannot compare the two, they are completely different in what they do.
i've used most of the famous mixing and mastering software ,they sound great on my home system but when i post my song on youtube or myspace i'm extremely disappointed.
It degrades your sound to save bandwidth also, so it's destined to sound low fidelity.
On Topic: Wavelab is still the champ for mastering and editing on native systems. Good job Steinberg! Now if only you'd port Wavelab to Mac, so that I don't need to go to and fro PC to Mac (Currently avoiding Bootcamp). Otherwise Bias may have my monies sooner or later. v5 and v6 still does it better than Bias IMHO though, ATM.

Wavelab can indeed be used to record audio :) you would be better recording using a usb or firwire audio interface for a cleaner sound....

it may have the more features than adobe audition but, DOES IT ALLOW ACAPELLA/ VOCAL EXTRACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
makkin16 2 years ago
i do not think any software can accurately extract vocals, as it depends on a number things how it was recorded and mixed e.t.c
it's best to use a filter and extract vocals manually in my opinion

maybe not because extracting acapella's and vocals will always sound like crap

This thing still uses Delphi's default icons. Maybe it is time to switch the development platform.

Finally, they put some vids on YT.
I hope they'll do some 'how-to' tutorials and cover some advanced features.
Come on Steinberg, by doing this you'll be able to:
1. Satisfy and sometimes ensure future customers.
2. Demystify claims of extreme high learning curve.
A profile designed exclusively for wavelab use is recommended.

HI Charles,
i've used most of the famous mixing and mastering software ,they sound great on my home system but when i post my song on youtube or myspace i'm extremely disappointed.
How do you explain that?
fojeba 4 years ago
on youtube you have to carefull with phase corelation (mono/stereo compatibility) as for myspace their player tents to add more bass
