  • 0:58 Floyd looks like Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog!

  • Wtf

  • This is interesting, but I'm glad they went with the format they did. It would've been too confusing.

Sam's great, but he seems OOC? A lot less concerned about being PC.

  • järnvägskorsning ^^

  • I am so glad they made Waldorf and Statler into the obnoxious hecklers we all know and love today. Here...it's sad seeing them in a room alone with that clock just ticking.

  • Is this really where Janice and Miss Piggy are voiced by an actual woman?

  • These guys seemed slightly lost during this time in their show. They weren't sure what they were doing. Good thing they got back on track. But before, they were competely ost. They shoulda tried Hare Krishna.

  • Good this they did this pilot first. It served as a good experiment. Had they gone with this format, it would have been hard to keep up.

  • why is this called sex & violence... isnt that inappropriate for kids ?

  • @isaabelmaastro The Muppets was for everyone, not kids.

  • 4:41 and he struts out like a boss.

  • gotta love the muppets

  • I'm glad they went with the other format for the show, but this one is funny too

  • Seems like Bert is looking for Ernie...

  • This episode featured the first appearances of Animal, Sam, Swedish Chef, Floyd, Janice, Zoot and Dr Teeth

  • 4:38 Am I the only person in the world to get that reference?

  • Some of the stuff here is good. I wonder why they changed things for the syndicated show (not that it was bad by any means goodness no.) whe n henson had carte blanch in regards to handling the show?

  • I LOVE THIS

  • wait, isnt this a kids show?

  • @softndsmooth The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence aired on ABC on March 19, 1975. It was one of the two pilots produced for The Muppet Show. The other pilot, The Muppets Valentine Show, aired in 1974.

In this half-hour variety special, the Muppets parody the proliferation of sex and violence on television.

    Taken off muppet.wiki

  • @DanieL0LM oh i see, thanks!

  • @softndsmooth

not at all. Jim Henson created the Muppet Show for everyone. These characters are meant to be enjoyed on all levels by multiple generations

  • i am not a cat - i am a bird

    HAAAAHAHA

  • Looking back at the pilot episodes for almost any show is almost always weird

  • Lol @8:59 "Smack da bird" XD

  • What ever happened to Nigel?

  • @Nagneto who do you think is the conductor ;)

  • @VampireKingDuz Yeah, I know. Simple typo xD

  • nooo what's with janice's voice haha

  • LOL Backwards Chinese. That's funny...

  • 2:53 - Hey, isn't that Bert on the right?

  • @quizmaster85 Sure is! And that looks like a modified Grover @2:47.

  • it was awesome to be in the studio when this was taped! I was so impressed with all the sets. Jim Henson & Frank Oz were so nice, and professional. I will miss Jim a lot.

  • @rty1955 What do you mean you "will" miss Jim? He died like 10 years ago. Don't you miss him already?

  • 3:12

    Rail Crossing?

  • Who are those two guys at the bottom left-hand corner on 2:55. One looks like a mom version of Gonzo.

  • anyone else notice the jim henson muppet in the background during the wrestling match on the right side of floyd?

  • This was an awsome show, wish they still made it, much better than many things you see on T.V now a days. :D

  • Floyd's walk is brilliant

  • @Artistmaker123 it was a primetime tv show

  • @Artistmaker123 Back then it wasn't

  • I want you to keep your sharp eyes on the background of the control room for slight changes every time we see it. The signs underneath the clocks are now changed from New York, Paris, Port Jervice NY, and London to Eastern, Central, and Daylight; the bust now sports a beret, and a photo on the wall by Brewster is now changed from a 30's starlet to Mona Lisa.

  • this is also the first apperance of rowlf

  • @9pp589 Nope, Rowlf first appeared in Purina dog chow commercials.

  • This is also the first appearance of animal.

  • @WarioMan939 I'm late by a year but meh, but being the pilot isn't it the first appearance of all the characters?

  • @Jersum Not ALL of them. Remember Kermit was on Sesame Street. And I'm sure a few other characters had appeared previously SOMEWHERE.

  • @batmanrules16 Rowlf was on Sesame street too.

  • the first apperance of sam eagle dr. teeth and the electric mayhem nigel sweddish chef statler and waldorf.
