nice way to pack a horseshoe right there, dont pack your bridle like that, the main wont be able to pull it out of the BOC pouch if you have an out of sequence deployment. Search for pilot chute packing by BSGermain to see a better way.

@noserider207 the Brians way to pack a pilot chute does nothing to prevent a horse shoe. in the event of a horse shoe if the pilot chute is packed bgermain's way it is going to be easier to clear, but again it does not prevent one from happening. a horseshoe is as u said an out of sequence deployment, which happens when ur closing loop breaks, or ur pin comes out early since ur closing loop is to lose, but there is no pc packing method that reduces or increases the chances of a horseshoe

@lolimfalling To say that way doesn't reduce your chance of having a horseshoe is a stupid statement. Try packing your pilot chute like in this video and Brian germains way and see which is easier to extract by the bridle.

@noserider207 a horseshoe is not caused by being unable to extract ur bridle. Again its caused when ur closing loop breaks, or ur main pin comes out before pitching ur pilot chute.with germain method in the event of a broken closing loop or a horseshoe it will be easier to clear but it does NOT reduce the chances of having one to begin with. The avoid a horseshoe u have to make sure ur closing loop is in good condition and main pin is in, no pc packing methods can reduce the chances of a hs.

@noserider207 Im the guy packing in the video and I'd wanna say if you ever wanna get rid of horseshoe malfunction (which I haven't seen yet,) than I'd suggest jumping a pull-out system.

another advantage of pull-out system is that you'll never get pilot chute in tow.

if you chose to jump BOC you can improve the system by

1. making closing loop with 500lbs spectra lines

2. by having proper sized main to provided correct amount of tension on closing loop

3. and finally by changing pilot chute before starts hesitating on deployment

@noserider207 Horseshoes are caused by OUT OF SEQUENCE DEPLOYMENTS. You cannot knowingly "pack" a horseshoe, unless you are dumb enough to jump with a worn out closing loop or too retarded to properly place the pin. B. Germain's method prevents the pilot chute from possibly monkey fisting in the BOC. But hey, who doesn't like a bit of some old fashioned monkey fisting.
