Paul wants to use Hayek and Rothbard's banking models. Allow competition, but allow for commodity backing as well. It just puts faith behind debt contracts, eliminating moral hazard (the systematic form of it). Ron Paul really is a pretty smart guy.

Capitalism is a resourced based economy. A resource becomes a monetary unit when it becomes easy to exchange (gold or silver). Peter Joseph needs to understand why humans use money. He also needs to understand why people go into debt by borrowing and why people save and "hoard" money. Its based on their time preference. The government disrupts these natural decision by humans by protecting illiquid banks from bank runs (which reveal the fraud) by providing insurance and a lender of last resort.

Paul wants to use Hayek and Rothbard's banking models. Allow competition, but allow for commodity backing as well. It just puts faith behind debt contracts, eliminating moral hazard (the systematic form of it). Ron Paul really is a pretty smart guy.

Capitalism is a resourced based economy. A resource becomes a monetary unit when it becomes easy to exchange (gold or silver). Peter Joseph needs to understand why humans use money. He also needs to understand why people go into debt by borrowing and why people save and "hoard" money. Its based on their time preference. The government disrupts these natural decision by humans by protecting illiquid banks from bank runs (which reveal the fraud) by providing insurance and a lender of last resort.
