At this time, Bobby L. Moore was musical contractor for Johnny Cash's TV show. He is seen only briefly playing bass in this film. Wonderful basslines. While largely uncredited for his works, Bob Moore is the best producer Nashville has ever known. Period!
can you post the next part of this if you have it? this part is awesome, I'm just yearning to hear johnny and john play together. thanks for posting, regardless!
amazing to say the least rip john hartford just love the guy, i know he wrote the hit song [gentle on my mind] thanku for uploading this fantastic video i just love this song takecare gentleonmymind08
I read somewhere that John and Norman met on the Johnny Cash show. Notice that Vassar is there too... seems like this that we are watching could be the birth of the Aereo-Plain band. Any of you that know the album know how significant this would be!
that's too bad, someone else was hosting that portion, i didn't want to step on any toes, but if they've removed it, I'll dig up mine & put a copy up soon.
Yes it is. There's a lot of videos of him on YouTube. Some of my favorites are "Sunshine Lady" from the (Something Else- tv show), "Annual Waltz" from (Learning to smile video) and anything from the (Ramblin' video). In my opinion Hartford was a totally underrated musical genius! (Not to mention he was totally cute!)
Why isn't the Johnny Cash show in syndication on one of the 300 cable channels? The diverse level of quality talent he was able to assemble will never be repeated on network television. It took a talent like Johnny Cash to recognize and promote some of the best young talent of the 70's.
What a great introduction by Jonny Cash.

For the record Hartford was misinformed. The banjo actually is an African intstrument, not an American invention.

Bob Moore (King of Nashville) on the upright bass. Mr. Moore was the musical contractor for Johnny Cash when he started his TV show.

seems like someone took down the part that follows with John, Vassar, and Norman all playing tribute to Big Mon.

I'd only heard Mason Williama sing this before; it's nice to hear the original artist.

Do you think? I don't know- the Johnny Cash show... its followed by the amazing medley with John, Johnny, Vassar, and Norman... could be I guess.
I don't know for sure, but seems to me it must be 1970 or so.
