They shorten the original version doing it...I don't practice none of the songs I record using a cheap camera...When it comes to playing Journey I can play the original stuff in my sleep...I grew up idolizing Journey in my teens and into my early 20.s as one of the greatest band ever...
Sad to see how they turned out. Trial by Fire was great but it isn't the same without Smith & Perry.
It is Dean Castronovo as the background vocals that help him carry it. Dean is the closest that they have ever had to Steve Perry. If you listen to him sing in even the new videos you will see. Not to knock JSS. He is a good singer on his own.

In those vids Jeff was singing other songs & his own and sounded really good... no doubt there... My point, it's like putting someone else up on stage and singing Eagles stuff instead of Don Henley, Or replacing Jon in Bon Jovi... Not the same... Someone else singing Journey songs... Not the same and honestly most diehard fans don’t listen... Thanks for the comment. : )
@MAZorgJourneySPfan i couldn't agree more especially when it comes to the singer who is the signature of each band...because when you listen to the same band with another singer its like listening to a cover band...it kinda loses the whole feeling of originality

Im not being funny or anything but after Perry I would chose this dude to sing for them rather than the other singers and this Arnel dude who sings for them now, its just this dude has the Perry accent going on and it sounds great imo, but you still cant top Perrys power and vocal range.
It's only right, that JSS should do his own thing away from Journey. There's just no chemistry between the band members here. If you're a JSS fan, you'd enjoy this. Being that he really commands the stage. But if you're a Journey fan, no. It's like they're just going through the motions here. It's like there's no inspiration in their playing here. So with that, I feel not good with the way JSS was let go. But at the same time probably the best decision for everyone involved. (cont'd)

I totally hear what your saying. The only thing I would add is that I don't think the Journey guys have anything left in them regardless of the vocalist of the day. They are old and playing the same nothing new stuff..... uh yeah, I know I am a huge JSS fan but also a huge SP fan. :-) Of course Journey fan...when they were whole.

JSS is a performer... better than Augeri & Arnel... I am not talking about voice quality. Altho he is definitely made for the harder sounding stuff.
It was weird what he was doing with his hair just before he started singing... otherwise, he seemed to be into the song. And not look like a nerd.

Great vid. Looking back, Soto was definitely the best man for the job. Don't get me wrong, love what Arnel's brought to the band, but JSS had "it".
