Ohh, thanks for the reply. I am now officially looking for the same amp. But i see that you have a Diezel now, did you get rid of the F-50? Is the Diezel that much better, or just suited the metal taste of yours?
welcome man. The F50 is a GREAT amp, I still got mine. I got the Diezel because it's a more complete amp all around...better sound, more versatile (to me at least). It doesn't mean the F50 ain't great, because it IS. I LOVE the clean channel, and the OD channel is pure Mesa power (the growl is amazing. I play them both. I love metal, but believe it or not is not the music I play the most (I play pop rock mostly)
Ohh, thanks for the reply again. I really love how you play by the way, it very clean and just awesome. Have you tried the Mesa Mark IV? It was either the F-50 or Mark IV but the Mark IV is a little bit more expensive in the used category. Is this the hardest metal you can pull out of the amp? I'm not saying its not good, but it doesn't sound like it can pull Pantera's stuff or other high gain song? I know that the Mark IV will have no problem on this. Though i like the clean in this amp alot:)
thanks again man, appreciate trully the props. The F-50 is a very aggressive amp, in its voicing...you can hear it has avery agro characteristic. It's a very streight forward amp, not much buttons, only two channels and Contour (which makes the amp more aggresive sounding. The amp's circuitry is a mix between the Mark series and the Recto, in ch. 2 w/out the contour engaged, it's more smooth sounding and more like a Mark, w/ contour it has that Recto character......(cont..)
...It's not really a MARK and a RECTO, but it has some of both amps character making it it's own character. It'll do some AMAZING hard Rock/progressive metal tones, but you guessed it, it won't do the tight thrash metal Pantera's known for. It's a little bit loose for that. Between the Mark IV and the F-50 I'd pick the Mark IV because it's more versatile, the clean channel on the f-50 is better (but not THAT much better tho) but in the OD channels the Mark will win hands down....(cont....)
...but again, the F-50 is a gem....GREAT amp...VERY LOUD, very AGGRESIVE...it's just voiced aggressively, you can clearly hear it... keep in mind two things about my video....1rt the amp is NOT kranked....so with more volume it'll sound even better and more powerful, and 2nd, it's a open back combo.... with a cab this amp just KILLS.. in the OD channel....sounds wayy more tight and heavy. But it's really not A/B , what you hear is mostly what you get. Great amp. I'd get the Mark IV tho. cheers!
Thanx for the advice, i am just recently saw a Mark IV for $1000, might get that. Thanx again, and keep on playing well, maybe i will be as good as you someday. :)
you know its funny cuz i just saw that vid, hardest guitar solo ever or whatever, which is horrible by the way, and it actually does sound like it. altho jon your hilariously bad and overly ego-centric, he did make a valid point lol. that was a rip off his solo. its the same thing but in reverse. altho probably not on purpose i bet ;D
Well i got that EMG system like 7 years ago at a Guitar Center or Sam Ash (not sure) and i remember like it was today, it costed $257.00 Great Setup for Rock, even though the Neck single coil sounds great in a Clean Ch. The 85 hb is in the bridge, GREAT... ilike it more than the 81 in my strat, cuz strats are bright guitars so the 85's a bit darker (only a bit, EMGs are bright)
